KH- Fast Food Madness!

The kind doctor offered her a small smile as he walked over to check on Sora.

The two stared at each other for a while, and then the anti-Sora summoned the Kingdom Key and lunged at Sora. Sora jumped back and summoned Oathkeeper just in time to halt the keyblade's deadly force.

 

Kairi stood up from the bed to get out of the doctor's way. She backed up and stood near the end of the bed.

 

"Have you noticed any changes?" The man asked Kairi as he checked Sora's pulse.

Sora grunt and used his own keyblade to knock away the heartless. He yelled as he charged forward and swung at the fake.

 

"Umm...yeah," she said hesitantly. For some reason she had a feeling she shouldn't have said anything, but that was over and done now.

 

The doctor looked over at Kairi curiously. "Like what?"

The blow went right through the heartless, not inflicting any injury. "Huh?" Sora questioned. The heartless jumped and struck Sora in the side. He gasped and fell back a few steps.

 

"He...woke up for a little while," she said slowly. Why did Kairi feel this way? It was weird.

 

The doctor smiled. "Really? That's excelent."

Sora stared at the heartless angrilly. How was he supposed to defeat it if he couldn't even hit it. He held up his keyblade to defend himself as it attacked again.

 

"Mm-hm," Kairi agreed with a nod. "So, how's he doing?"

 

"His heart rate is up a little, and his blood pressure is closer to normal." The doctor told her. "However, we still need to give him more blood for now."

"What do you want?!" Sora screamed out in frustration after he jumped back to avoid another attack.

 

"Oh...okay," Kairi said. She looked away for when he gave Sora more blood. She didn't really want to see that. His heart rate was up, huh? Kairi was a little unsure, because she felt that something bad was happening to him while he was unconcious.

 

The doctor finished his work and turned to Kairi. "You know, you're doctor was pretty upset that you refused to stay in bed. In fact, he told me he would be coming to check on you soon." The man told her.

"Your heart..." a slimy voice replied.

Sora grunt and sidestepped to avoid another attack.

 

"Right..." Kairi bit her lip in shame. But she stayed out of it because she wanted to be there for Sora. That was a good enough reason for her. "Thanks."

 

The man nodded and left the room.

Sora pant as he ran around the nothingness, trying to avoid the fireballs that the thing threw at him. What was this? And why couldn't he defeat it?

 

Kairi gnawed on her lip and glanced at Sora. His face was blank again; nothing expressed. Her eyes flitted to the end table near the bed and fell on her charm. The girl's legs automatically led her to it and she picked it up. For some reason, she felt it was needed.

 

Sora instinctively brought up his keyblade to protect himself as a fireball went directly for him. The weapon stopped it, but not completely. The force knocked Sora off his feet and onto the ground. AntiSora was floating towards him, its yellow eyes staring holes through him. He stared at it, unable to move.

 

There was a knock on the door and the man opened the door, seeing his patient at an end table and her close friend in the hospital bed. He cleared his throat. "Um..Kairi? May I borrow you for a second?"

Kairi glanced up and after he spoke her eyes automatically flitted to Sora. What if he woke up while she was gone? Would he be mad? Sad? Disappointed?

"It'll only be for a moment," the doctor assured her.

Kairi looked at him, and then nodded hesitantly. She picked up her charm and put it in her pouch for safe keeping. She didn't want some stranger moping into the room and taking it. She went over to the bed and leaned over, whispering in Sora's ear. "I'll be right back. I promise." She pecked his cheek and then turned, walking toward the door, the doctor holding it open for her as she stepped out.

 

"No...stop!" Sora screamed as the thing got closer to him. The heartless chuckled as he picked up Sora by the neck. Sora gasped for breath and tried to free himself from its grasp.

 

Kairi stepped outside the room where the doctor joined her. "What is it?" she asked as she stood next to the wall.

"I'm actually a little worried about you, Kairi. You refused to stay in bed after the incident and I'm not up-to-date on your current condition." He looked at her through his glasses. "Have you been feeling any pains lately?"

Kairi hesitated, but said, "Yes. The pains are starting to come back, but they're not that bad anymore."

"Alright," the doctor said nodding. He scribbled something on his clipboard. "Have you been feeling dizzy or queasy lately?"

"Only when Sora's doctor gives him more blood," Kairi answered.

 

Sora grunt and squirmed. No! He had to fight. He kicked the heartless and was relieved when it released its grip on him. Sora gasped for air as he fell to the ground.

 

"I see," he said slowly. "If you feel anything else, come find me, all right?"

Kairi nodded.

He smiled slightly. "Okay. I'll be back in a little bit with your medicine." He walked down the hall.

Kairi followed him with her eyes until she turned around. She opened the door and went back inside Sora's room.
