Kesha and Lady Gaga are popular because they were seen as "edgy". The funny thing is though, edgy has become more and more popular that it's not seen as edgy anymore. It's just become regular pop crap and have become less creative. And wearing a dress made out of meat doesn't make you an "musician".

    Here's the thing with media.

    We love the great stuff
    We enjoy the good stuff
We get bored with the okay stuff
We laugh at the bad stuff

Her first was pretty bad, so once it caught the public eye, it went big so that we could all laugh as it together as a meme. This song isn't bad, it is simply okay, and because of that it isn't very entertaining.

That is a complete load of crap and you know it. NOBODY in the music industry writes their own songs. There is no 2deep4u reason for the outfits she wears, only explanations her fans make up. She wears those outfits for one reason: To be noticed.

I feel like the only thing I heard through out this song (because I sure as hell didn't watch it) was "THIS IS MY MOMENT."

    /sigh...

As far as trendy Pop music goes, I think it's okay (considering I haven't wasted my speakers yet). It's something I'm probably going to hear walking by the Gap and it will dissapear off the face of the Earth after 3 months, just like Pop music does.

Good for her for recording something "decent", though.

To be honest, it really wasn't that bad. I didn't particularly like the song, I wouldn't put it on my iPod but compared to Friday her voice is so much nicer and the lyrics actually mean SOMETHING. I don't understand how people think Friday is better than this. Maybe it's because I'm in a drowsy state where my brain is slowly melting out my ears but I thought it at least it was an improvement.

It's an improvement. It's still horrendous, but it's an improvement.

    Just my $0.02.

You know, I really don't get what everyone's problem is. Rebecca Black is a pretty good singer.

A lot of artists have some minor kinks in their songs, but that doesn't make said artists bad.

I find that her voice is like a prepubescent dying ferret and her first song was about the days of the week.

    But I respect your opinion.

Mad haters in this thread. Either talk about how awesome the new song is or how awesome I am. No in-between or betwixt.

*listens to the song, jaw dropping slowly*
Why couldn't we have this voice when she sang Friday?!
This is...a drastic improvement from Friday. Not the best of songs but....better.:\

No, but knowing how to play the piano and still sing well at the same time does. I can understand you may not like Lady GaGa, but no one can say she has no talent, because it'd be wrong.

Just because she sings catchy pop songs and uses technology to give it a "pop" flavor, doesn't mean she's a bad singer. She's got plenty of live stuff, including power ballads. So I suggest checking those out. It may not change your opinion, but it will prove she's not some computer creation.

People do write their own songs in the music industry. Of course, not everyone does, but there's a good number of musicians who can do so. Making a whole album full of songs + tracks that weren't used is hard, though. So in such large scale productions, they do have help.

Katy Perry writes her own songs, and so does GaGa. That's a fact. Adele Adkins writes her own songs, and even goes as far as to record them herself alone. Imogen Heap writes her own things, too. That's just to name a few.

I can't really comment on the outfits. Because I think it obvious that it's for catching attention. Most entertainers do flashy stuff like that, so it's not surprising. I don't know if GaGa has specific reasons for wearing them, however.

I hope Rebecca Black has success. I don't like this single because it's far too nasal, she could do with a vocal coach. She has a good voice, but she needs to flesh it out. People more talented deserve her spot as it stands.

I completely agree with these statements.

These statements can also apply to Justin Bieber, as he is / was supposedly hated, too.

For him, I think it was more of a jealousy thing for becoming famous at a young age.

Holy ****, what the **** is with this thread? People have different taste in music? I never would have freaking guessed it.

Anyway, only listened to half, but I think it's decent especially compared to Friday. Hell, I wouldn't mind this on the radio or even my music library.
Only thing is, when she first says "My moment," I keep expecting it to go "moment, moment, moment!" to the same tune as Friday
