Peasants were, for the most part, highly illiterate!

 

Yeah, I mean this guy is pretty much entirely right. Studying in order to get good grades and get a good higher education, enabling you to attain a steady job and start a family is entirely stupid and a prime example of letting your life go to waste. More people should spend their time not educating themselves.

Just for the record, both Wolfie and myself are student-athletes, meaning we play sports AND read books. Fascinating concept, I know.

 

It's better reading about it then witnessing it, I'd say.

Plus, we can read about how to make atomic bombs so... yeah. *Ahem* Shutting up now.

 

It's called being cultural. Think of a job interview: Is the boss going to hire the high school graduate football star who bearly made it by or someone who went to college, read a lot of books, and is more than qualified for the job. I will end in the long run, being the CEO of some company while some baseball star is cleaning up the vomit I purposely planted.

Simple terms: People who can't use proper grammar, puncuation, spelling, capitalization... and people who can't read.
