Front seat laws...

That's it, I've had it.

Its now illegal in the state of Washington for anyone under 13 to sit in the front seat of a car.

Being 11, this really makes me angry.
To me it seems pretty pointless.

And I can't run the radio anymore in the car D:

Opinions?

EDIT: For people not willing to READ THE THREAD FIRST:
Don't say it's for our safety. Because we had a law that was much more intellegent for that before where we had to fit the right height/weight requirements so the airbag wouldn't harm us. Thus, giving us this addition is, in my opinion, pointless.

 

I have to sit in the front seet or I get carsick....of course I'm 19 and Norwegian but it's still a silly law.

 

thats almost as stupid as the felony in NY to sell and 18 rated game to people under 18.

We didn't have an age limit before here. It was just weight and height, because of the airbag (It could suffocate small children)

Oh yes, and they also passed a law that if you're under 8 years old, you have to be in a booster seat.

Thats really bad for my sis, because when she was seven she wouldn't fit in a booster seat... its completley pathetic.

That really sucks. I believe the only reason they are doing it is because of the air bags and that they can suffocate small kids in the front seat of a car. I also would get motion sick and sometimes need to sit in the front of the car so it would make me mad if I had kids and they had my issue but I had to follow the stupid law. Maybe they should consider sometime making a compatible air bag for kids too and when in the car with a kid there, you click a button that would be for an airbag for kids before you travel, and then when an adult is there, switch the air bag to the adult version. Something could be done instead of this ridiculous law but people are lazy. I can see why not to have a baby and car seat in the front, but children love to sit up front with a parent. They really seem to want to take the joy out of driving.

 

It's for your guy's safety. If you get in a car accident, the air bag can and most likely will suffocate you. The second reason is because if you are small and frail, the airbag can kill you instantly. I'm 15, and I like that law because it's what keeps my baby brother safe.

 

But the thing is, we had that covered before.
As I said, there was a law saying you had to be the right height and weight so that the airbag wouldn't be of any harm to you. So raising the age is completley pointless.

That makes sense. You are physically able to sit in the front (like weight, height, etc), but you're waiting a while before you can. But of course it makes sense not to allow someone who can be harmed by an airbag to sit in front. But I find it a very weird rule.

 

I just find it pointless...

It's a pointless rule and now I have to wait 2 more years to sit in the front TT^TT

 

That sucks, man! Even though I'm 12, my mom doesn't like me to sit in the front if she can avoid it, so I'm stuck with my 3 idiot siblings. Holy ****, dude.

 

Thats all most as bad as our bosster seat law in Indiana:
Any body under 4'8 or 8 years old has to wear a boster seat
Thank god I was 9. but I was like 4'4 and my parents almost got a ticket for not making me wear one
I was very small for my age

 

I hate how the gov'ment waste money on making such idiotic laws.

I understand, it's for safety and such, but holy CRAP...:nerve:

 

You not gonna think it's a stupid law once you get in a car accident and sufficate from the air bag or fly right through the window. That law is there for a reasn and I have no problem with it. Those kinda laws are there to protect you and if you have a problem with it go ahead and keep breaking that law till you die so you can show how right they are.

 

I have to agree. Some laws can get you angry, but most are for your own safety.

We HAD a law to prevent this before! We had to be a certain weight/height so the air bag wouldn't suffoate us.

I fit those requirements, because Im big for my age and always have been, but the thing is, THEY MADE THIS LAW AND NOW I DON'T HAVE FRONT SEAT RIGHTS. I know that before it was for our safety, but there is NO reason to make an age law. Its completly pointless.

P.S. I've been in 3 accidents before the law was passed, so NYAH >D
