KH- Fast Food Madness!

The doctor read his clipboard as he spoke. "Compared to last time, she's doing better. She'd taken quite a spill, but the medicine we gave her helped her pain."

 

Sora let out a sigh of relief. He leaned back in his chair and spoke again. "How long do you think the recovery will take?" He didn't want her to be in pain for a long while; he wanted it to end as soon as possible.

 

The doctor brought his clipboard to his side. "If her symptoms die down, she should be out of here soon." He glanced down at Sora. "We just want to make sure that she is fully recovered and well enough to go back out there."

 

Sora looked up to the doctor and nodded. "Of course." He agreed quietly. There was no way he was letting Kairi get out of that bed until she was all better. He knew what could happen if they left the hospital too early. He had seen it in himself. There was no way he was going to let that happen to Kairi.

 

He smiled slightly. "I'll be back in a little while to see how she's doing." The doctor lowered his voice to a whisper. "Meanwhile, you should be sure to take care of yourself as well. We don't want anyone else in a hospital bed." He patted Sora on the shoulder and left the room quietly.

 

Sora smiled softly at the doctor and continued to stare at Kairi as he left. He was so worried about her that he didn't think he could sleep again. He rose from his seat and walked towards the window. He stood there and watched life pass by him, feeling sadness in the pit of his stomach.

 

Roxas opened his eyes tiredly and sniffed, shaking his head as he tried to wake himself up.

 

Sora continued to look out the window. His eye caught onto a few cars as he dozed off, not really thinking or seeing anything, just looking outside and watching normal people live their normal lives.

 

Roxas glanced up at the figure next to him. "Hey, man," he said groggily, leaning his elbow against the chair and rubbing his eyes. He was going to have to walk his sleep off again today.

 

Sora snapped out of his daze at the sound of Roxas' voice. He turned around and looked down at his friend. "Hey." He greeted softly, noticing that Kairi was still asleep.

 

Roxas blinked as he looked around the room, seeing Kairi's sleeping form and noticing how bright the room suddenly was. He stood up and stretched. "I'll be back later. I'm going to go walking around." Roxas started for the door.

 

Sora silently nodded and turned towards the window again.

 

Roxas left the room, closing the door softly behind him and walking down the hall.

Kairi slept silently, taking in a quiet breath and letting it out slowly.

 

Sora pulled out a chair and sat down as he watched the outside world. Gosh, everything looked so peaceful. He wished he felt more at peace. But he couldn't shake off the unsureness he felt inside. He wasn't the same person he was a few weeks ago, and he wasn't sure he liked the change he saw in himself. He sighed quietly.

 

Kairi's shoulders went up as she took in a deep breath. She turned her head slightly and exhaled, relaxed for the first time as she slept.

 

How could he go back after all this had happened to him? He had been so happy before. So childish. He wanted that feeling back, but he wasn't sure how to get it. He rest his head in his hand again and shut his eyes a little.

 

Kairi heard nothing as she laid there. She opened her eyes slightly, still a little sleepy. She blinked a few times due to the bright light coming through the window, but she saw a familiar figure. A small smile made its way across her lips.

 

Sora sighed softly and shook his head sadly. He couldn't go back. He understood that now. He could only go forward? But what did the future have in store for him. He ran a hand through his hair.

 

The smile faded. Her eyebrows furrowed in wonder. Something was wrong, she knew that gesture. Whenever he ran his hand through his hair like that he was either embarrassed or upset. There was nothing to be embarrassed about while he was here with her, staring out the window. However, there were too many things to be upset about. Kairi didn't know what it was that was bothering him now, but she knew it probably wasn't good.

 

Sora looked down and watched all the people outside. He had to stop thinking so much. It was too painful to think about things like that.
