Kala wasn't quite sure where she was running, or really what she was running to. That's all she knew how to do. Run run run run run. Keep running. Her head down, cloak streaming in the wind, she didn't plan on stopping.

    Woah.
    Is that...
    The Xanahammah???
This was a pretty good find. Unfortunately Ransak suspected the weapon would be rather well protected, he was sure there was some kind of alarm on the case. But this was The Xanahammah. Broken, yes, but still a legendary weapon! If Ransak could get his hands on that, just imagine how much money he could make! The Shards would probably pay him a fortune for possession of the legendary weapon of Xanatos Reaver! He had to make a decision quick, before that group outside got onto the ship. Could he somehow use the hammer's inherent electrical properties to short out the alarms? No, probably not. That was a stupid idea. Ransak rubbed his hands together deviously and carefully gripped the lid. Carefully... carefully... GRAB THE HAMMER AND RUN. Ran sincerely hoped he hadn't set off some kind of alarm, as he bolted for the door...

Timothy followed his mistress, as he was wont to do "Apologies of my outburst, Ms Kala" he stated casually, easily catching up with her, as he activated his "At your side" subroutine. "After accessing my database I would reccomend that we join one side of this conflict. Perhaps there is space for us within the Shards of Hope?"

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
"Yes, Ms Spooks was it? I do believe you are 100% correct" Ashleigh stated "The best solution would be resolve this without fighting. The art of warfare is to break their will instead! Break them down! Make their soldiers flee! Destroy them from the inside and take them over without dispute! No casualties, yet irrefutable victory!" as she said this she began to realise this was perhaps not what the woman had meant "Unless, perhaps, you had a different idea?"

Anthem had tried his best but in the end been unable to corner the Huntress. He was knocked down and injured from the onslaught. They had taken Sky Tower, but lost one of their greatest assets, and killed none of the main members of the Shards. All in all this was quite a Pyrric victory. Mistress would not be pleased.

Kala slowed down, her head whirling a little bit. Taking that man's energy.....she wanted to drop to the ground and cry, kicking and screaming to whoever lived in the skies that she hadn't meant to, she hadn't tried to hurt anyone. It was so unfair, that for her to live others had to suffer. "The Shards of Hope?" She responded to Timothy, her voice breathless from the exercise. "If you think that's what would be good...." She hugged herself, shivering as the unknown man's life force was converted into her own. The process itself took time, days, but it was uncomfortable.

"Then let's go. Maybe they can show me how to stop hurting people." She agreed.

Veera's eyes narrowed, and she lowered her gaze. See, she's not a true Alpha. She doesn't know how to lead. She should only follow. Maybe follow us. No, Ashleigh would never submit to that. Nor did Veera want her to. Then let's go, on our own. We won't be missed. She's busy with the newcomers, and that girl, she's dangerous. She might try to come back later. She might have been testing to see how strong we are. And we failed. Veera clenched her hands, then stalked in the direction the girl had run. Before long she started running, the wolf instinct overtaking her better judgement. The girl had a headstart, but she didn't have Veera's senses, or stamina. And the hunt was afoot.

Jayce was seriously wondering why Throda and Lucien were not getting their tan on.

With the flames growing closer, the young Demi God took it upon himself to take care of the attacks. Discarding his gun for his scythe, he channeled another burst of energy through his veins and into the weapon, empowering it with a great and mighty magic.

    “Demi God Technique - Reaper!”

The length of the scythe and blade extended, giving him a weapon which covered half the hallway. Grinning, Jayce stepped forward and used his new blades to cut through the torrent of flames approaching them. Once. Twice. Thrice. The Ancient God’s fiery judgement was dispelled, saving the group from a crispy end.

    “To the weapon, quickly!”

His injury was still bothersome, but it wouldn’t be killing him anytime soon. Pushing the pain to one side, Jayce limped up the hallway, using the wall for leverage and his scythe as a stick, moving as fast as his legs would carry him. A few of his men pushed onwards, executing any remaining Shard forces which littered the hallways. Jayce was struggling to keep the pace, at one point nearly tumbling to the floor. Damn it. He had to catch up. Had to stop Carissa. Had to save Rose.

