Veera blinked once, then twice. Well.....shit. She had not expected that. Clearly, neither had Requiem, as the thing took off, squealing out high notes in panic. "I'll have to tell Ashleigh not to expect you back." She turned towards the third party in this matter, the one firing the gun, and strolled towards him, holding her sword out. Once she was only a few feet in front of him, she raised her sword and pointed it in his direction. "I think that poor fellow is having a hard enough time with the girl, don't you?" She asked, her eyes nearly glowing with repressed violent urges. Her own self was in control now, having been shocked back into existence by the appearance of a demon.

She lowered the sword, planting it in the dirt and resting both hands on its pommel. "You should come back with me. It's not safe out here, and quite frankly I'm going to need all the help I can get, capturing that girl. If not to keep her from murdering my comrade's protector." She sighed. "Will you please help me?"

Kala was no longer Kala. She no longer thought like Kala, or feared like Kala. This new her, she wanted that soul inside that armor. There had to be one, and she wanted it. "Mine." She hissed, chasing after the thing on four legs, occasionally leaping into the air to gain more ground. The harder Requiem tried to run, the more excited She grew, and the quicker she chased.

It didn't take much longer for her to pounce on the back of the armor, tearing and clawing at it while she screeched in rage before sinking her teeth into the helmet, shaking it this way and that as she tried to rip it off, tried to get to an inch of bare skin so she could make it pay. She let go of the helmet just long enough to scream in
Requiem's face, protected by metal. The sound was loud enough to deafen even her, but the darkness inside of her raged that she make it pay. "MINE!" She screamed before tearing at its chest plate, helmet, anything within her grasp, the claws scratching the metal and digging into any hand hold she could find as she assaulted the musical soldier.

After boarding the ship, Reitan didn't do a whole lot. Part of him still wanted to fight against that demi god, it had been whole since he'd been up against an opponent like that. Not strictly referring to a demi god, but more so someone to cause him to have to think about his next actions and how to proceed during a fight. Fortunately they were on the opposite sides of this war and thus the odds of the facing again were quite good, he needed to wait til then. With his lance placed on his back, Reitan started to walk around the ship toward the nearest room. In that room he found some girl he didn't know. Said girl was also tied up so that was also something to take note of. "So, who are you?" Reitan questioned.

    David's pov:

After tossing Ien inside the shuttle it seemed like it was time to go. Shortly after that Reitan entered the shuttle. The shuttle took off and made its way to HQ. The shuttle was kept low to the ground so they could get away. It was somewhat odd they did not get shot at. Soon the shuttle took up speed. This was to say that they would be at HQ soon. It has been to long sense he was there. Was there any changes to HQ while he was on that mission? He would find out soon. "So what are we going to do once we get to HQ?," he asked Carissa. He hoped that she might be getting rid of the far more useless people, but he did not think that would be happening. There would be to many gone if that happened. The ride to HQ was a long one and he thought it might be faster with the ship going a faster speed now, but what you going to do. He thought back to the tower and hoped that it would fall over onto Jayce, then again he did not think that he would be that lucky.

    Sophia's pov:

She stood there when the mic sparked to life. 'Jayce, what are you doing? We could end this war at this very moment! Are you seriously doing this just because of the captive?' It was about time that she was able to hear something. The length of time for this was unheard of. These mics were a piece of junk. Then Jayce's voice came through. 'Stand down.' She has never been so happy to hear a voice. It must have been hours she spent trying to get though. "Jayce, what is going on? I have been trying to get though for hours. These headset are not the best technology do you think that you could come up with something better." Now all that was left was to wait for a response. The tower was sure to be in bad shape after all of the fighting.

Ms. Spooks' PoV: Ms. Spooks immediately stopped playing at Ashleigh's comments. Without breaking her composure, Ms. Spooks smiled at her. "It's not forced tranquility. You have every option to not be peaceful. My music simply helps." Ms. Spooks looked up at the large ship, and then in the direction of the tower where the Shards once resided. She took in a deep breath, and looked back at Asheigh, who was heading into the ship. "Ms. Reaver, please excuse my rudeness. I just...would very much like to help stop this war, without violence. Is that too much to ask? I'm not sure I know enough to validly say much about this war, and as to who is right or wrong. That is why I would like to talk to you, and ask you more about just why you must war with the Shards. I want to know your reasons for hostility towards them. I'd like to understand. Please? If it pleases you, I shall keep the harmonica away." Ms. Spooks slipped her harmonica back into her pouch and began walking after Ashleigh.

