Hey, c'mon now. Platinum was good. It had the music, the difficulty... The frikkin' Distortion World was awesome... Some of the Gym Leaders weren't total ******s. Pretty much all it was missing was... well, Team Rocket.

If by fixed you mean had it's testicles lopped off with a battle axe, then yes, they did fix it. =D

Gold and Silver made me kind of sad, after going to the Kanto region, and having both Viridian Forest demolished pratically, and I couldn't go inside the Seafoam Islands for pokemon. RS looked it was trying too hard, and DP...it had some interesting points, but it was doing the same (particularly the forms).

DPPt fixed the battle system; every attack was classified as Physical or Special, as opposed to being arbitrarily assigned one based on type. Not only does this make more sense, but it allows many Pokemon to more effectively utilize their movesets and broadened the number of Pokemon that stand a chance in both casual and competitive play. That, and after the embarrassment that was the R/S/E soundtrack, the music finally stopped sucking; several basic forms of Pokemon from the first and second generations got much-needed evolutions that pushed them beyond joke status; the Team wasn't as good as Rocket but wasn't as pathetic as Magma/Aqua; several rival-like figures were featured to diversify the number of scripted encounters; and in Platinum the difficulty was ramped up, possibly beyond that of Gold and Silver's main quest.