The stupid girl. Why had she leapt into combat like that? He’d given orders to stand back, no? As soon as she was rescued, he’d give her a good, long rant about teamwork or something. That always seemed to work in the movies, right? Holy ****, his chest was burning now. There would be time to debate the use of cliché speeches later. Right now, he had to stop the Shards.

Pushing onwards, he found his men had managed to secure the main AA gun.

“Almost ready to fire sir,” one of them explained, “we’ve got a lock on their aircraft.”

“Preparing to fire. Weapon charge at seventy-five percent and rising…”

The weapon itself was magnificent. A giant, radiant crystal, powering a long length of iron that could blast untold quantities of energy at any given target. One shot from this and there’d be nothing left of Carissa and her forces…

then again, there’d also be nothing left of Rose.

No, he couldn’t allow her to get in the way of all of this. The war was just too important for it. He had to put an end to Carissa now. They were all gathered together. The Huntress. The Ancient God. Her most powerful forces all united in one spot. He could do it. Put an end to this war and it would only cost one more life…

The life of his most loyal servant.

He sighed. The Order was not what it once was. In the days of his father, the Hammers had commanded fantastic armies and the support of almost all realms. Now, they felt like a group of rebels, banded together to fight against the forces of oppression. They were so few. If they started killing each other off now, they would amount to nothing.

No matter how much Jayce wanted to put an end to those disgusting heretics, he couldn't do so by murdering Rose. He couldn't end the war like this.

"Hold your fire," Jayce raised his hand, "let them leave."

"But, sir, there are so many high ranking mem-"

"I said hold your fire damn it! Let them go. We can track them to their headquarters."

A lie of course. But one that would keep the support of his men...

    For now.

    Meanwhile, a few miles away...

The moment the glass case was lifted, an alarm resounded throughout the ship. Red lights blared and a screaming sound filled the poor ears of the souls on The Valiant. The dozens of soldiers left onboard sprung to action, charging down the various corridors and hallways, searching for the intruder who would dare to touch the priceless museum exhibit. A pair of them spotted Ransak emerging from the trophy room, and immediately gave chase.

"Jayce!" Ashleigh called into the headset as she saw him hold his fire "What are you doing? We could end this war at this very moment! Are you seriously doing this just because of the captive?" she was getting emotional, she had to get better control over her emotions, she had to be rational- "Oh for fuck's sake Veera! I didn't give you leave! You're going to get yourself killed!" but her "loyal" warrior was already gone "Reqiuem, go help Veera" suddenly the alarms went off in the airship, and the man with the gun was missing "Jayce you are a fucking idiot, do you know how many more people will die in this war because you haven't got the balls to shoot down that ship? Carissa is in there! Your sister's murderer! We can't track the ship and you know it! Not to mention we've got a situation down here..." For a moment Ashleigh pressed her hands to her temples calm down, we can solve this. She switched channels and whispered a secret message to Anthem "Anthem. Take control of the gun. Kill the shards"

Reqiuem obeyed and began to follow Veera, who was in turn hunting the others. He was slow in his armour, but hopefully he could catch up

Anthem heard his mistress's words and was filled with a sense of purpose. Though he was injured he felt the rhythms in his heart, her rhythms. He owed Jayce Reaver no loyalty so ignored his commands, heading straight for the gun. An incredulous Order soldier looked at him in surprise as he pushed the man out of the way, and after much struggling, gained control of the weapon. Soldiers were shocked at this display of mutiny, but he was never with them in the first place. Anthem's only loyalty lay with Ashleigh. He cared not about Rose's life, he cared little for his own life, if he were executed for this crime he wouldn't mind, all in the service of his mistress. Anthem grabbed the gun and began to aim, his finger hovering over the button to fire...

Damnit. Alarms. Welp, time to run. Ran had been in worse situations, he once had to run from a boulder through an ancient temple. "Stay back! I've got a Xanahammah!" he shrieked to the guards, waving the broken weapon about, as if he knew how to use it. But he knew that wouldn't help really. Once again, he'd gotten too cocky. There seemed to just be one solution. When he found himself surrounded, Ran pulled out the crystal with the buttons "Do you know what this is? Do you? Well either way, if you don't let me leave I'll press the button! I'll do it, you hear me?" He sincerely hoped the crystal was like some kind of "kill all guards" switch, or a powerful weapon, or a teleporter, anything to get him out of this mess.

