Ventus is a guy
Ventus has his darkness manifested
This manifestation is Vanitas
Ventus kicks Vanitas's ass
They fuse into a glowing ball of light
Glowing ball of light wanders the worlds and by COMPLETE chance, ends up near young Sora
Young Sora absorbs glowing ball of light
Ventus and Vanitas is now apart of Sora
This explains why Sora's nobody looks like Ventus and why his older form looks like Vanitas.

manifestation is Master Xehanort
Terra kicks his ass
They fuse into the Xehanort that Ansem the wise found at Hollow Bastion

Or for some stupid reason did he already look like vanitas coincidentally.
