"Kairi. Kairi?"

Kairi stirred in her sleep. "...Sora?" she asked groggily.

"No, Kairi." The voice sounded sympathetic.

Kairi opened her eyes slowly, blinking a few times. Her eyes found the doctor's and she suddenly felt confused.

"I need to ask you a few questions, Kairi," he said.

Kairi nodded and rubbed her eyes.

 

Sora opened his eyes and blinked as the bright lights momentarilly blinded him. He fell asleep again? He sighed. Why not? After all, the hospital was really boring.

 

"How are you feeling?"

"Fine. A little tired," she admitted. Especially since you woke me up.

"Any head pains? Does your stomach hurt?"

She shook her head as she tried to wake up. Despite her drowsiness, she understood the questions and answered them truthfully.

"Do you feel well enough to walk around?"

Kairi paused at this question. What exactly was he meaning? "Yes..." she said slowly, concerned.

"Do you think you'll be all right if we send you off with medication?" he asked again. He scribbled on his board. "You'll have to take the medicine every 6-8 hours."

"Send..me off?" Kairi repeated. Was he--?

"That's right," the doctor said with a smile. "Your symptoms are gone, permanently I hope. You're free to go."

Kairi bolted upright. "Really?!" She suddenly grabbed her head. She'd gotten up too fast, and was momentarilly dizzy.

 

Sora sighed. He wanted to get out of the bed, and he was going to do it whether his doctor would let him or not. He slid his feet off the side of his bed and slowly rose to his feet, ignoring the nagging pain in his chest.

 

"Are you all right?" the doctor asked immediately.

Kairi nodded. "Uh-huh. Just got too excited," she said with a giggle.

He chuckled. "All right. Well, your clothes are in the cabinet behind me. Once you change, you can go sign yourself out at the front desk." He smiled. "It's been a pleasure, despite the circumstances." He extended his hand.

Kairi took his hand and smiled gratefully. "Thank you."

"Take care of yourself, and enjoy your holiday," he said nicely. He turned and started for the door. "Give Sora my best wishes," he called before exiting the room.

Kairi smiled. She was frozen in her spot. She was actually free to go? Her grin grew and she got out of bed, walking to the cabinet to get her clothes. She pulled them out and noticed how clean they were. She went over and pulled the curtain that went around the bed to give herself some privacy as she changed. She hated this hospital gown.

 

Sora felt a little dizzy, but it wore off pretty quickly as he walked over to a seat by the window. He sighed softly and sat down. He put his left arm on the table and rest his hand in his head as he gazed out the window at the city. It was night time now, and he could see the colorful lights glowing brightly.

 

Kairi sighed gratefully as she felt her pink dress on her skin. It was so much more comfortable than that gown she'd been wearing for a while. She tied her shoes and stood up, smoothing out the dress. She noticed her stomach when she undressed, and the stitches weren't that noticeable. She was grateful for that.

 

Sora let out a breath and ran a hand through his hair. The city was so beautiful at night, with all the buildings decorated with Christmas lights and snow covering the ground. He sighed softly. He wished he could be out there-enjoying life, but instead, he was stuck here, watching life pass him by.

 

Kairi sighed softly, running a hand through her hair. She went over to the door, suddenly realizing now that she could see Sora. Her heart skipped a beat from happiness as she put her hand on the doorknob. She opened the door and started next door to his room.

 

Sora put his hand under his chin as he gazed outside. He would have brought up his other arm too, but the last time he tried using it, it had hurt too badly. He shook his head a little. Would he ever be able to move again without pain? It was hard to imagine.

 

Kairi peeked through the window on the door, seeing him near the window. She opened the door quietly and shut it softly behind her as she entered his room. She bit her lip as she walked toward him. "Hey," she greeted kindly.

 

Sora jumped a little at the sound of his name. He let his left arm land on the table. His head spun around to see who was at the door, even though he already recognized the voice. He jumped to his feet. "Kairi?!"

 

Kairi grinned, a small chuckle escaping her. "Hi."

 

His wound rang out in pain and Sora couldn't help but wince. He ignored it and spoke. "What're you doing here? Why are you wearing your normal clothes?" The questions came out quickly.

 

She smiled warmly. "They let me go," she answered softly. She then looked at her clothes at his second question. "What, did the gown look better on me?" she asked with a humorous smile.

OOC: I have to go. =( Sorry. You probably already know I'll be on after school tomorrow though, so... xD See you then.

 

Sora smiled wider. "Really? That's great!" He looked into her eyes, which were glowing with laughter. "And no, I think I like this outfit much better." He said happily.

OOC: It's alright. See you tommorrow unless something huge comes up in my life xD.

 

Kairi smiled and giggled lightly. She met his gaze and walked closer to him. "How are you feeling?"

 

"Much better now that you're here." He smiled as he looked into her stunning violet blue eyes.

 

Kairi smiled again. She was happy that she could be here with him instead of being seperated in her own bed. But at the same time, she wanted to be back in that bed so he wasn't the only one who had to suffer. Her eyes met his piercing blue. Kairi brought her hand up and lightly brushed his hair out of his eyes so she could see them better.