As soon as everyone was aboard, the Huntress wasted no time in getting moving. However, as always, there was a large armoured distraction in the form of Aster of the Obnoxious Surname.
"Thirty six. And I got your sister." She smirked at him. "Take the time during the retreat to come to terms with your defeat because there's no way that you topped that. And don't lay a hand on her. She's mine to do as I wish with. Consider that your first order." She ran into the cockpit of the shuttle and her hands flicked over the controls. Spinning the control device up, the craft ascended. Now, to pick a route. She would have liked to use the tower for cover, but even as she started to angle the ship she saw the gun sweeping around towards them.
"****, they're on the gun. We're taking the rough way out of here! Strap in tight!" Carissa shouted to the people in the hold behind her. Without further ado, she pushed the ship forwards at maximum speed towards the forest. She had no doubt that the gun would be firing soon, so she had to do her best to make it difficult. Luckily, what she had over the Order was the knowledge of the rate of fire and the rough spread of fire of the weapon. She could dodge it in the open air, but heading through the nearby forested area would only make it safer, if a little more uncomfortable. She kept the craft low, relying on instinct along with brief flashes of terrain to make stomach-churning turns, knocking over the occasional tree in their flight. Eventually, she would stop dodging and focus on pure speed. Once they were out of range, it would be all over...

Kalak watched the shuttle fly away with mixed feelings. There was disappointment - He knew that his mother's killer had once again escaped death. However, he knew that this would not be their only chance for revenge. The Huntress could only run for so long before they caught up to them. The gun was turning towards the Shards' escape craft, but he knew that it would be far, far too late for that now. He had no doubt that Carissa had a plan for escape, most likely one set up by her infernal cousin. What surprised Kalak was that the tower had not yet self-destructed. It would be an obvious way to deny them the territory here, so why would Jaden simply allow them to take it? Not that the others would have thought of that. For now, Kalak enjoyed the victory. For once, they had achieved exactly what they had set out to do and as far as he was aware, without any significant losses...

The number shocked Aster, and of course Carissa was right, there was no way he could beat that, not even by lying. He could lie to match the kill count maybe but in the end the capture of his sister made it impossible to try to say he did better. Though even with the loss, it wasn't all bad. He did still get to hang around Carissa all the time and check out her magnificent *ss. Though the first order he received from Carissa was not one he was a fan of following. He couldn't touch his sister? He could even torment her a little? That really sucked.

    Aster followed
Carissa to the cock pit, and despite the evasive maneuvers he kept his calm. He didn't care they were trying to escape, he just wanted to talk a little. "So... I can't touch Rose, but can I at least watch you torment her. I am sure it will be great fun. She always had the best reactions when I tormented her." He said from his seat. Aster then tried his best to fix his hair while Carissa focused on getting them out of there. There was not much he could do, so why not make himself look good for his date with the second best Shard there was.

Ms. Spooks' PoV: "Why, I have a goal right now. And that goal is to settle dispute so that no one will get hurt anymore, and so that neither side-" Ms. Spooks was interrupted as Veera dashed off on her own and Ashleigh seemed suddenly stressed out. "Uh-um... Ms. Reaver? Is everything alright? Please, let the Shards go. I plan to talk to them too some day, so that in the end this argument can be settled. Please? Perhaps this will help, seeing you liked it earlier." Ms. Spooks pulled her harmonica back out and brought it to her mouth. A beautiful, tranquil melody poured from it, filling the air with peace. Taking a breath from her music, "I hope it wouldn't be rude to ask if we could go inside soon? I really would like to sit down and properly talk with you and anyone else whom would like to talk. Perhaps I could bake everyone something sweet as well?"

Veera didn't stop running, even when her intended prey was in sight. The robot..thing, would be the bigger challenge. The girl was small, and somewhat frail looking underneath that large cloak. As long as Veera didn't make contact with her skin, she would be easy. Drawing her sword with nearly silent grace, she darted forward, and pounced.

