KH- Fast Food Madness!

"You're probably wondering about what happened with the fighting in my heart..." Sora brought up the new, more awkward subject.

 

Kairi looked up at him. "I was," she confirmed. She knew by the atmosphere in the room now that this was going to be one of the more touchy subjects.

 

Sora looked down at his hands as they rest in his lap. "Do you remember back at the jail that day...when I was under that pile of heartless?" He asked slowly, keeping his head down.

 

Kairi closed her eyes at the painful memory. "Yes..." she answered, letting out a soft breath.

 

"I think...they got into my heart then." Sora said quietly, careful with his words.

 

Kairi opened her eyes and stared at the city in front of her. She didn't say anything.

 

"Looking back, I remember one day when I felt them in my heart, but the feeling didn't come back until I was in my coma." Sora told her, not daring to look up.

 

Kairi nodded numbly. She wondered when that had been, when he first felt it.

 

"I'm not sure when exactly I got rid of them, since I went back to that place in my dreams a few times." Sora thought out loud. "But I'm sure they're gone. And the heartless Sora..." he began on the most troubling topic of all. He needed a second to think about what he was going to say.

 

"So that was you when we were together..." Kairi thought aloud. She remembered the thing she miraculously defeated with Sora's Keyblade when he had...died.

 

Sora nodded once. "Yeah, and I had fought him one time before..." he shook his head a little. "I think, that the heartless released my darkness, and that..."heartless Sora" was actually my darknes."

 

"He's gone, isn't he?" Kairi watched as the snow fell harder now.

 

Sora raised his head as he looked out the window. "In a sense. My darkness is mine again, and he can no longer haunt me." He shook his head again. "But I can't get rid of it forever, it's impossible for a normal person like me to have a perfectly pure heart."

 

Kairi nodded. Yeah, normal. She was a Princess of Heart, not a bit of a darkness in her heart. Like that was normal at all.

 

"It would have taken me...if you hadn't been there," Sora whispered, scared of the reality of the situation. He had almost been killed. Forever. He didn't like to think about it, so the sooner they finished this conversation, the better.

 

Kairi nodded. "Now you know why I was crying... It was terrifying, seeing you lay there--" She cut herself off. Remembering the moment wasn't going to make it any better and she didn't want to think about it. That was one of the worst moments she'd experienced.

 

Sora nodded and looked down at the floor again. He felt a tear slide down his cheek, but he quickly wiped it away, hoping Kairi didn't notice it.

 

Kairi didn't want to talk about that anymore. It was a scary memory. So she changed the subject, but it wasn't a lighter topic. "Sorry about lying to you," she apologized.

 

Huh? What was she talking about? Sora looked over at her with a questioning look.

 

Kairi looked up at him. "My head... I should've told you."
