Just....Why?

Well, since I'm completely naive about most things and didn't know this, I might have to rethink my opinion a little bit.....but I still more power to you if you really want to endanger your life just to see how long you can hold on. I'm pretty sure the bull is thinking of sweet revenge when it's in the ring
I mean, I'm against hurting animals for anything, even for something simple, and I think things like this are kinda dumb, since it could hurt a person in one way or another, but if you're really going to do it, I'm just not going to care. You decided to put yourself in there, so you're getting no sympathy from me....well ok, if they died maybe a little bit, but not much.

 

Sentimental memory time:

I remember when my pet parakeet escaped from it's cage about 10 years ago. I couldn't stop crying until some nice lady my uncle knew talked me down and said that it's actually better this way because now it's free.

 

So, what about killing an animal to survive in the wild?

What about skydivers, and snowboarders, and roller coaster riders? They do these dangerous things for the adrenalin, just as a bull fighter does when stepping into the ring. Along with wrestlers.
If any of them got hurt, you would show no sympathy? You say a little, but still. These things aren't done to take pleasure in harming an animal, it is about honor, and tradition. And for that, and that reason alone, I respect that.

@Omega-Xis and Rhiscx: If you've ever seen a bullfight, you'd know that there is only a vanishingly small chance of a bull actually harming anyone in a bull fight. There are usually more than ten people fighting the bull over the course of the fight. All except for one of them fight with ranged weapons. If I recall correctly: First there are some in training bull fighters who throw long, brightly colored, barbed darts into the bull to start it bleeding and to make it waste its energy raging. They have these walls to hide behind where the bull physically cannot reach them. Next up people toss some spears into the bull, smae kind of deal. When the bull is exhausted and barely able to and rage anymore, then you see the matador strut onstage with a sword. He will generally flounce around a bit evading and provoking the tired animal. If he seems like he's in danger some of the previous people distract the bull for him. Then he kills the bull, putting out of its misery so they can drag the corpse around the arena.

Just saying the argument about people getting hurt is kind of invalid. You're more likely to die from a lightning strike or a shark attack.

My mind is failing.

 

And of course the first thing I learn on the day I go back to school is how bull fights work....this is going to be a great semester, I just know it. *sarcasm*