Kala sensed....something. She turned, and darted out of the way just as the sword hit the sand she had been standing upon. "Timothy!" She cried out, for the first time in her life willingly relying on someone else to help her. The time falling off the tower didn't count, because well, she had been ready to smash her back against the ground. And the time after that, she hadn't expected Timothy to take her away from battle. And the time after that, she hadn't expected him to fight at her side, or follow her after she had nearly killed that man.

....Wow, she was really starting to depend on him, wasn't she? Kala had enough time to dart away from another sword blow, her heart pounding in her ears. She had never been hit by one of those before, but they looked sharp, and it would hurt, she knew it would. This woman didn't mean to take her back alive. Or well, alive and in good shape. And she would prefer to stay in good shape.

The andaran prince had left the scene of the conflict, but once more drawn in like a fish on a line he unknowingly circled back around as if some power lured him in against his will. He ignored that thought, he was still his own person and he set out his own path under the guidance of the spirits. However this proved to be a lie as once more he happened upon the red cloaked girl who was once more in danger as one of the fighters from before was attacking her. Varraki wasted no time and unslung his rifle, selected single round firing mode he knew he was in a more open position than normal and took aim, he couldn't guarantee he'd hit or miss and hit the girl, but he had to try. The ritual of calming would take way too long to perform it might be too late. He opened fire upon Veera, firing single shots as accurately as he could. If he drew her attention away and she would charge him he would switch to automatic and just spray and pray.

Zahariel wasn't going to do anything when Carrisa ordered them to cover the retreat of others. Had they actually been sensible people, unlike Aster who was already starting to argue with Carrisa about some stupid bet. Zahariel sat in the shuttle as it flew away from the gun. He needed to get those bullets out but he would have to wait with that. He wasn't going to reveal himself here. He liked the anonimity his hood gave him. He unsheathed Dies Irae as and took out a piece of cloth cleaning the Demi-god's blood off the blade. He savoured the smell of it. It was but a prelude to the final correction he had to make to this world. The shuttle flew through the skies away from the gun. He wished he could use his own wings to fly, but sadly they were still broken. He hoped he would fly again one day the sort of freedom no one would really understand until they experienced it themselves. Aster was fixing his hair to look good oh the vain idiot, Zahariel did look quite impressive in his attire as well and was more worried about the damage done to it than to the body underneath. He looked at the woman that had been captured, simply because he had ratted her out with his flames. The red eyes peering out from underneath the hood. So this was that vain idiot's sister? Curious course of events having them end up on both sides of the conflict. He wasn't going to say anything about it just watch it all play out. He wanted to get to the base so he could get those bullets out and fix his clothes. Anything else could wait until that had been taken care off.

    Throda Bronzebeard's PoV:

The stout dwarf had again risen his shield, in a well-practiced motion, ready to embrace the firery wrath which was hurtling towards him. Predictably, the gallant commander stepped in and worked some hippity-joopity, blasting away the flames. Throda grunted, "Fancy."

Shouldering his shield, Throda followed behind Jayce. The dwarf's heavy footsteps found the cadence of the commander's limping pace. Reaver's pain manifested itself in laboured breaths. Throda continued, at a respectful distance. Man this guy is out of shape! The earth-lover glanced at his short legs, perhaps he wasn't better off. As they ventured on to the control room, Throda slung around his shield and grasped his hammer's leather-bound hilt, who could say what nasty surprises the Shards had embedded in the tower. Finding none and observing the control room to be under Hammer control, he moved his shield to rest against his armoured back. The mighty dwarf weapon was returned to his belt in a loose state. Very loose.

Throda took a moment to appreciate the tower's weapon, quite impressive. The crystal was suspect, dwarves favored explosives to arcane blasts, but Throda had to admire the smooth combination of mechanics and magic. "Finally found some decent engineers in this land," he said, his eyes drinking in all the metal-ly goodness found in the turrets powerful design. "This kind of machinery could end a war!" A convenient shuttle raced in front of the weapon, filled with the most powerful warriors in the enemies armies. "Well that's coincidental!" Throda exclaimed, a slight grin splitting the sea of facial hair.

