Pft. It was only a mere discussion. Do I look like a flamer that gives a **** ?. That was a question ya don't need to answer. I'll do it: NO.

Otaku means geek, but like the word hentai, its been warped by time...hentai means pervert but nowadays it means japanese porn. T~T

And you can always go with the easy way out...say it in Katakana...NuBi...I think thats right...

    Exactly, isn't a geek a "noob"?

About the word Hentai, you see a tourist being a pervert, and this Japanese girl yells out "Hentai!" and the tourist is thinking to himself. "Japanese porn? wtf?"

Im sorry but i had to stop and look at this. And how true it is...

erm...not quite...I thought geeks were people obsessed with technology and stuff. But like, in a loud and annoying way that makes them unlikable and unable to get girls or guys.

Geeks can be noobs and noobs can be geeks, but they're not the same thing.

Well, Otaku still is the closest I can find =/

I have no idea where the other people are finding those words, unless they take Japanese lessons and their teacher miraculously knows the Japanese word for "noob", being an Internet addict himself.

Four pages and a flame war later, still no answer. :p

I considered nuubu already, but I decided against it.

Otaku? could work, but it sounds more like it means geek or nerd.

    Temee-re, zen'in nuubu-da-ze!!!

Yeah, even I can't thinnk of anothing other than "otaku" or "nuubu."

But, then again, I don't frequent any Japanese forums (I know I should, but I don't know any good ones.).
