...I'm just going to post this here, since I don't know where else to put it.

Anyways, there is absolutely no sound comming from this computer. At all. I've cranked the sound up to max, with both the computer speakers and headphones (not at the same time, of course), and there's no sound comming from either. I tried playing stuff on YouTube, tried playing a game, and tried makeing an AMV, and there's no sound from any of them. Does anyone know what's wrong with my computer, and know how to fix it?

Yeah. I checked that a couple minutes ago. It's securely plugged in.

If you mean is the sound on on the computer it'self, than yes. The speakers won't relay the sound....nor the headhones...

Hmm...I've had this problem before, you may have to change around the sound settings.

Make sure they are in the right jak...

If they are try going to Start >> Control Panel >> Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices >> Sounds and Audio Devices.

Make sure it's at high, and nothing is on mute. Then go to speaker volume and do the same.

It could be that your sound chip is simply dead. The same thing happened to me. You'll probably have to replace it. =/

Go to the website for the computer brand(ex. HP, Dell, Mac, etc.) Then go to the drivers/update section(depends on the site) and update the sound drivers. Happened to me a week or two ago. You probably just have to update the drivers.

I took a look at the settings, and they're balanced.

The speaker wires are attached to the speakers. So yeah..

I also noticed that the speakers are makeing a faint hissing noise comming from the speakers.

Yeah, I unmuted one thing, and nothing happened.

If all those don't work then your motherboard is lacking a sound card.

Hmm...Check the properties, there maybe one that isn't checked and maybe you have to turn it up.

They make that sound when turned up really high, all speakers and stuff do that.

    ....I hope not....-_-;

....I can't find the section on the site that your talking about. Would it be under anything other than drivers/update? Because I don't see that....

Has your computer been randomly turning off lately?

If so part of your motherboard was fried which could also effect your Sound card.

That or your Sound card is dead.

Has anyone been on it that would have done something to make this happen, accident or not?

    Hmm...

Well, it acts fine other than the fact that it doesn't make sound. Is there a way to tell if the Sound Card is dead?

My dad is the only one, and he keeops the controlls the same all the time.

You would have to get it checked by some computer hardware store. Or if you expirienced. Remove the casing for your motherboard and check for yourself. I don't know the symptons though.