Yet despite this obvious gift, Jayce would not fire. "Commander, this is not an opportunity often given in war. We possess a weapon to take down flying things, and look, there's a flying thing that just happens to hold our most dangerous enemy. I, uh, I think we should fire, Reaver." The words washed over Jayce, he had other motives. Throda had a good guess as to what they were, as did Ashleigh it seemed, and she did not find them worthy. Throda was inclined to agree, which put him in a difficult spot, and the Hammers as a whole. Especially Jayce Reaver. Here was a trusted general, a cousin no less, intentionally disobeying the leader of the Hammers, in front of his very face.

Now a choice had to be made, and a rather perplexing one. Throda prided himself on his loyalty and his combat abilities. These two staple parts of Throda's psych were locked in a mental battle. Throda had no doubts that firing the weapon was the correct choice for the war. Surely Jayce knew this, Rose's capture must be his only deterrent. Perhaps the demi-god had another motive, perhaps not. Throda could only assume.

"By Moradin's luscious beard, I hope this is worth it you demi-god báštárđ." Throda muttered, as his short, sinewy legs sprang into action. The armoured juggernaut whistled twice as he hurtled towards Anthem. Lowering his shoulder, the dwarf smashed into the metal musical monstrosity, employing all the delicate techniques for tackling giant metal things he had learned at the Academy.

Kala backed up, dodging another blow before tripping and stumbling back. She crawled backwards, her breath coming fast and hard out of her chest as she began to panic. She would have to use her powers, or she would have to be hurt. She didn't want to make this choice, she didn't want to hurt anyone else, she didn't want their thoughts and feelings and hopes in her head. She shrieked as Veera's blade came down towards her.

Veera had her. This was it. The wolf inside was howling for blood, and her eyes narrowed with primal joy as the blade sliced down. The sword dropped into the ground, and she stumbled back. Confused, Veera looked at her shoulder, which was slumping at an odd angle. Blood dripped from the bullet that had embedded itself in her skin. She didn't yet feel the pain, but she was angry. Someone had taken away her victory from her, someone had interrupted her kill. She turned, scanning the horizon for the perpetrator. And found him. She started towards him, picking up speed as she ran, rage filling her mind with nothing but red, and the need to kill.

"If I choose to do so, I suppose I could allow that." She said, not looking at Aster, but rather at where she was flying. She hit the power to 'sprint' the remaining distance out of the area of the tower and into safety. The g-force pushed her back into the seat, such was the speed of the craft when she put it's full force to work. Soon enough, it was over and the sounds of the machine dwindled to a quieter, lower pitched whine as she released the acceleration and instead, cruised towards their current HQ. It was lucky they didn't have any air forces to speak of, and that she had taken the path through the forest. From there, it'd be hard to track them. Finally, she glanced at the man sharing the cockpit with her, much to her annoyance. "What's your problem with her exactly? Most siblings don't want to see the other suffer beyond harmless pranks." She was quickly coming to the conclusion that Aster had serious problems with women. He couldn't handle them, or wished that he could have more from them? Perhaps he was spurned hard once? It seemed irrational.

That being said, since when was Aster known for being rational?

Kalak entered the tower, deducing the location of the others by the trail of destruction. Scorched walls, holes tore into the ceiling and the walls. He whistled. It must have been chaos itself in here, whatever happened. He followed the tower up, supposing that they would be in the control room of the tower. It seemed to be the best place to stop. When he arrived there, he gave the room an examination. Someone was conspicuous by her absence in the corners of the shadowy places in the room, or snuggling up to his uncle.
"I see Rose is missing, and the Shards have escaped. I suppose we have a tower now though." He observed dryly. Judging by the conversation, they could have taken a shot. "Throda is right. Now Carissa has escaped mother's vengeance once more. It would have been crippling. No matter. We'll fight them on another front. Perhaps this is the start of us being able to turn the war around. Being outdone by humanity like this is frankly embarrassing."

"Problem with her? Have you met her?" Aster asked in a slightly cocky tone. "Ever since she was a child she has been a bit mad in the head, she loved hurting people, things, interfering with my learning. There isn't much to like about her, even being my sister. Don't get me wrong, I don't want her dead but given how much she has done, a little torment is fine. I mean come on when my parents split neither of them wanted her, mom took her because dad refused to. And now she is a lap dog for the Hammer heads which I don't much approve of. So you tell me, what is there to like?" Aster explained. Hopefully she would figure out the picture. Aster really didn't think it needed explaining.