The Andaran Prince had pressed off several shots in Requiems direction when his original target appeared in front of him, he noted the bloody shoulder, hence why the blade had fallen away. She pointed her sword at him and he flipped the switch selecting full automatic fire and kept the muzzle pointed at Veera and his finger lingered near the trigger as she explained to him why she needed his help saying that the poor fellow already had enough to deal with with the demon going after him. As she lowered the sword so did he lower his rifle, atleast that took some of the explosive air in this discussion. "I will not assist you in the capture of that girl. However I am willing to help you in getting that comrade of yours out of harms way. I do need a little time to prepare the Ritual I can't guarantee it works but it's worth a shot, if it works the girl will calm down, you can take your comrade and get him out of there. Do we have a deal?" Varraki proposed to his opponent after the agreement had been struck he went with Veera and when closer to Kala started to prepare and perform the Ritual of Calming.

Vincent had continued to wander the halls of the airship when suddenly things began to vibrate. It seemed that they were taking off, and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Turning around a corner, he saw a bunch of security guards surrounding some poor chap who was evidently a thief. Great, he had just walked right into another stand-off. "Uh, hi!" he called to the guards. "I'm looking for a visitor check-in desk, could you point me in the right direction?" At that moment, the thief activated a rather odd device. Vincent waited to see what it would do.

Since Xan is overloaded with work, he's asked me to do this post for him.

The soldiers grimaced as the button was pressed. Time seemed to freeze for each of them as they waited for something to happen. They waited, they waited, and they waited. But nothing happened. The two guards looked at each other and nodded.
"Get 'em!" The two of them ran up to Ransak and attempted to tackle him down on to the ground, taking him from two different sides. In the meantime, the commotion had attracted another pair of guards who spotted another person who seemed a little confused. Something about a help desk?
"A help desk? Sir, where do you think this is, a-" One of them began, then he stopped.
"Wait, who are you? What are you doing here anyway?"
"Yeah, I don't recognise you." Both of them raised their weapons and pointed them at Vincent. "Hands on your head! Identify yourself!"

Jayce heard a voice come on the earpiece. He recognised it as Sophia's. What had she been doing if she hadn't managed to get ahold of him? She probably didn't even have it turned on. Pretty much everyone else had called him.

"We've won the battle, that's what's happening. We'll be returning to the Valiant shortly." Jayce replied curtly. He took a last look around the control room once more and headed out on to the battlements where he saw several of the Shards' soldiers shooting from. They were all lying down dead now. He felt a bitter sense of satisfaction from seeing it, though it wasn't going to bring back the soldiers he lost. Or Rose. He gritted his teeth when he remembered that he had allowed her to be captured. As he looked out, he could see the next wave of reinforcements arriving in the distance from behind where he knew The Valiant to be landed. He stood there and watched as the ranks of the Order entered the area and began to secure the tower. Once he was satisfied that all was under control, he returned to The Valiant to see what the situation was like back at the ship, and get a damn good rest.

"Sounds like some things go down through the family." Carissa muttered, shaking her head. "I don't know her. All I've got is your opinion, which is of course highly trustworthy. No matter, I'll get to know her soon enough." As she was flying, she heard someone else come over to talk. It sounded like David wanted to know what they were going to do. She didn't relish the thought of it in truth. She had to report their loss to Jaden, and she hated the thought of having to disappoint him. Especially since Sky Tower was quite important...
"We'll report to Jaden, then we'll have a short rest before our next deployment." She answered. She could see the Shards' temporary HQ a short distance away. It was a large encampment with fortified walls around it and several towers with soldiers patrolling inside. Aside from those, it was armed to the death with defensive guns and emplacements all around the perimeter. It was designed to be damn difficult to sneak into, and even harder to escape from. The console bleeped as it was hailed by the air defence system. She answered back with her own personal hail and the defence cannons that had targeted her now faced away. The camp was going to be a permanent base for the territory, but for now it was the acting HQ. "Okay everyone, we're coming in for a landing!"

