"I see" Asleigh responded "I'm sure we'll win victory for the Hammer" Asheligh nodded to her cousin, and walked out of the doors, briskly followed by Requiem, Anthem and Veera. Soon enough they reached a shuttle and entered. "Make yourself comfortable" Ashleigh commanded, reclining on a seat and steepling her fingers "I hope we will be provided with more information"

"Oh if it is a problem Ms Kala I will help you, you will let me touch you, won't you?" Timothy suggested, leaning over her protectively.

Ransak sat upon the chair proffered and put his feet up on the table "Well" Ransak began to look through the sack "I got onto their airship. Stole some stuff. Escaped" he stated, he then pulled out the massive Xanahammah "Weapon of Xanatos Reaver himself. The ancient artifect of the demigods. The Xanahammah!" he beamed as he held up the hammer. Placing it on the table, he returned to the bag "And this. Trans-dimensional crystal. A direct communication to Xanatos Reaver himself" he placed both items on the table "Also. I'm now in trouble with the Hammers. I want to join your organisation. Protection, mainly"

Reitan wasn't sure just why Kala was so adamant against being touch, but he didn't press her for more information. "Alright, I won't touch you." Reitan answered. Not sure if there was anything he could do about other people touching her, least when he wasn't around anyway. So he didn't give much of a response to that. As the captain explained to Kala that she had to follow orders, the lancer wielder sighed. Once again there wasn't a whole lot he could do about this situation. The captain was right in the sense that they had to follow the orders they were given, but there were times that Reitan just wanted to ignore said orders.

The offer of the Inheritor seemed quite interesting, however there was a question to be answered first. "In a way, it is the start of the path that has lead me here. An emmisary with escort was sent to parley about our standing in this war, wishing to sway us to their side. The negotiations turned violent when I refused to take their side. They tried to kill me, in the ensuing firefight all their people got killed. A few of my own got killed and many injured, including innocent civilians. As it happened in my home, it was my responsibility, the Code is clear on what must be done. I did what was asked of me collecting the blood price in accordance to the Code. During this I came across the girl, I saw her climbing the tower, when she fell, I went over to help, but the construct had already taken care of everything. The construct was unsettling and the battle about to start so I found a position to collect the debt owed by the Order. During this I saw the duo again caught in the middle of battle, seeing they were non-combatants I decided to provide them with support so they could get away safely. When the battle was lost, with the debt collected I set out back home and came across them again, leading them here." The Andaran prince explained, sure the Inheritor hadn't asked for the story but it was easy to explain it all as a whole.

"While the offer is good, I am uncertain whether a man in my position can permit himself to join. As a ruler, I represent my people. If I join it symbolises not just my own involvement, but also the involvement of my entire people. While I am honoured that you are considering me worthy of such a position, I do not think I can justify the course of action to my people. After all if found out I sided with you, I doubt the Hammers will leave my people alone. There is no guarantee your people can keep them safe and this is all a big gamble. I might have to perform the ritual of guidance to make my decision..." The Prince said, he was certain that the Inheritor wouldn't understand what the ritual encompassed after all this was knowledge that had left the rest of the world.

Teliana glanced at Kalak as she rested her chin on her hand, her elbow against some dashboard or other. Her fingers tapped the side of her cheek as she waited for the command to leave. "Well maybe she just decided you weren't worth the effort." She replied, returning her gaze to look into the front of the shuttle.

Veera nodded to Jayce before following Ashleigh and the musical soldiers out. No one spoke a word until they boarded a shuttle, where Ashleigh sat down on a couch. Seeing as Veera wasn't much for comfortable sitting, she drifted towards a corner, letting her back press against it before sliding to the ground and leaning her head against the wall.

Old habit, paranoia, who knew? All that concerned Veera was that she had her back to a wall, and she could see whatever came at her. She raised her head, resting her elbows on her knees before opening her mouth. "Why did you request me?" It wasn't an innocent question, not at all. She didn't understand why out of everyone in that room, Ashleigh had picked Veera. Besides her issue with Alpha, which was a closely guarded secret, she didn't have any particular talents, like Teliana.

    Kala stalked up to the
captain, for a moment her face twisting into something unrecognizable. Something dark. "Are you judging me?" She hissed, her hands balling into fists, though this was hidden by Reitan's sweater. "You and him. You don't even understand. You sit there and order me to behave?" She was angry, and this confused her. Why was what he said such a problem? Why did it upset her so? Yet here she was, practically touching his face with her own, radiating fury.

Timothy's voice calmed her, as it broke through. She darted back to him, pressing herself into his chest as she touched her hands to the cool metal. Her mind worked furiously to try to explain what had just happened, but all it ended up with was dark, foggy nothingness. "Yeah, Timothy." She said, her voice quiet. "Let's go get some clothes stuffs. Come on Reitan." Taking the robot's hand in one of her sweater covered ones, and Reitan's with the other, she towed them out of the camp, only stopping to realize she had no idea where she was going.

