I'm 200-Some Pages into "The Hunger Games"

I liked Katniss. She basically had to put her personality on hold to keep her family alive. I find it strange that you say that it's a shock that her mother didn't kick her out, because her mother needs Katniss to survive. Katniss sacrificed everything to keep her family alive, and I find that her actions speak more about her personality than her words. I find it appalling that you say it was out of character for her to volunteer for Prim, when everything she did was to keep her alive.

 

I am reminded of this fact every time I try to give it "another shot."

I am really kidding because Attack of the Clones is my secret guilty pleasure

Huh, I hadn't seen that. I thought at one point it seemed kinda like she was choked to death by Vader, in an odd sort of cross planetery choking thing. Just kinda assumed she couldn't handle the truth.
Star Wars is crazy, yet I will always love it until Han Solo is edited out and replaced with another wookiee. Then I'll cry.

He force choked her back on Mustafar, and she passed out. Obi-Wan just sort of left her there? And then I think... Threepio was supposed to bring her back on the ship? Which is also puzzling, consider I'm pretty sure Threepio has neither the strength nor the joints required to do so.

Well, there are people who are there and are obviously on their side, even though they may not appear to be since it is Katniss's point of view. And even before the Games, she was like this to people who were kind to her. The mayor's daughter (forgot her name) seemed very kind, as well as Peeta with the whole bread thing.


I kind of like the Star Wars prequels...except the second one...

 

Oh gawd that's a derp. People get choked allot in Star Wars and live so I didn't think that was enough to kill her, thought he...thought choked her or somthing when she was in the hospital...that's a derp..

I thought she died of heartbreak. Seriously not a stretch with how great the prequel trilogy's writing is.

 

I really don't remember too well, lol. But she was choked for a while and also pregnant.

That was the bullshit excuse, the robot was all "she has lost the will to live!11!!" and obi was all "oh no"
but I'm pretty sure that we all know that can't really kill someone :l

 

Maybe she just killed herself out of personal will because she was sick of the horrible writing...

Katniss is rough around the edges, yes. But considering that her father died and due to that her mother basically disconnected from life for a bit, forcing for Katniss to grow up before she should of, and become the breadwinner of the family

Isn't going to make the happiest person in the world. Also, the constant worry of her sister prim, the peacemakers always watch over them with an iron fist, trying to make it from day to day with food, and more.

She wouldn't be a nice protagonist.
Some may hate her
and some like her
