"According to my sister, you were always yelling and screaming at her class because the students in there were tough to deal with, and you even screamed at me once, and I'm still not sure why.

My sister came home crying sometimes about you yelling at her class, and that's the majority of what made me bitter toward you. Maybe I'm wrong, please tell me she was just being dramatic, because I don't like it when I dislike someone without speaking to them about it first.

I'm sorry, but I just don't think yelling is a good way to teach anyone, and I would say this directly to you, but I don't go to that school anymore."

    What did I just do?

Well it was nice knowing you hope I can still see you in another life. :D
But seriously it really depends on who's at fault maybe it's the teacher's for yelling for no reason, maybe it's your sister's for doing something that made the teacher angry or maybe it's the class' fault for annoying the teacher causing her to yell at the class and your sister was just part of the class but she was not doing anything that the other kids were doing

I want to see his reaction. Probably won't end well, though.

Doesn't matter, and it's not my sister's fault, she's a very shy, quiet person. Either way, she doesn't need to be yelling and screaming at her class. I volunteered at a day care over last summer, and that was difficult, and all of the kids were a bunch of little *******s, but there would have been no reason for me to yell and scream at them.

    That's just bad personal discipline.

Well, I graduated awhile ago, so it doesn't even matter. I'm an adult, she's an adult, and I'm speaking to her like an adult. Sometimes you just have to say what's on your mind, though I'm anxious anyway, and I just want her to reply, though if she's really mature about it, she won't. She's obsessed with anime though, so I'm sure there won't be a long line of maturity there.

You honestly don't know how normal this is for anyone where I come from. So it's not your sister's fault then it's probably her classmates' fault or something. I really see this as normal because this has happened to me since I started school. The teacher would get angry at the entire class and I had nothing to do with it. Some people really crack after teaching a class that is rude or noisy after a few years, they crack under all the stress they get and they just need to yell.

But it's a high school class. it's not difficult to control high school kids. I'm in-training to be an English teacher, and even throughout my high school years, I was one of those students that was always in the background, watching and observing, that may be creepy, but oh well. Anyway, every single person has their own personality, and you have to take that into account, as well as individual attitude, and depending on the majority of your class, you can deduce how to keep them under control.

Had no idea that it was a high school class. Some teachers really just treat classes as a whole. Maybe she just didn't see who the quiet people were and thought the whole class was noisy some teachers just aren't that observant. Reminds me of my days in grade school.

To me, yelling just seems like a lazy way to teach when you can't do it properly.

Or it's a way of disciplining your students when all other tricks have failed. That teacher must have been teaching for more than a few years to get to yelling. Maybe she just ran out of ways to discipline them after going through so many classes every year.

I often get into political debates on Facebook with former teachers.

They usually start nice with a mild disagreement and end with comments along the lines of "HOW DID YOU EVEN GRADUATE?" and "YOU'RE A TEACHER? YOU'RE WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM!"

i dont blame her for yelling kids are awful these days, and teachers dont get payed well enough for what they have to deal with on a daily basis, so that adds even more stress to the job. you have to deal with terrible people all day who dont respect what you do, and then get payed pennies for all your hard, unappreciated work.

This is true, but only in an extreme generalization. My high school, for example, had very few good teachers. The rest considered themselves more as rule-enforcers than administrators or educators. I'm not saying all teachers are like this, but not all teachers deserve the same respect.
