KH- Fast Food Madness!

"I guess we were asleep for longer than I thought," Kairi said. She slept for a long time. Maybe she was well rested enough to leave the hospital...A painful throb in her head immediately dismissed that thought. Her head was still hurting her. Terrific.

 

Sora silently nodded, though he disagreed. It hardly felt like he had slept at all. He mentally shrugged it off. He was up now.

 

Roxas stood up and stretched. "I don't know about you, but I'm still a little sleepy. I'm gonna go walk it off." Roxas walked toward the door and left the room.

 

Sora smiled and watched Roxas as he left. That was probably a good idea. Too bad it felt like his body weighed a ton. He didn't know why, but he felt really heavy. Maybe it was from the medicine he was given. Oh well, at least he wasn't throwing up again. He was glad for that.

 

Kairi watched as Roxas left the room and then closed her eyes. Another throb of pain came to the back of her head. Closing her eyes helped reduce the pain. She wanted her medicine from the doctor, but something that wouldn't make her sleep. She was tired of sleeping.

 

Sora turned towards Kairi and saw her resting her eyes. He smiled a little and put his hand on hers.

 

Kairi held his hand and smiled slightly, opening her eyes. She looked at him and then looked away when another shot of pain came through her head again. Was this supposed to be happening?

 

"Kairi?" Sora questioned when he saw the pained look on her face. He continued to stare at her.

 

Kairi didn't look at him. "I'm okay, Sora."

 

Sora was unsure. She didn't sound alright. He rose to his feet and looked down at her, trying to decide whether she was telling the truth or not.

 

Kairi didn't meet his gaze. She knew that he'd look worried, and she didn't want to see that. It'd only make her feel worse. Another dose of pain shot through the back of her head.

 

She definitly looked like she was in pain. "What's wrong?" He asked softly, slowly sitting back down in his seat.

 

Kairi closed her eyes. "Nothing. I'm fine." She didn't want Sora to worry, but just even saying that could make things worse. She was just trying to be strong and fight off the pain.

 

"Kairi." He said firmly. He knew that she was covering something up, and he didn't like it.

 

Kairi winced. It wasn't only a wince because of the pain in her head, but at the firmness of his voice. He was unhappy with her. Who wouldn't be, though? She was lying, hiding her pain.

 

Sora looked away. "Sorry." He said quietly. He shouldn't have done that. She was in a hospital bed and he had just upset her. More importantly, he had upset the one he loved. He looked down at the floor and took in a deep breath.

 

Kairi exhaled quietly through her nose. What was he apologizing for? He hadn't done anything. She was the one at fault here--lying and trying her hardest to hide the pain she was dealing with, when she was only causing others pain. And she hated doing that, especially to the person she loved. Kairi bit her lip in both regret and pain as the throbbing continued in a rhythm she now despised.

 

Sora sighed quietly. He had hurt Kairi, and now she wasn't speaking to him. The silence was more cutting than words could ever do.

 

Kairi squeezed her eyes shut and winced again. God, that pain was getting worse! Why was it still hurting her?! She'd had her surgery and had her medicine. When the pain came again, she felt tears form in her eyes. She didn't open her eyes though, because the pain was much worse when they were open.

 

Sora looked up at Kairi and then quickly looked away. He had made her so upset that she wouldn't even look at him. He felt tears form in his eyes as he stared at the ground.