By some miracle, she managed to walk into the Quartermaster's tent on her eighth try. The last seven had resulted in some embarrassing, and hilarious encounters which she was sure to document in her mind as things you most certainly did not do in public. Although the last, with the two women, had been an interesting position......She had turned to ask
Reitan and Timothy why they did such weird things with their legs when the woman who was fitting her brushed her fingers against Kala's arm.

In short, Kala nearly lost it, refusing to go near the woman until finally, the exasperated clothing person left Kala to her own devices. She undressed and dressed again quickly, fumbling with the strange ties and zippers and things until she was properly...dressed? She shrugged, turning back to
Reitan and Timothy and twirling her arms. "Tada!"

After that, it was time to find
Carissa, which Kala did by the power of making mistakes. This only took four odd encounters before she finally found the...well, Kala referred to her as the Odd One. Because she was. Very odd. "Uh. Hi." She said to the Odd One known as Carissa. "This is Kala. And Timothy, and Reitan." She pointed to each person she named, herself firstly. "So. Yeah. Got clothes."

Onamakritos didn't reply to her comment about unseating Jaden, but did laugh a bit. "When you're surrounded by people who could theoretically live forever, it's frightening. And I can't help but wonder if this is The Remnant's true plan. She wrote that when the strong monster and the other being is destroyed, it can bring back the original person. Their Soul, Heart, and Body are reunited to defy death. People don't bleed. They don't get cuts or bruises. Some people aren't strong enough to make the trip back, but you still don't see them bleed. Their hearts float to the sky." As he spoke his voice got more tense and angry. "You may wish that Aidan could come back like that, or even like The Remnant, but who knows if they're the same. How many deaths do you have to experience to go insane? You may live forever but what kind of price is that?" He leaned up against the wall beside her.

"When you spend your life seeing people refuse to die, you need to see some blood. Or maybe I just enjoy killing people. I guess that's up to you to decide, Carissa."

"It seems that Jayce is getting bold. Allowing his soldiers to initiate violence during a parley is a dangerous move, and one that hasn't paid off." Jaden mused. What does that mean? Is he that confident of the Order's position? Is it possible that they're preparing for a larger offensive? But where would the resources have come from? "In any case, I'm glad that you survived the breach of peace." From the sounds of it, they were all present at the battle of Sky Tower not long ago. A fateful battle it would seem. He wasn't one to believe in destiny, but he did think it odd that such a range of characters would appear there.
"I should thank you for what you did during the battle. Any support we receive is appreciated, even if it was not your express intention. You still distracted and eliminated hostiles that could have strengthened the assault faced by my soldiers." He said graciously. "And you allowed two who would ultimately join us to escape unscathed." Varraki didn't seem to be prepared to join him just yet, despite the offer he put on the table. Unfortunately, there was not much else that he could afford to do other than that, so he couldn't sweeten the deal any more than he already had. That was the problem with putting all of your cards on the table too soon, but it was worth a try. He'd be more conservative in the future. Ultimately, his co-operation wasn't necessary, so it was a safe test for coercion techniques.
"I can't say that I know the ritual that you wish to perform, but please do so by all means. My offer still stands." Even though it seemed that he was going to lose out, he would do so as gracefully as he could. There was no reason to cause strife or bitterness over it, especially given that he may yet change his mind if the tides of war changed.

"That's a bold claim you're making, but I'm inclined to believe you. Very well, we'll buy. You're free to join the Shards of Hope, but if you want to receive payment for the crystal then you'll have to wait until we've certified the validity of your claim in a controlled environment. Despite my optimism, it could be a ruse. However, what do you want for it?" The Captain asked. "And say... What if we offered you a job in the Shards of Hope? You're good enough to have stolen valuable artifacts from them, would you be willing to steal for us?"

The captain was not at all fazed by the woman getting up in his face, trying to intimidate him. In fact, he thought it rather amusing that she thought that she could really get away with doing anything in their own base. She really didn't understand authority, did she? He waved her off, and she left with Timothy and Reitan to do as she was told. From what he heard from the much beleaguered staff, she hadn't been easy to work with, but the job got done eventually.

"What a pain in the ass, I feel sorry for Carissa." He muttered.

"I'm a Demi-God killer, I know plenty about people that don't die like they're meant to, but your sister sounds like a special case. It's a shame you're on our side, she could be fun to get rid of." Carissa replied, considering how one could kill what he called 'The Remnant'. "But I don't think that's why you're that way. I think you just want blood. I think it's just how you justify it to yourself, but that's fine by me. I don't care, so long as you kill when you're meant to." It never occurred to her how cold hearted many of them were. Aster, nor his sister showed any remorse at killing. Onamakritos was all too willing, and so was she. They were all heartless killers. Around then, a trio showed up. And the woman who introduced herself was weird.
"I see, Kala, Timothy. Welcome back Reitan. For those of you who haven't been briefed, we're transferring a captive, Rose to a prison facility." She explained. As she explained, a soldier came and spoke to them.
"Yeah, and we're meant to expect company. I was told to brief you guys when you were all here. We're expecting them to come, probably with a Demi-God. The six of you are here for a reason. When they come to pick Rose up, you're going to help us, the transport guard, see them off."