The the grip that the paralysis had on her began to lessen and Rose was able to move again, well slightly. She was retained thanks to her damn brother, at least, surprisingly enough he had a shred of intelligence. He was the first one to prepare for her awaking, even still he was an idiot. Rose slowly tried to work on her restrains, seeing if she could break free. She didn't want to make it too clear what she was doing, just in case someone thought it would be a grand idea to paralyze her again. Rose did however begin to look around more, even try to get closer to the door, listen in to what was going on around her.

As Kala was suddenly and inexplicably attacked, Timothy readied himself to help. The battle was hard to keep track of, they were both moving so fast. As the attacker was shot, Timothy saw its chance. Lunging forward, Timothy grabbed the attacker, holding them back "You are being incredibly rude" he stated sternly "Ms Kala hardly deserves such treatment" Suddenly Timothy felt a sudden shock in its side and involuntarily let the attacker go as it stumbled back.

Requiem had noticed an area of the machine's armour that left circuits exposed, and struck. He gestured to Veera to retreat, accompanied by some panicked music notes. 2 vs 3 were never good odds, and Requiem wasn't entirely sure how they were supposed to deal with this metal abomination. He just hoped Veera would see sense

Varraki's first shot hit it's intended target and the blade that was going for
the red cloaked girl fell to the ground. However the opponent faced him, he hadn't expected it to be a killing shot either. However what happened then happened rather quickly. Varraki had been alligning his next shot when the great construct took hold of his quarry.
    Then however
yet another foe appeared out of bloody nowhere and struck the construct forcing it to drop the woman that nearly killed the red cloaked girl. He had to make a decision now and he decided to fire more on his original target, alligning shot after shot going for as much acuracy as possible in the circumstances and if Veera would close too much it was time for spray and pray.

Veera felt herself yanked back, halting her attack on the Prince. She turned to find herself held by the giant robot that had originally defended the girl. As he began lecturing her on manners, Requiem came to her rescue, making a gesture to turn back as he busied himself with the other robot. Eyes glowing with the intensity of the battle, Veera began to speak to Requiem. "We must g-" She was cut off by a nearly inhuman scream.

Kala was saved, first by a stranger, then by Timothy. She started to go towards Timothy, when a foreign figure shoved it's hand inside of Timothy's body and yanked on the wires. Timothy stalled, dropping the scary woman to the ground. Kala's vision narrowed to only the robot as she dropped to her knees, a scream ripping from her throat. The thing had hurt Timothy. Her Timothy, the one who stuck by her side through all this scary stuff, the one who decided she was worth saving. The only one who thought she was worth a damn. Her nails dug into the ground as her body quivered, the excess of power she hadn't felt in years building up until it exploded. She arched her back and unearthed a barely human cry, her spine lengthening and shifting, forcing her body to hunch over as her eyes glowed, canines elongating while her finger and toenails grew sharper, stronger, more predatory.

"Mine." she hissed, crouching low to the ground. "Mine. MINE!" She launched herself at
Requiem, claws outstretched towards her target.

"Stand down Ashleigh," Jayce hissed into his mic, "know your god-damn place, you Nighthawk b****."

He regretted the words as soon as they'd left his mouth, but he'd have time for apologising later. For now, he had to figure out the next move. Perhaps there was a way to track the Shards. He just needed to come up with something qu-

    CLANG!

Jayce whirled around, scythe pointing towards the intruding noise. At first, he raised an eyebrow. Throda Bronzebeard, son of Throda Bronzebeard, had just tackled Anthem to the floor. It didn't take him long to piece together the puzzle however, from the expressions on his soldiers' faces to the man who'd been pushed to the floor by Ashleigh's servant. Anthem, whether ordered or through his own free will, had just attempted to fire the weapon. It took quite a bit of restraint not to decapitate the man there and then.

    "Stand down soldier,"
Jayce hissed to Anthem, helping Throda to his feet, "you might serve Ashleigh, but at the end of the day she is under my command. You will obey my authority and you will listen to my orders, whether you like it or not. I'm letting them go, understand!? We've got the tower under our control, and our reinforcements will be arriving at any minute. Now, I suggest you calm down before we take a look at what's really under that little helmet of yours. You got that?"

