KH- Fast Food Madness!

"I'm doing alright," Sora answered, noticing how she kept her hand on his.

 

Kairi nodded once with a small smile. "Good." She pulled her hand back and placed it in her lap.

 

Sora smiled softly and moved his hand off his wound. He slowly laid it to his side.

 

Kairi looked out the window again, seeing snow covered buildings in the distance. Tomorrow was Christmas Eve...

 

Sora followed Kairi's gaze and turned his head toward the window. He couldn't believe how much it had snowed lately.

 

If he was feeling well enough, Kairi thought that maybe Sora would be able to get out tomorrow or so. She hoped so anyway.

 

I must have slept in a wrong position, Sora thought as his shoulder tingled. Oh well, at least it wasn't as bad as it had been even yesterday. He could tell that his wound was finally healing, even if he still couldn't use that arm too well.

 

Kairi nibbled on her bottom lip as she stared out the window. The sky was cloudy and gloomy today. The weather wan't any better; cold and windy.

 

Sora saw the wind rustle through the tree leaves below. Even from inside, he could tell that it was very cold outside. He wondered how it felt; he hadn't had the freedom to go outside for some time now, and he really missed it.

 

Kairi sniffed, crossing her arms. She'd enjoyed being out in the fresh air, and it felt good when she came here. But the thought of the cold wind made her shiver.

 

Sora shut his eyes halfway, thinking. This Christmas couldn't possibly be good with all that's happened, could it? He really hoped that he could make it alright and happy and fun, but he didn't know how he possibly could if he was stuck up in the hospital. A needle in your arm and a computer beeping ever waking moment was not his idea of joy or happiness.

 

Kairi crossed her legs, her arms still at her chest. She started to wonder what she would do about gifts this year... Well, that wasn't really important right now. Sora was the main priority. As long as he was okay, she was okay too.

 

Sora shut his eyes and thought about what Christmas day would be like. He did have gifts for his friends, but they were at his house. In fact, he had been so excited for Christmas that he had been ready for the day almost a month ago. His house was fully decorated and everything. He sighed softly. That didn't do him much good if he was in the dull, boring hospital room.

And then there was Kairi's gift. He had ordered a necklace, but he had never picked it up. There was no way he could get it now, he sadly realized.

 

Kairi's eyes glazed over as she stared out the window. She could get her friends something they'd like easily. But there was one person who she could never quite decide on, and that was Sora. She was unsure of what to get him, and the holiday was only two days away. What was she going to do? He was too attached to the crown necklace of his, so a necklace was out. But what else would he like? She didn't know what he was interested in these days.

 

Maybe he could get someone to pick up the necklace and bring it to him...so he could give it Kairi. Sora cheered up a little bit at the thought. He did have his cell phone with him, so maybe he could call Roxas and ask him to pick it up. Even if Sora wasn't home for Christmas, he wanted Kairi to have that necklace.

 

Kairi was starting to get a little nervous. With Christmas so close, she should've gotten something earlier. But she still didn't know what to get him. That's what was making her so uneasy. She was sure that Sora already had something for her, which made it worse. He was always prepared for this season. But after all that's happened lately, a gift for the holiday had been the last thing on her mind.

 

Sora knew that Kairi would love her necklace- it was a small, golden heart. It only had the outlines of heart, no center. It curved beautifully and would look perfect on her. It was simple, but he knew that it was perfect. He let a small smile appear on his face. When he had the chance, he would call Roxas and ask him to pick it up.

 

Kairi blinked away her daze and looked over at Sora for the first time in a few minutes. She smirked. "What are you smiling about?"

 

Sora opened his eyes and turned his head so he was facing Kairi again, keeping the smile on his face. "Nothing."

 

Kairi shook her head humorously with a small smile on her face and looked back toward the window.
