Pointers you say? Hm I guess, read the rules, try and get along with everyone, don't rant us and try if you can use proper spelling and grammar (Since some of us can be grammar nazis XP)

Pointer 1: Don't poach people's avatars.

Pointer 2: If you do poach an avatar, don't poach the super-mod's avatar.

Pointer 3: If you poach the super-mod's avatar, and the super-mod criticises you for it, calmly remove the avatar without argument.

Pointer 4: Ask for an avatar in the Graphics Request forum.

They're not the problems that come up most often, but they seem to be fairly relevant to this particular situation.
