Sora walked down the hall towards Kairi's room. He really felt better after walking around. It reminded him of how fortunate he was that nothing else had gone wrong lately. He hadn't even felt that sick today, since he was taking his medicine. He had just taken some a few minutes ago and yet it already seemed like it was taking effect. He smiled as he opened the door walked into the room. Huh? It was deserted. "Kairi?" He called as he looked around. He heard the door slam shut behind him. He curiously turned around.

"Hello, Sora. Did you miss me?"

 

Roxas roamed the second floor, concentrating on finding the boy with spiky brown hair. Where could he be?

Kairi walked around downstairs casually, but she was actually very scared...and nervous. What if Sora ran into the doctor? Then all Hell would break loose. It'd be terrible. What would they do if he was badly injured? What would she do? Kairi knew she couldn't live without him. As she walked down a hallway, she dug into her pouch and pulled out Axel's cell he'd given her. Maybe if she called him....

 

"Y..you!" Sora jumped back angrilly. "How are you back?"

"I came for revenge." The villian chuckled. He raised up his fists. Sora did the same. Both of them yelled as they charged at each other and the fight began.

 

Roxas turned the corner. Maybe Kairi or Axel had found him... He took out his phone and dialed Axel's phone, wanting to get in contact with Kairi to see how she was doing.

Kairi stared at the phone, debating whether or not she should call Sora. What if he was in trouble? And he needed help? Kairi jumped when the phone rang, Roxas' number popping up on the screen. She pushed the "talk" button and held the phone to her ear. "Roxas?"

"Kairi. How are you doing? Anything yet?"

Kairi looked around as she walked. "...No. I haven't seen him anywhere. I don't think he's on this floor."

Roxas passed a nurse. "Have you searched the whole floor?"

"Pretty much the whole thing. The only part I haven't checked is the ER, and that's closed off. I can't go in." Kairi looked through a door. Nothing.

"Okay..." Roxas swallowed. "Have you tried contacting him?"

"I was just about to call him when you called," she said.

 

"You're not bad." The criminal commented as he threw another punch at Sora.

Sora ducked and avoided the blow. "Neither are you." He stated as he threw another punch. The hit was blocked, but Sora quickly retaliated and hit the man's jaw. He watched as the man stepped back a little bit. The "doctor" charged again and got in several more punches. Sora gasped as he was knocked back a little. He jumped on the bed and tackled the fraud.

 

Roxas nodded and spoke again into the receiver. "Alright. I won't keep you."

"Okay. I'll call you if I get anything." Kairi hung up and started dialing Sora's number on the cell phone. She put it to her ear again as one ring rang out.

 

Sora suddenly felt something vibrate in his pocket. His cell phone.

Seeing his surprise, the "doctor" took advantage of the distraction and threw him to the ground, kicking him several times in the stomach. Sora was unable to deflect any of the attacks. He found himself sitting against the wall, panting heavily and staring helplessly as the man pulled out a knife. That thing was huge! The man pulled back his arm and threw the knife. Sora let out a sharp cry as it pierced his skin, digging into the original bullet wound. He stared up at the man angrilly.

 

"Hey, you've reached Sora. Sorry I couldn't get to your--" Kairi pushed the end button and groaned. His voicemail? That wasn't good; not good at all. Kairi dialed Roxas's number quickly.

Roxas picked up the phone. "Yeah?"

"Roxas, I got his voicemail. He's not picking up. I have a feeling something's wrong," she said quickly into the phone.

Roxas made a sound of disgust. "I was afraid of that."

"He might've gone back to the room. I'm gonna go ahead and head back--"

"No! Kairi, you can't go up there on your own. It's too risky."

"What? Sora could be in danger up there, Roxas. And, in case you haven't noticed, everything we've been doing lately is risky. That's the way our lives are now." Kairi turned the corner and headed for the stairs, knowing the elevator would take too long. "I'm going. There's no way I'm leaving him alone up there."

"Kairi, wait--" Click. Roxas pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at it, his mouth open slightly. He groaned and ran down the hallway. He had a feeling he was going to need Axel's help, but he couldn't risk Kairi being killed if things were too much.

 

The man pulled a gun out of nowhere and kept it aimed at Sora. Sora grunt as he tried to move but found he was unable to do anything. He stared helplessly down the barrel of the gun.

"Goodbye, Sora." He pulled the trigger.

 

Kairi stopped on one of the stairs and looked up when she heard the gun shot. "NO!!" she cried from deep within, a sound of agony. She pushed herself harder now and pushed the door open.

Roxas skidded to a halt at the sound. "No..." He stared ahead and started running. When he rounded the corner he saw someone come around the other corner. Red hair flying past him. "Kairi!"

Kairi turned around. "Come on!" She started running again and knew that Roxas was following her. He couldn't be...He couldn't be...gone.

 

"Reflect!" Sora yelled. A barrier blocked the bullet and sent it back into the wall behind the doctor. Sora watched the man stare at him. He dropped his gun in shock.

"H-how did...?"

"I've done more fighting than you will ever know." Sora said darkly, feeling a new kind of rage flow through his veins. He put a hand on the handle of the knife and screamed as he pulled it out of his chest. He dropped it to the ground. "You won't be living long enough to find out anything though." Sora yelled as he rose to his feet and lept at the surprised man.

 

"Did you hear it?" Roxas said as he ran beside her down the hall.

"Roxas!" Kairi couldn't believe he was asking this. She ran faster and rounded the corner as fast as she possibly could. A nurse barely dodged her and she knew that Roxas was right on her tail. They were almost there.

 

Sora grabbed the man by the neck with both hands as he stared into his eyes with hatred.

 

Many people were coming the opposite way down the hall as Roxas and Kairi sprinted down it. "Out of the way!" he screamed.

The people pushed against the wall and cries came from them as they passed. Kairi paid no mind, they were so close. He was just around the corner and a few feet down the next hall. Kairi bit her lip as she ran, about to lose it at the possibilities at this moment.

 

Sora could hear his heart beating in his ears. Blood still flowed from his wound. He didn't care. He grabbed the man tighter around the neck and stared at him with dark blue eyes.

 

Kairi let out a cry as she almost fell, but she caught herself on the wall. Roxas was a foot ahead of her now, but she was keeping up at a good pace. The door was right there. She watched Roxas skid to a halt in front of her and whip the door open, Kairi grabbing the edge of the door as she tried coming in after him.

Roxas stopped when he got inside, looking at the scene before him.

Kairi came up beside him, panting, her hair in her eyes. Her eyes widened. "...Sora!" He was alive?! He was alive!!

 

Sora dropped the man at the sound of his name. His eyes followed the path of the body. He watched the man gasp for air. He angrilly kicked the man in the head.

 

Kairi gasped and reached forward when she saw it happen, but Roxas's arms grabbed her and kept her from going any farther.

 

Sora turned around numbly and looked at Kairi and Roxas. He noticed his blood all over the ground.

 

Kairi blinked in shock. He was bleeding badly, his blood on the floor. She stared at him, her hands over her mouth. How could this happen...again?

Roxas kept his eyes on Sora as he kept Kairi in place, scanning him. He was bleeding again where he was shot earlier, a deep gash in replacement. His eyes flitted to the man on the floor, his blue eyes a piercing blue as he looked at the "doctor" in anger.
