KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi glanced at him and then went back to staring at the wall. "Okay, I guess. Not terrible, not good. Just...okay."

 

Sora nodded and looked down at the floor. He felt sad and relieved at the same time. She wasn't feeling horrible, but at the same time, she wasn't feeling good. He really wished it was him in that bed instead of her. He had that thought many times since this whole thing began, and he doubt that it would go away anytime soon.

 

Kairi flitted her eyes to him curiously but then she looked at her hands. She messed with her fingernails before stopping and looking up at her feet. She crossed her ankles over each other and sighed.

 

Sora continued to look at the ground. He could almost laugh at how long Roxas seemed to disapear from the room every day. He kind of wondered where he was going every day. But then again, it wasn't any of his buissiness.

 

Kairi looked down at her lap. "I'm sorry..."

 

Sora looked up at her curiously. "What for?"

 

"Everything," she said simply. Kairi looked up at him. "You've gone through so much lately. First it's...the shooting. Then you have the heart attacks, and then the whole doctor incident. Now you're sick." She shook her head. "And here you are back in the hospital because of me." She looked at her hands. "It's not fair."

 

Sora shook his head and looked at her with sad, gentle eyes. "It's not your job to apologize for those things." He said softly. "And I don't care that I'm back in the hospital. I just want you to be alright." He looked down at his hands again.

 

"Thanks," Kairi said softly. She bit her lip.

 

Sora looked up at her and gave her a small smile.

 

Kairi's lips formed a weak smile and then she looked at her hands. That still didn't explain the fact that he was being treated unfairly. She was glad it was her in the bed, and not Sora.

 

Sora looked towards the window again. He didn't like awkward silence.

 

Kairi sighed and thought that she would end the silence that hung in the air. "I wonder when they're going to let me out of here." She looked at the door.

 

"The doctor was in a here while you and Roxas were sleeping." He told her. "He said that if you'r symptoms go away, you should be out of here soon."

 

"Symptoms?" Kairi looked at him. "You mean the sharp pains?

 

Sora shrugged. "He didn't say."

 

"Oh." Kairi looked at her legs. "That's good..."

 

Sora smiled softly. "Yeah, it is."

 

Kairi nodded. She remembered that once she was out of here, and that the worry over her was over, that they'd then have to worry about the police searching for him. Just the thought of it made her want to stay in the hospital. That way they wouldn't have to worry about that anymore.

 

Sora looked out the window again as the uncomfortable silence filled the room. Why was the silence so awkward today. He sighed quietly and leaned back in his chair. He shut his eyes tiredly.
