I can not give blood. As it turns out, because I was conceived in Italy during the discovery of Mad Cow disease in 1992, I automatically became a dependent of my parents who were stationed over there for three years, during which my brother was born over there. At first, we thought just my parents and my brother couldn't because they actually lived overseas, but I can't either because of some weird reasoning.

Huh. I can't give blood because I only weigh 105 lb. Your reason is more interesting.

That's a shame :/ What weird reasoning, but I suppose safety first. It seems sad that people who actually want to give blood can't while plenty of people who can don't bother

Yea, agreeing with Amber, you have the most interesting reason.

I just don't give blood because it gives me a migrane. ._.

i can't give blood because i'm not heterosexual

that's a lot more interesting and weird though :v on the bright side, no vampires will be able to devour you without contracting mad cow disease??

That must have been one hell of a background check they did? lol

They told me to come back when I was 19 to give blood which... wtf. Such a random age. I think they didn't believe me about the weight requirement?

Yeah, it's awful. :c I mean I understand HIV is a concern but if they test negative for it then there's not really a problem...

My friend has the rarest blood type in the world and can donate blood to babies. His blood is like medical gold or something.

Wait, aren't you female? I'm pretty sure that it's only a problem for men..

And a lot of places are lifting prohibitions on gay men giving blood, albeit with some dumb conditions.

edit: ok when I say a lot of places I guess I just mean the UK

Pretty sure he has AB-. Dunno what you mean by mutation type, but I don't know that much about blood. He says he never contracted cytomegalovirus (CMV) which I guess most adults get that keeps them from being able to donate blood to infants.

Oh, I think so. He said he's donated at least a gallon by now.

Gives a strange mental image...a milk jug's worth of human blood...

Apparently, the average human can drink up to one pint without throwing up. Dunno why you'd want to, though.

Um, does the government know that heterosexual people can get AIDS and HIV too?
Because that is just stupid and only supports my theory that a good chunck of the population is a bunch of morons.
