Hell's Rebels: In Hell's Bright Shadow

While things seemed to be going south for the Dottari and the hounds, most of the hounds having dropped already and the Dottari leading them having been felled too, the hounds seemed to grow more desperate than anything else and continued to lash out violently towards the people in front of them. The first of the hounds tried to bite down on Velvet's legs, but the undine proved far too nimble for the hound to actually sink its teeth into them. Reno, however, was not so lucky. As the hound bit into his leg, It then jerked its head back with enough force to pull Reno's leg out from under him and send him falling onto the ground.

Houndo 1 attacks Velvet. 1d20 (9) + 2 = 11. Miss.
Houndo 2 attacks Reno. 1d20 (19) + 2 = 21. Hit. Rolls 1d4 (1) +1 = 2 damage.
Because it hit it uses its trip ability. 1d20 (15) beats Reno's CMD. Reno is tripped and now prone.

Velvet looked over to see the hounds stagger the man right by her. The hound that was in front of him was looking a little weaker than the last time she attacked it. While the hound's guard was down, Velvet decided to take advantage of the situation and readied her rapier. She slowly closed in on the hound and swooped in for an attack. The rapier had connected against the hound's body and with one swoop she had taken it down. "B-b-bad dog!" Velvet felt a little proud of herself for being able to fight and defend not only for herself but for others too.

As Valen's wave of sound pierced through the air, fragments of what appeared to be a translucent glassy substance flew forward and cut down all of the thugs. They cried out as they were torn to pieces. However, the man on the ground groaned in his uncoscious state, his body desperately trying to cling to life. His wounds had gotten far more severe, and he was now actually in imminent danger of death due to the shards.

 

There had been a grand total of one dog left and it was because of that Arthur had had the brilliant idea to get a little fancy with his next shot. First he made sure that he was still range of it (if he wasn't, he would move to whichever square got him just within the range of the hound), twirled his gun around his finger and fired off a shot form behind his back. His aim had been true and struck its mark, if his mark was the foot of the hound. Still Arthur was more focused on the fact that the attack had still hit and thus was feeling quite proud of himself.

Andros, watching the melee unfold. saw his chance when the hound flinched at being shot. Ducking to his left afforded him a clear line of fire, and he took the opportunity. His mindblade rocketed forward to cut deep into the dog, severing muscle and organ. The injury rendered Andros's target a bleeding heap on the ground, all but a few steps from death.
