I just found out the truth about my chemical romance

Well, let's put it this way:

Slayer is a hardcore band, and after seeing them I don't think people want to see an emo (or for those of you that won't classify them as emo) whiny band.

I'd also like to say that Gerard Way himself has classified them as "What else you got emo".

 

I'm Not Ok, being one of them.

There are some in the old albums. But name one other in the current one. ^_^

 

Thats true enough maybe but as someone who likes both Slayer and MCR I dont see why those who had a problem couldnt just go to a different area whilst MCR were playing! Reading always has a lot going on so its not like they were forced to stay and endure the performance. I just thought it was harsh for them to do what they did! Like it got so bad that they nearly threatened to cancel Reading this year!

 

They don't whine much. O.o

As for what happened at Reading. XD That was rather funny, Gerard even encourged them to boo, hiss and throw stuff at them. Lots of bottling goes on at Reading, the lead singer of Panic! got knocked out when a bottle hit his head.

Edit: Good Charlotte got bottled there in 2003, as did Fightstar in 2005, and Aiden last year.

 

Blood:

Saying that they're screwed up.

Mama:

Again, showing self hate.

I listen to emo music too; that's not why I hate MCR, fyi. They just bug me. And the fact they won't admit to be emo is quite annoying. >>

Misty, I hardly think these songs are emo as you might think.
By your anology if MCR is emo then so are the people who like them?

So what, one or 2 lines seem emo, but the concept of the songs in general aren't.

Mama is about a mother who's son has gone to war.

Blood is about a nurse in a hospital who keep on taking blood, or something like that.

As for the other song, I don't know what it's about exactly. XD

the songs arent emo because the band isnt emo, the band isnt emo because they're against everything that emo's apparently do. they're against self-harm, sucicide, etc...
they may be ****ed up, some of them definately were before, but thats the reason they're in My Chem, to stop themselves from being ****ed up.

Well, everyone has their own opinion, I guess.

I just don't like them. They come across to me as 'emo', and I don't think anyone's opinion will change that.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with emo bands. I listen to a lot of them myself.

I don't like My Chemical Romance because I find their songs repetitive and annoying. Gerard Way, in my opinion, has a whiny, agitating voice.

I'll admit: Not all of their songs are terrible. They have talent, but their style doesn't appeal to me.