The shuttle touched down on a large circular platform made out of metal. She could see as she brought the ship in low that there was a group of people heading towards the landing pad. It was a large group too. Led by an all too familiar face. She turned off the engine and walked out of the shuttle. The ramp clanged down on to the deck and she shot an order out as she left.
"One of you, pick up the prisoner! The Inheritor is here to meet us personally!"

They had received word of their arrival as soon as they entered the airspace. Usually he didn't bother meeting the teams upon their return but this was a special case. Carissa's team was deployed as an elite squad, and her return meant that there was something to report. However, he had a feeling that this wasn't going to be a good report. IF his predictions had been correct then The Valiant would be flying through that sector and Jayce likely would have ordered an attack. The Inheritor was not entirely confident that they would have won the battle either. Either way, they'd find out soon enough. He summoned the Alpha Company soldiers he kept as a security detail to him and strode towards the landing pad that his cousin would arrive at. By the time the shuttle had landed, he was standing there, flanked by the troops. The ramp touched down and he could see inside. One person bound, that was the first thing that struck him. They had a prisoner. Looking at the people inside, it seemed that the entire team that was dispatched had survived.
"Welcome back Carissa, Zahariel, Reitan, Aster, David, Onamakritos." He said formally. He looked each of them in the eye as he addressed them, holding his hands behind his back. "What tidings do you bring? I assume there was a battle."
"Yes, Inheritor." She nodded respectfully at him. "It was lost, but we captured the Black Rose, Jayce's assassin." He nodded.
"Soldiers, take her to the brig. We'll be having a chat with his personal bloodhound soon." Jaden gestured with a hand and two of the security detail seized Rose from whoever had picked her up. She was taken away to her cell. After that, his gaze returned to the rest of them. "I'm glad to see that you've all made it out alive. While Sky Tower was useful, you are infinitely more valuable than one emplacement. Besides, losing it was not unexpected. The necessary plans have already been laid out to mount a counterattack. For now, the camp is as it is always, yours to make use of. Make sure that you all get some rest and Carissa, resupply your bolts while you have time. If you have any questions, report the captain at my door and it'll get through to me. I'll summon you all together when you're next needed." With that, Jaden turned on his heel and returned to his office with his guards following him. He had to finalise the plans for their next move.

"If you mean the good looks, then yes, yes it does." Aster responded to Carissa's comment about something running in the family. He remained pretty much silent until they landed and disembarked to face the Inheritor. When it was all said and done there was not much for him to say at this point. "Well I am off to go take a bath and work on this amazing complexion. Call me when you are ready to torment my sister dearest. That should be fun to see." Aster said as he waved behind him and began to walk away.

Rose simply glared up at the man who entered the room asking who she was. If he didn't know who she was, then he didn't deserve to know. Obviously news of her being here hadn't spread around well yet, that worked to her advantage. However for now she still didn't have full mobility so there wasn't much that she could do yet.

It wasn't long before she heard talk about them landing, so they must be at base. Rose took a mental note to take a good look around with that as the case. Rose removed her eyes from the
man who stood before her, the one that asked who she was and started gazing around as she was picked up at Carissa's command. Struggling now would be foolish, too many people around, even with her superior skills it wouldn't be a good idea. The less she struggled, the less attention would be brought to her, and the better look around she could have. With a good look around she would be able to start plotting a way out. Rose memorized ever turn that they took with the guards towards her cell. Part of her thought that as soon as they reached a dark enough corridor she should simply take out the guards and run. The only issue however was the fact the paralysis was not completely warn off, she was not at full strength. Perhaps in a while she would escape. For now, just to plot and let her body burn off the rest of the damn paralysis.

Ran was suddenly tackled by the guards, damnit, it seemed the blue button did nothing. Fumbling with the crystal as he fell, he attempted to press the red button desperately. Ran closed his eyes as his thumb pressed the red button. Here goes nothing...

Requiem was doomed, he was sure. The creature's screams drowned out his own high pitched notes of fear, what was this creature?

