KH- Fast Food Madness!

Roxas nodded and walked to the door, pushing and holding it open for him.

Kairi blinked. "Where...are we going?" Why was her speech coming so slow? What exactly did she do?

 

"Just relax, Kairi." Sora told her as he walked through the door. "You're going to feel better soon. I promise." He didn't care if he was going to get caught. Kairi was his only concern at that moment. He walked towards the hospital at a fast pace, ignoring onlookers.

 

"Is it..that bad?" Kairi asked, catching people staring at her. She glanced at Sora, blinking, trying to clear her blurry vision. She turned her head, but then winced. She stopped walking. Kairi brought a hand to her head. "Sora...my head..." It was hurting her even more now, and her vision was becoming worse. What had she done?

Roxas gave the onlookers dirty looks, causing them to turn the other way. What, was seeing an injured person not normal around here? He rolled his eyes and looked ahead, seeing Kairi stopped on the sidewalk. He ran up to them, his eyes concerned.

 

Sora stared at her worriedly. He slowly bent his knees a little so he could pick her up. He took her in his arms and looked ahead at the hospital. It was close. "Let me carry you." He said softly as he began to walk again, picking up his pace.

 

Kairi didn't say anything, unable to. Her head hurt so bad that she couldn't keep her eyes open. The light outside was blinding and the sounds on the street hurt her ears. The tension was eased ever so slightly on her head when her eyes were closed, but it wasn't enough. Her head was still painful and she could feel the damp hair on her head from her blood and wound. Kairi leaned her head against Sora's shoulder.

Roxas walked behind them, watching people cautiously. People were looking, but when they saw his blue eyes piercing through theirs, they looked away. Roxas turned his head and saw some guy walking up to them.

"Oh, my! Is she alright?"

"We've got it under control," Roxas said firmly.

"Can I help at all?" The man was walking with them now.

Roxas was getting ticked off. Didn't people know when to mind their own business? "Step off!" he ordered loudly and firmly, his eyes glaring at the man as he followed Sora and Kairi, the man stopping.

 

Sora turned around for a moment, then looked forward again. He held Kairi closer as they neared the hospital. It was only a block away now. He went faster, nearly running now.

 

Roxas ran after them, following them across the street and onto the sidewalk. People were moving out of their way now.

Kairi bit her lip. The throbbing was making it worse. But she couldn't cry. She couldn't. She bit down harder on her lip as she tried her hardest to prevent the tears from falling.

 

Sora went in the hospital doors and stopped in the middle of the lobby. "We need some help over here!" He yelled, trying to get somebody's attention. He looked down at Kairi and saw the twisted look of pain on her face. He bit his lip and looked up again, searching for doctors with his eyes.

 

Kairi shrank closer into Sora at the loud noise. Even though the yelling hurt her ears, she was glad that she could hear him next to her and feel his presence. But she hated this hospital, it scared her. After the events that happened, the only thoughts running through her mind were that she didn't want to leave Sora's arms. She didn't want something happening that would seperate them.

 

Sora saw a doctor and two nurses coming towards them with a stretcher. He held Kairi a little tighter as he watched the three.

"We'll take her." The doctor told him gently. He seemed like a good man.

Sora loosened his grip a little and laid Kairi down on the stretcher. She looked paler than she had before. He squeezed her hand as he looked down at her with eyes filled with fear. He watched helplessly as the doctor and nurses took her away. He bit his lip.

 

Kairi closed her eyes in pain. No, she wanted to say. Don't seperate us. He's going to be seen. He's going to get caught...because of me. But Kairi couldn't find her voice; it was buried somewhere deep within the pain. The throbbing in her head grew worse as she heard the voices of the doctors wheeling her through the hall.

Roxas stood next to him, watching Kairi get taken away. "She'll be okay," he said to Sora.

 

Sora could only nod as he swallowed the lump in his throat. He hoped Roxas was right...

 

Roxas watched as the stretched disappeared through swinging doors. Hopefully this wouldn't end up like last time.

Kairi heard the beeping in her ears. It kept beeping...and beeping...and beeping. What was that thing? It was annoying. She tried shifting her position, but she couldn't. Huh?! Kairi couldn't move, but she could hear everything. She was awake, right? Of course she was; she couldn't sleep with that beeping going on. Kairi tried to open her eyelids, but she couldn't. What the-- An agonizing pain shot through the back of her head, interrupting the thought in her mind. It hurt so bad. That's right, she had hurt herself. But why was she unable to move? She couldn't even open her eyes, but she could hear everything.... What was going on?

 

Sora sat beside Kairi's bed, looking down at her. She looked so fragile. Now he knew what it had been like for her when he was the one lying in bed. Being on this side was almost as bad as being the injured one. He didn't like this at all. He grabbed her hand and stroked it with his thumb.

 

Sora? Kairi felt the touch on her hand. Sora?! She couldn't move her muscles. Was she paralyzed? Or was she just too weak? She decided it was just weakness. Her head did hurt her after all, and maybe that had some kind of effect.

Roxas leaned against the wall, staring at the floor. He was thankful they hadn't gotten caught. He was sure that someone would've recognized them, but he was proven wrong. The blond raised his eyes to glance at her sleeping form and the boy beside her, and then looked down.

 

Sora bit his lip as he looked down at Kairi's unmoving body. He hated seeing her like this. He hoped that she would wake up soon. He continued to stroke her hand gently as he sat there, staring off into space.

 

Namine ran into the hospital room, breathing heavily. "I..walked...into...McDonalds..." She caught some air."Saw...blood...on...the....floor." She blinked slowly."Some guy on...the street...said you guys.....went to the hospital..." She breathed deeply again. She looked at Sora."Is she okay?"

 

Sora slowly shook his head. "We don't know yet." He kept his eyes on Kairi's hand in his.
