KH- Fast Food Madness!

"Oh." Sora said softly, biting his lip as he looked down into his lap. He should have known that it was something like that, but for some reason, it still surprised him. He didn't understand why it should, but despite that fact, it did. Maybe he was still just shocked that the fraud had come back.

 

Kairi nodded and looked at the floor between their chairs. She felt bad for leaving like that, running around trying to find him when he'd only come back to her room anyway. She should've stayed. She would've been able to at least try and prevent more injuries coming to him.

 

"I know what you're thinking," Sora said aloud, lifting his head as he gazed out the window. "It's not your fault he hurt me again."

 

"I should've stayed in the room. I should've known you'd come back," Kairi said softly, sadly as she looked into the darkness outside.

 

Sora shook his head. "No, you might have gotten hurt if you had stayed. I'm glad you weren't there."

 

"I would've rather had it been me than you," Kairi admitted finally. She stared at the dark sky blankly.

 

Sora quickly shook his head. "No, it's better this way." He let out. If Kairi had been hurt, he would have actually killed that man. Even after he had been attacked again, he had almost strangled the criminal until he died. He looked down and shut his eyes at the thought. He was glad he didn't, he didn't like murder, even if it was justified.

 

"I don't think so," Kairi disagreed, shaking her head. "You've been hurt too many times already."

 

Sora couldn't disagree with that last bit, but still, he was so glad that it was him instead of Kairi. "It's still better this way." He said softly.

 

Kairi didn't say anything more about that, knowing that no matter what she said he was going to stick with his own opinion. "To be honest...I feel guilty," she said softly.

 

Sora finally looked over at her, staring at her with his bright blue eyes. "You have nothing to feel guilty about," he said gently.

 

Kairi looked down at her hands in her lap sadly. "Yes I do. It isn't fair that I'm able to get out of my bed and you're not. You've been here twice as long as I have. You're the one that deserves to be able to walk around freely, Sora." She looked up at him and met his blue eyes with her own violet-blue.

 

Sora shook his head a little. "Don't say that, Kairi..." He said quietly, trailing off.

 

Kairi bit her lip again and kept her eyes on his. She still felt guilty, no matter what Sora said. She just wanted to see him happy again.

 

He brought his gaze down to the floor. "I don't know why all this had to happen, but it did. And I've accepted it." He said softly, not sure if he really meant the last part or not.

 

"I was thinking the same thing a while ago...It's not fair that this had to happen..." Kairi nibbled her lip as she turned her attention to the window.

 

"Whether it's fair or not, it still happened." Sora looked out the window. "We just have to accept it and move on," he said more softly.

OOC: Gotta go eat diner, be back soon.

 

OOC: Okay.

Kairi nodded. But it wouldn't be that easy. She knew that both of them would never forget all of this, no matter how hard they tried.

 

Sora shut his eyes a little and leaned back in his chair, still watching the snow fall to the ground.

 

Kairi fiddled with her fingers as she stared at them. The silence was a mix between comfortable and awkward.
