KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi reached out for him, her mouth opening to say something, but he was already out of the room. She glanced at the computer, then at the door, and then looked at Roxas. "...Go check on him...please."

Roxas nodded without questioning, a firm look in his eyes and he walked out the door.

Once he was out of the room, Kairi stared at the computer screen. She pulled the chair out and sat down, putting her hand on the mouse. She hovered the arrow over the link, hesitating as she bit her lip. What if all they've done was for nothing --- all the running and hiding... What if Sora was wanted by the FBI? Then everything they'd done was a waste, and there was no getting away from it. With a shaking hand, Kairi clicked the link. There was information on the people below the scroll and she read it, biting on her lip. She scrolled down slowly, afraid of what she might've seen. There were a few pictures and some had no photo at all. She looked at the names and stopped when she reached the bottom. She froze, her eyes widening.

Sora stared out the window angrilly. Why?! Why was this happening to him? What could the FBI possibly want him for? He had beat up the doctor and the thugs in self defense. He hadn't hit anyone else, did he? He didn't even hit the robber! The robber. Sora froze. Of course. Sora was at the jail that day when all that chaos happened. And the robber was sent into the dark realm. They thought Sora killed the guy. Sora slammed his fist on the table and cursed under his breath.

 

Roxas jumped slightly when he heard the slam of Sora's fist. "Hey! Take it easy."

Kairi read the information on the article and then stood up, not closing the window. She stumbled out of the room on wobbly legs and went through the kitchen.

 

Sora turned around and saw Roxas approach him.

 

"Relax for a second," Roxas said as he walked up to Sora.

Kairi walked through the kitchen toward the main part of the restaurant.

 

Sora sighed angrilly but obeyed. He put his hands back on his lap and looked down.

 

Kairi walked through the kitchen, hitting a pan on the counter with her elbow. She started to stop when it fell and it landed on her foot, then echoing as it hit the ground. This caused her to jump slightly in pain and she felt her foot slide from underneath her, too quick for her to catch herself. "Agh!" she cried, falling backward from the slippery puddle on the floor, ending up hitting her head on the cabinet behind her. She collapsed on the ground on her side, her head hitting the floor hard.

Roxas glanced over at the sound of the pan hitting the floor, his eyes widening when he heard her scream. "Kairi?"

 

Sora heard a thud and quickly jumped out of his seat. "Kairi?!" He ran to her side and saw her lying on the ground. He skid to a stop near her head and gently put his hands under her head. "Are you alright?"

 

Roxas ran behind Sora, standing next to him when they reached Kairi.

Kairi winced at the pain in her head. She opened her eyes, her vision blurry for a second. She blinked, clearing it, seeing Sora next to her and Roxas standing next to him. She brought a hand to the back of her head and closed her eyes, biting her lip.

 

Sora shift his hand a little, careful not to let Kairi's head fall again. He saw blood. "Roxas, go get that blanket. I left it in the office." They needed something to keep Kairi's head comfortable, and that was the only thing he could think of. Keeping one hand behind her head, he moved his other arm under her legs. Then he shift his right arm to under her arms. He gingerly picked her up and walked towards one of the booths.

 

Roxas nodded and ran past them toward the office.

Kairi closed her eyes tightly at the pain in her head. It hurt, badly. How did she let that happen? Why wasn't she more careful? She bit her lip harder as the pain throbbed in her head. She felt herself shifting and opened her eyes. Sora had picked her up and she looked away, embarrassed.

Roxas pushed the door open and walked over by the desk, grabbing the blanket off the floor.

 

Sora's eyes quivered as he looked down at Kairi. She really looked like she was in a lot of pain. And there was nothing he could do about it. He kicked a table out of the way and gently laid her down in one of the booths.

 

Kairi kept her hand on her head as she was laid down. She looked at Sora, seeing the look on his face. "I'm sorry..." she murmured, flitting her eyes away.

Roxas went back through the kitchen, and that's when he saw the blood on the floor.

 

Sora shook his head, fending off her apology. She had nothing to be sorry for. He softly moved Kairi's hair out of her face with his right hand.

 

Kairi smiled slightly at him, but it vanished as she winced again. What had she done to her head? She sat up and removed her hand from the back of her head. Her eyes widened. Blood...? She looked at Sora, her eyes worried, and then she glanced back at her hand, her own blood on her fingertips and palm.

Roxas studied the blood on the floor. She might've cracked her head open. He walked into the main part of the restaurant, looking around for them. Then he saw the table kicked over and saw them. He started walking toward them.

 

Sora turned around and saw Roxas coming. He walked towards him and met Roxas halfway. "Do you think we should take her to the hospital?" He asked softly enough that Kairi wouldn't be able to hear him.

 

Roxas glanced at Kairi and then back at him. "I don't know. Her blood's on the floor in the kitchen, and I don't know how much she's lost already. She might've cracked her head open," he whispered.

Kairi stared at the blood on her hand. What...? How...? She couldn't even come up with the right question to ask herself. She put her hand on her head again and felt her hair wet, and she knew that she was bleeding excessively. She winced as she touched what she knew was her wound. It stung for a few seconds and she brought her hand back down. More blood.

 

Sora bit his lip. "What should we do?" Sora glanced back at Kairi and saw blood on her hand. His eyes quivered again, tears begining to appear.

 

"Potions don't work here," Roxas said to himself. "We're going to have to take her to the hospital..."

Kairi's hand started shaking and she blinked. Her vision was blurring. Tears? No, she didn't feel any sort of wetness on her eyelashes. She blinked again, trying to clear her vision, but it was spinning now. She gripped the seat of the booth cushion, trying to steady herself as the room spun.

Roxas thought over everything. Kairi needed professional medical help, and niether Sora or he were in for the job. But the police were out there looking for them, how could they leave? They had to, though.

 

Sora nodded and took the blanket out of Roxas' hand. He walked over to Kairi and wrapped her tightly. It was cold outside. He tucked it underneath her and picked her up, ignoring his own aching muscles. "Let's go." He said to Roxas. They had to get her to a hospital. Fast.