"Anthem, assist Requiem" Ashleigh murmured into her earpiece. She then turned back to Ms Spooks. "Let me tell you the nature of this war, Ms Spooks. It is a war of spite. A war between the descendants of two men who had a little disagreement. It is also a war of vengeance, each side wishing for revenge against the other. It is a pointless war and given a choice, I would not contribute. I have very little power to stop this war, so I join in. I am not in this war out of spite or vengeance. I am in this war for the express purposes of ending it, but if we sue for peace against the shards they will not accept it. Therefore, the best way to end this war is to win" Ashleigh stated "However, there may be another way. I will introduce you to Jayce. Discuss this war with him, once he denies your pleas for peace, come back to me"

As soon as Anthem heard the order, he nodded in compliance, and left the room at a sprint. Running down the stairs within the tower he eventually reached a low level window and leaped out of it, hitting the ground running. In the distance, the conflict could be seen raging as a strange creature assaulted his brother in arms.

Timothy was not sure what to do. His programming demanded that he protect his mistress, but what of the man she was attacking? What could he do? Wait a second, who was that in the distance? Another one? This was getting dangerous, Ms Kala could not stay "Ms Kala, I demand you calm down and we leave immediately"

Veera nodded in acqueisance before charging in. She put her shoulder into the attack, and charged, knocking Kala off of Requiem. "Run!" She hissed at her comrade before turning and leaping onto Kala, trying to hold her down.

The creature once known as Kala screamed, high pitched enough to shatter glass as she flapped her shrunken wings, trying to regain her balance before being tackled again. Her attacker pressed something cold and sharp to the back of her neck, and the creature shrieked again, before a small, human thought took root in her brain. Sand. It whispered, and the creature's claws curled around the grains of sand before tossing it over her shoulder.

Veera, by some stroke of ill fortune, was momentarily blinded by the sand, and took one hand off her blade to dash the irritant from her eyes. In that moment, she was bucked off, and tossed into the sand. The creature was on her in an instant, and landed a blow on her face, claws gashing the skin on her cheek. Veera snarled in response and blocked a second hit with her blade. The creature's claws skittered off the iron, and she turned to yell at the Andarian Prince, "Any day now!" as the claws missed only inches from her eyes.

Onamakritos nodded to The Inheritor, Jaden pathetically, and his legs shook with tiredness. He then turned to Carissa. "Captain, would it be possible for us both to interrogate the prisoner?" The Prince asked. He hadn't done good enough on the battle field, and was still hungry for blood. He wasn't fulfilled of his hunger. He put the facade of a well-mannered and charming Prince aside as now he had no control over his temper, and he wanted to hurt the captured assassin. "I think a Flame God Slayer's burn may get her to cooperate with us."

Theodosia followed Jayce and then started speaking to him. "Jayce I can check the situation on the ship, why don't you just rest? You need your strength, let me run around for a while." She put her hand on his shoulder and attempted to slow him down.

"Yes, Onamakritos we will. Fire is an excellent persuader." She nodded. She wanted to be there for when they did it. And she knew someone else who did too. She was only inclined to grant that request to shut him up. "I know the Inheritor wishes to do so as well. We will need to meet him first so that he can bear witness and potentially ask his own questions. I'm sure he'll have them." She knew that she would have to bear Jaden in mind in these sorts of activities, particularly when it came to such important prisoners.
"Since you're showing initiative in the process, I'll let you make the request to him. In the meantime, I'll wait at the brig." An order, albeit an indirect one. She made her way to the brig. On the way, she put her hand on the shoulder of a Shard soldier and ordered him to find and collect Aster Surananayan for the interrogation. Perhaps that would incline him to be quiet. She had to stop kidding herself like that. It wouldn't work. However, what it may do was make him more inclined to listen to her, make him malleable. She could use someone like that.

Onamakritos couldn't help but grin. "Thank you Captain." He went up to the guard and requests to speak with The Inheritor about interrogating the prisoner. The guard let him through. His voice was cold and almost sly as he spoke. "Inheritor, I would like to speak to you about interrogation methods for the prisoner we have captured. I'd like to be an active part of the process using my Flame God Slayer magic as a method to get out information."

