he speaks truths. And honestly, all this golden age talk pisses me off from time to time. When that golden age music was first released, no one said "WOAH THIS IS HIP-HOPS BEST WE CAN ONLY SUCK ASS FROM HERE THERE IS NO GOING UP" no when them joints dropped people said "Yo thats cool, but that older **** was better" People always say old **** is better because you don't know what you got till its gone. And everyone loves to talk about the old days like there was no garbage rappers. Vanilla Ice? That was the Soulja Boy of the time. In about 20 years we're gonna forget the garbage and remember the **** like Carter III selling a million, Wayne going rock, Kanye's 808s, Rick Ross vs 50, Dre and Em's come back, Blackout 2, and much more.

But also, looking forward in 09, Hip-Hop is going to get really good. Cudi, Dre, Charles, More Eminem, all around the corner. **** artists these days are more creative in my opinion. Look at KiD CuDi. You can't even classify some of his songs as one genre and his album is being tackled like a movie. His doing like 4 movie trailers and posters for it and the songs I've heard actually have a bit of an epic feel to them. Then you got Charles Hamilton who is dropping his album for free and then releasing a hard copy with a DVD of animated videos for the songs and is letting fans desing artwork for each song and even letting fans post on his blog to let everyone help with the movement for the album.[**** yeah I posted on there go me] So I'd say hip-hop is gonna be just fine.

    actually it isnt...

Styles of Music go through several changes over the course of severl decades..

    example..

Pop music in the 90's in much different than it was in today, example todays Pop could be called "Electro" Pop, do to the more techno beats behind them..

Rock has stayed mostly the same,

    Punk Rock is....well...punk rock

Hip Hop however, has changed into a R&B Pop Rap threesome.

Hip Hop songs tend to (on average) has some rapping, and some good singing.
Example: Right Round, could be conciderd Hip hop, Sugar (that new one) could also beconciderd Hip Hop

    Rap:...Raps Rap

so..the type of music doesnt really die...it just changes to the veiws and outlooks of the people in that decade.

I haven't heard much hip-hop/rap in a while. The only sutff I've heard recently is Lil'Wayne, which was very annoying. Not saying all of rap is. I personally am a Rock fan, but I have respect at least for hip-hop/rap.
Someone I know is so hardcore metal that he'd come in here saying "Rap sucks! I listen to Dragonforce!".

Hip Hop isn't dead at all. Maybe good hip hop that actually meant something (in my opinion) may be dying or rare, but there are still those few good tracks that aren't taking about drugs and sex and such. You could compare that fact to nearly all kinds of music though, not just hip hop. So nope, it's not dead.

I think it is, because I don't consider rap to be hip-hop. I just think rap is rhyming to a beat about strippers..

I actually believe so, i mean does everyone not notice how everyone is just borrowing the lyrics/beats of older techno songs?

Thats called sampling, which is like paying homage. Also, Kanye did that Daft Punk sample major justice.

    Ignorant fuck.

With all the artists saying "I'm going to save hip hop", it was saved a long time ago.

Mainstream rap is dying, but hip-hop hasn't died.
