Wait, is Hellcat's Recovery Flasher still there from last time? Patapon doesn't become Hellcat's Recovery Flasher. You had it on there when you did the 5.03 exploit, so I assumed you still had it.

To reinstall it, copy the "RECOVERY" folder from the 5.03 download I gave you to ms0:/PSP/GAME/, and the PSP1000_550-GEN-D3.rfp file on the root.

To put it a different way, you remember the green flash picture glitch from the 5.03 exploit, and how that let you run Hellcat's? Well this is the same, except the green flash and the picture have been replaced by Patapon. All it does is let you run Hellcat's. Hellcat's still needs to be installed.

Funnily enough, I think there's a way recently released. Don't upgrade your firmware though. I'll get back to you on it.

Do not turn off without explaining WHERE it is 'stuck' and at what step. If you turn off in the wrong place, then you'll have a brick, a broken PSP. It's fixable if you buy the right stuff, but it's a pain.

So, at which step is it stuck?

@Jaden: Okay, I've got the exploit downloaded. I'll try it out on mine now, to see whether it works on 1000s.

Where is the loading screen? What stage? What were you doing right before the screen appeared?

So what does it say on-screen at the moment? Is it just black? Is it on? What happens if you press the home button?

@Mako: There is a chance, if you do something wrong, or are plain unlucky, you will have to buy a certain tool to fix it. Fortunately, because you have a 1000, that tool can be used. It's the usual method for installing CFW. You can't 'break' the PSP though. I've tried often enough.

And it's been like that for a while?

Give it another two minutes, then power off, and hope it didn't brick. :/

Okay, good news and bad news.

Firstly, your PSP should be okay. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the exploit you did doesn't give kernel access. In other words, you can play homebrew games, but plugins are probably out of the question, as is upgrading to proper CFW.

    This goes for Jaden too.

However, if you buy this, I can talk you through a tutorial that'll allow you to install CFW regardless of your firmware. (But still only on PSP 1000s). It'll also work if your PSP is a brick.
