Kairi smiled softly as she shook her head. As long as she got to see him, that was all the reward she needed.

 

Sora shook his head, still blushing. "No, I made you a promise." He smirked sheepishly. "Roxas, get out."

 

Roxas smiled and let out a chuckle as he walked away. He opened the door and walked down the hallway to get some water.

Kairi giggled and looked back at Sora.

 

Sora pointed at Kairi. "Nobody hears about this, OK?" Sora began to flail his arms and jump for joy, his face as red as a tomato.

 

Kairi nodded, and when he started, she laughed her head off. He always knew how to make her feel better, and she loved him for his optimism and care.

 

Sora began to laugh so hard that he had to stop dancing. He grabbed his stomach and sat back down, giving an embarrassed smile to Kairi.

 

Kairi giggled as she settled down. She sighed once her laughter halted and she stared at him with a smile on her face. "Thanks, Sora."

 

Sora pointed at her again after his laughter had quieted down. "Remember, you're sworn to secrecy." He grinned.

 

She smiled. "Promise." Kairi looked at him for a second and then glanced down at her lap. She leaned back against her pillows, sitting up as she fiddled with her fingers. "You know...I was scared of coming back."

 

Sora's smile faded as she changed the subject. "What do you mean?" He asked gently.

 

"Because of what happened last time we were here," she said. Kairi turned her head to look at him, and regretted changing the subject when she saw the look on his face.

 

Sora gave her a small smile. "It's alright now though. This time, nothing bad is going to happen." He promised.

 

Kairi smiled slightly. She could trust him.

But they were in the public eye now. What if someone noticed who they actually were?

 

"Hm?" Sora looked at her. "I know that face. What're you thinking?" He asked her, trying to keep the mood light.

 

Kairi shook her head, keeping her smile on her face and letting out a small giggle. "Nothing." Right after what's happened to her and now that temporary happiness had returned to their lives, Kairi didn't want to say anything that would drag Sora back down. This was the side of him she loved to see.

 

"You're sure?" Sora pressed, keeping his eyes locked on Kairi's.

 

Kairi nodded. They'd gotten this far, hadn't they? They surely would've been busted by now. So why was she ruining the moment with her own worried thoughts? Kairi sighed, switching her thoughts over and thinking about what the mysterious weight had been on her chest. It scared her back there, and she never wanted to go through that again.

 

Sora leaned back in his chair and sighed. He closed his eyes tiredly. He wasn't feeling too great, but at least it wasn't as bad as yesterday. He gave a small smile.

 

Kairi glanced over at him and smiled, a natural reaction whenever she saw Sora. "Sorry if I worried you," she said. That was something she'd been wanting to get off her chest for a while. After collapsing in the restaurant and then not waking up in the hospital, a "sorry" was what he deserved.

 

Sora opened his eyes and smiled at her. "It's alright. It's not like I haven't worried you a lot lately."