Jaden was not seated when Onamakritos entered the room. His desk, a wide item of dark wood and stacked high with papers and strewn with maps. His room was much the same. There were boards on the wall showing terrain maps pinned to the wall, spider diagrams and complex charts with a myriad of lines drawn across them and pieces of string linking one to another. While seemingly chaotic, to him it was a well ordered record of plans and notes. On the far left side, there was a heavily reinforced door with no obvious method of entry. On the far right hand side, where he stood, there was a window overlooking the main camp. The Inheritor stood, his eyes cast downwards at a report on what they had dubbed 'AVENGER'. Jaden looked up at Onamakritos' voice and smiled, clearly somehow amused.
"Eager I see. It makes a certain degree of sense to do it now. Unfamiliar environment, perhaps we can catch her at a weak moment. And it means that she'll have little use to us here." He already had some ideas in mind for what to do with the girl. She was going to be most useful in his plans. "You may use your magic in the process. Don't go overboard though, son of Calxiyn. We do need her able to talk." Jaden strode across the room to his desk and placed the report down before looking back at him.
"Tell me, why have you come here? Was it your own initiative, or did your mother send you?" It was a question casually delivered. "Before you say it, it's not hard to piece together. Compare the family trees, the mysterious first Calxiyn and what we know about Aidan himself... It's easy to put together. Especially now that I see you in person. I can see the look in the eyes. Carissa wouldn't notice it, she's a killer at heart. But I see it." He leaned against the desk.
"Perhaps you're searching for a link to the past? We have history, our families. But I find it amusing that one of you stands with a Samarost against the Demi-Gods when before we were on opposite sides." He gave another smile. "Do you believe in our cause? Do the rest of your family?" Jaden leaned against his desk with his arms folded and his eyes locked on to the man opposite's.

Onamakritos glared at him, making his hatred known for such a name. "Does why I come truly matter to you? You are out manned no matter who I am the ******* Prince of or if I'm common like any farmer you'll find in their fields, looking at the on going battle. My sister, has a Vision of Carissa, it was against my sister's will that I come here." He confronted Jaden, not backing down and he almost looked bigger in this way. You could here the callous and the coldness of his voice. "I've read Calxiyn The Wise's version of events, there was no side picked it was a peace keeping effort. History gets so romanticized and dramatized you'll never know what really happened. But if I were her, I would have also picked the Demi-Gods, after Aidan left her with a child, alone." He barked, seeming to have hit a nerve. He changed his tone again.

"My sister doesn't know about anything outside of our world, and my father is oblivious to the fact I'm here." He glared angrily again. "But I am not my mother, my sister, or Calxiyn The Wise. You're fighting a petty battle, but I came here for a battle, for my own blood lust, nothing more then that."

The former foe merely nodded and agreed to the plan then went ahead to tackle Kala away from the soldier. He hadn't wasted a second and prepared the Ritual of Calming working as quickly as he could trying to concentrate with the practiced skill he had. It didn't exactly help that Kala started screaming, but Varraki started the chant of the Ritual and the more he progressed the more haze there was between him and the world around him so he didn't hear Veera shouting through the trance he ended up. His voice had changed into a soothing droning tone that would be invading Kala's mind in an attempt to calm her down. He continued along with the Ritual reciting the memorised words of the chant. The Prince's awareness was muddled his eyes looking at the dancing flames in the middle with nothing else around but foggy darkness as he performed the ritual.

Zahariel sat quietly in the shuttle as it flew into the Shard base. The Inheritor had personally come to receive them, it reminded him a little bit of the Ancient days, but only a little bit since the splendour of these days was far grander than that was shown here. All soldiers looked a lot less impressive than the gathered might of the Custodian Legions and less colourful at that. Onamakritos was saying he wanted to help with the interrogation and that his flames would be of use in said interrogation. "You'd do well not to let the flames consume you." Zahariel said crypticly, hinting at the man's temper and that he should be careful if he were to do an interrogation.

