    Actually, an is the same article as a.

    The three articles are:

    The = Definate
    A = Indefinate
    Some = Partative.

    Sorry, I'm just a grammar Nazi.

    As a native speaker, it's easy to think that. But not everyone speaks English, and it is well documented that it is a difficult language to learn for speakers of other languages. It is an extremely irregular language, especially in terms of pronunciation. For every 7 English words, 3 are not pronounced as they are spelled.
    Contrast that with a language like Italian, Spanish or German, where nearly every word is pronounced as spelled.

    English is really hard, imo. I always thought Japanese would be a challenge since it doesnt have any Latin ties, but its actually pretty easy. I know nothing about it, but I always thought Russian or German were hard languages to learn.

    I agree. The spoken language is relatively easy, mainly because the grammar is so minimalist, compared to French or German. But the script... I really think that's difficult.

    As for German, it's not supposed to be terribly difficult. (According to my friends anyways). Yes, the grammar is complex, but it's very regular and structured.

    anythign that doesn't use letters is hard, like many Asian languages. that's because you can't sound anything out.

    Latin and German. O.o'

    Latin is extremely difficult, and for German, I could only stare back with a "wtf" look. :sideways:

    Pretty much, every language is hard to learn when it is at a later stage in life. For me, Hebrew is a native language, but I;m guessing it is pretty difficult to learn. First off, he is she, who is he, and me is who. The language is written from right to left, the letters are unique to Hebrew and Hebrew alone, and the "ch" sound. So, it can be pretty hard to learn.

    Lol, and you're writing in english xD

    Ok, In my personal opinion, German is tough.

    Japanese was not as hard as german, but I'd rank it quite hard to learn.

    My gran talks japanese on my dad's side, and well, she's teaching me, but she talks too damn fast Dx

    Mandarin Chinese is easiest one of the absolute most difficult languages to learn. There are a ton of kanji, voice accents, mood things etc in the language and it is very demanding with structure. I know Russian, Spanish, some Japanese, German and do know a little bit of Mandarin but it is very difficult. On the language difficulty rankings used it is considered a 'class 4' meaning it's extremely difficult to learn when not being a native speaker. English and Japanese can be very difficult too, but no, not at that level. Trust me. lol