With his threat delivered, the Demi God noted the varying faces on his troops. Some remained neutral, but others had difficulty hiding their discontent with the situation. He couldn't blame them. They were all sick and tired of the war, and their loyalty could easily wane at any moment. He just needed them to hold together a little while longer...

"Sir, we've received word from the Northern sectors," a voice in his ear spoke "The airships are on approach. Do they have permission to land?"

"Permission granted," Jayce nodded, "pleasure to have them here."

The battle was won, there was no doubting it. The Shards were in retreat. But what had the conflict cost them? Rose was gone, captured by the enemy. They'd lost a great deal of men in the assault, more so than the Shards. As if that wasn't enough, they were now contending with some God Killer magic user and an Ancient God. It was like every time they took a step forward, fate shot them in the knee caps.

Kalak was right. They were being outdone by humanity, and it was pretty damn embarrassing.

"All units, this is Commander Jayce. The battle has been won, and Sky Tower is under our control. Have The Valiant take off and land at our position. We'll set up a garrison here and then we'll make our way back to HQ."

    Meanwhile, on board The Valiant...

The two soldiers flinched slightly. The thief was waving a broken Xanahammah at them. Supposedly Xanatos' first ever weapon. Pretty badass too. Well, back when it had been whole of course. Right now, it couldn't do jack. That wasn't the problem though. The intruder had gotten his hands on a crystal. The very same crystal Jayce had delivered on his first day on board the ship, with strict orders that anyone who touched it would be cleaning toilets for the rest of their military career. And now the man was threatening them with it? Did he actually have any idea what it did?

    Cuz the soldiers sure didn't.

"How about you put it down?" one of them suggested, "We don't fancy losing our jobs over this. Return that, and the broken Xanahammah, and we'll let you go. No questions asked."

The airships engines began to rumble and shake. The Valiant was prepping for take off. In a few moments, they'd be up in the air.

"Come on pal, there's no way out of this one."

Time paused for Ransak. Soldiers surrounded him, the airship was about to take off. All he had to do would be let go of the artifacts, it would be so simple...
    But...
    They were valuable.
Ran closed his eyes as his fingers hovered over the button. He pushed one at random, blue. Now, what the hell would happen.

Timothy watched Kala's transformation with emotionless glowing eyes, and only one thought came to his mind "It's clear you've been eating properly Ms Kala, you're growing well! But I think you should calm down for a moment, you'll disturb the neighbours"

Reqiuem watched the transformation with fear, never before had he seen something like this happen. Letting out a high pitched note he began to run away as fast as he could, he didn't care about Veera right now, this was self-preservation

Nighthawk b*tch? How dare he call her that? And that dwarf had quelled her short rebellion. She hoped Jayce would realise his mistake soon enough, but at the moment she had to calm down. They had to begin planning their next strike against the Shards, they could not get complacent. Scornfully Ashleigh turned to the strange woman
"Stop that dreadful tune, I won't let your musical magic get to my head. Is this the sort of peace you want? One where people are forced into tranquility?" Ashleigh scowled, and began to get on the Valiant.

From his knocked-down position Anthem watched with despair as the craft flew away, there was no chance of catching the Shards now. He did not listen to the false leader's lecture, standing up slowly and glaring at the man. He reluctantly emitted a low note of submission, to keep the man happy. Ashleigh was the true leader of the Order, not this pretender.

The Andaran prince hadn't exactly expected what was going on but it had made more sense now. His target decided to ignore him now and started to run just like the foe that had appeared out of bloody nowhere. The redcloaked girl however had changed and he began to place the pieces together. Could this be one of these mythical creatures from Andaran Lore? One of those his father had told him didn't exist anymore because they had been relentlessly hunted? He couldn't be sure and while a part of him screamed at him to simply get away as far and fast away as possible, but this was a unique opportunity. His father couldn't say he had met something like this nor could his grandfather of that he could be sure. He stood up and moved over firing off single shots at Requiem as he went over, firing from the shoulder taking a moment to take aim and steady as he fired the shots. He remained at a bit of a distance though it never hurt to be careful around the beings of myth.