    Zahariel brushed past
Jaden without a word or a glance and moved to his own quarters, while it was larger than the other quarters out there, courtesy of the Inheritor for his services. It was a rather solemn place. It was perfectly clean and ordered like a monk's room. The Ancient God just locked the door behind him and threw back his hood. He detached the scaled chestplate and cloak and inspected the damage done to them. He undressed further until all that was left were the bottoms of his underrobes. He put his sword on an ornate standard decorated and took a few tools from a drawer, he proceeded with removing the actual bullets from his flesh and then cleaned and bandaged up the wounds, they would heal quickly enough. He washed himself with water from a large urn, as he had requested personally. Then he took out the repair kits for his robes several rolls of priceless yarn contained in them and repaired the several layers of robes that he wore and when they were repaired he washed the bloodstains out and put them back on. He then picked up his last piece of gear, the scaled armour and used a small raised coal furnace in the corner of his quarters to repair the damage to the metal armour. He wasn't an Artificer, but all the Custodiands all knew how to maintain their equipment. He had received ancient tomes with secrets of the Ancient gods on things normally not meant for Custodians because he had been left behind.

After all the equipment had been repaired he fastened the sword back to the chain belt around his robes, put the hood of his robes back on, concealing his face and more of his pale skin and walked out. That
Onamakritos was unsuitable for the interrogation, had no sense of when to stop or how restraint worked. He could be meditating but he was gonna bring this to the Inheritor's attention even if the man knew it himself. Plus there were other things he wanted to discuss with the man anyways a few inquiries he needed to make and out of everyone the Inheritor was one of very few people he didn't mind dealing with.

Aster had a shower and was found in his room when he was sitting there with a face mask over his face. "Don't know know it is rude to walk in on a man while he is working on his complexion. Though I suppose if Car commands it and it is time for the interrogation then I should come." Aster said as he began to wipe off the mask from his face. He did not rush as he got up to head to meet Carissa.

"Hey, Car! Is it time?" He asked as he walked up behind Carissa taking a moment to appreciate her fine behind. He smiled slightly at her as he leaned against the closest wall and watched Carissa for what she was going to do next, what she would say. He was supposed to be in service to her for this day, but perhaps she would take it easy on him. It would be a small kindness that he wasn't planning to extend it to her if he had managed to win.

"Mind your temper. Remember who you speak to. How you address your colleagues is your business but to me, you will curb your anger and speak to me respectfully. Is that clear?" Jaden spoke icily with a sharp look that would cower before nothing. "I know what I wanted to know, but I will remember what you have said. If blood is what you want then blood you shall have, but nothing more." The Inheritor turned around and sat behind his desk. He did not gesture for Onamakritos to take a seat. That would be a sign of respect and an acknowledgement of maturity, none of which his outburst seemed to display being worthy of.
"If you think to provoke me with your opinion, you'll find yourself wanting. The judgement of someone blinded by bloodlust mean nothing to me. I have no guilt for the actions of my ancestors. I know my grandfather had his reasons and it makes little difference regardless." He continued. "History is history, and what you say will make very little difference to me. However, there is another thing you can, and will explain to me. And that is what you mean by this vision of my cousin. What do you see of her?"

"You will not refer to me as 'Car' Aster. Remember your place today." She said harshly as he approached. She gestured towards the ground. "On your knees Aster, where you belong. I will find more suitable attire for one in your place soon, but for the moment you will stay there on the floor." She had given this a little thought and felt it the most appropriate thing for her to do to him for now. Perhaps some humiliation in front of people would serve to teach him a little humility.
"To answer your question it will be starting soon. Onamakritos is reporting to the Inheritor who will be joining us. Won't that be an honour for you?" She said the last part mockingly.

Onamakritos didn't grumble to himself, though he gave a brief nod to show he did understand. It was unknown to him why he was feeling this way, anger for little reason. "Let me think." He then wrote down the events of the battle in his notebook quickly, as he knew his sister could be reading it. He started a new paragraph:

"Confronted by thou of similar blood, the hero stood before Jaden, The Inquisitor. He felt his blood pumping through his veins, and so he evermore wondered if the connection was still that strong. That was science his sister knew, and regardless it was meaningless to him. Or was it?"

He then spoke. "My sister's power is unknown to me, but she told me that she saw war and violence, and before her eyes she saw Carissa and I fighting along side each other. First, Carissa flickered into Aidan, but reverted back to herself, and then I did the same. Merely symbolic, I imagine." He hesitated. His sister had told him more, but he didn't want to give that away without being sure, and he knew that his sister wanted nothing to do with the outside world. If she would change her mind, it would be interesting to see what would happen, but again he persisted to himself he didn't care, and he only wanted to kill, not to get wrapped up in sentiments or family.