"Probably. I doubt she cares to be honest. Not that I particularly care either. I'm more interested in what it took to wind her up that badly." Sometimes it was good to have something up one's sleeve if it became necessary to irritate someone. He certainly wasn't worried about her. It was Ashleigh, there was nothing to worry about.

"I merely did what the Code asked of me, any other citizen of Andar would have done the same." The Prince said, it was the truth any follower of the Code would have done the same, there was nothing extrordinairy about this. The Inheritor told him to perform the Ritual. "Once I start there is no going back, please do not disturb me while I perform it." The Prince instructed as he stood up from the chair and knelt on the floor placing his rifle to the left, symbolising war and his set of dice to the right symbolising peace. The items represented the paths he could choose here. He had kept his set of dice with him as he enjoyed the occasional game of it.

The Prince started to whisper in an ancient lost tongue as his eyes rolled backwards in his head, the chanting started to drone within the room and at first it would seem nothing was happening and the Prince was being possesed, however he was merely asking his ancestors for guidance as they guided his hands towards one of the objects. The chanting continued and the Prince didn't actually perceive much of the room as his hands reached out and took hold of the object pulling it closer to him again as the chanting died down the Prince looked at the item within his hands...... it was the rifle....

    "
The ancestors have spoken." The prince said, as if a thousand voices spoke all at once, taking his dice and putting them away again. "I will hide my face and fight from the shadows as is the Andaran way." The prince explained refering to the prefered method of warfare of the Andaran armed forces. His weapons may not have been state of the art, but they were effective in the way they had trained with them. "You have your answer, Inheritor." The prince said, sitting back down on his chair.

It was only after his troops had left the room that Jayce replied to Theodosia.

"Last I checked, flying the ship was the helmsman's job... though I will take your offer about getting some rest. Just monitor the console here and let me know if it picks up a signal on my crystal. If that idiot thief activates it again, we can track him down and break his legs."

With that lovely comment suspended in the air, Jayce departed the bridge. He supposed he was a little mean to Theodosia, but nothing like a bit of brutality to keep his men in line. Still, he'd have to thank her for the brief break he was about to receive. A warm bed in a room that had just been broken into... on second thought, he didn't think it sounded all that appealing. Perhaps a trip to those blasted healers to calm his mind and ease the stinging in his chest. His thoughts briefly rested on the Ancient God, and his trigger finger twitched.

"Commander, might I have a word?"

El Capitane didn't wait for a response, instead joining Jayce in walking down the halls.

    "What is it Captain?"

"Well Commander, I was hoping we could discuss the results of this recent battle."

    "We won. Discussion over."

"Well not the victory... mainly the casualties."

Jayce's wound pained him again, and his fist clenched. He didn't need to be reminded how many good men had died to give them this chance. Quite possibly their last chance at defeating The Shards. Of course it wasn't something he was going to admit out loud. Not when he could see it burned into their wrinkled faces and weary eyes. The momentum they'd gained here had to propel them all the way to the finish line, if the Demi Gods' legacy was to be preserved.

"What about them?" Jayce finally asked.

"I had some of the soldiers document who died. You know, name, age, rank, that sort of thing. As is normal."

"I'm well aware of how we document our dead Captain. What's the point of bringing it up?"

"I'll just cut straight to it... more than half of our officers were killed."

Jayce's boot squeaked against the chrome floor of the airship. His hand grasped the wall, and he caught sight of his wide-opened expression in the window. El Capitane was regarding him with an expression mixed with exhaustion and pity. Not that Jayce was paying him much heed. His mind was a blur, his thoughts a storm, his sanity a tiny island in the middle of it.

"Captain, how is it possible we lost more than half of our officers?" Jayce finally managed to speak, "I keep them near the back for a reason. Unless they charged Sky Tower themselves, which I very much doubt, how did we lose so many of our commanding forces?"

"We're still going over the bodies, and it looks like most of them were taken out by a sniper rifle."

"So we just happened to miss one of the Shard members that was targeting our officers?"

    A pause.

    "So it would seem, Commander."

A few more moments passed, as Jayce ran the facts through the grinder. Over a hundred men dead, many more wounded, and now he learned that more than half of his officers had been slaughtered in the battle. As if their cause hadn't been looking grim enough a few seconds ago. Decisions were springing up in his head now. Decisions he should have made. He shouldn't have attacked the tower. He should have retreated his troops. He should have kept his room safe from thieves. He should have shot down the Shard's escape craft when he had the chance. He should have done a million different things, and he hadn't.

"Send word to HQ. Tell them that training new officers is a priority. Tell them to send whatever they can here. We can't let this war drag on any longer. As soon as we find out where they're hiding out in the area, we're going to burn everything they have to the ground. These heretics will learn what it means to rise against the Demi Gods. Let it be a lesson to anyone who dares challenge us."

Jayce left the captain where he was, thoughts of rest gone. A quick trip to the healers and a few minutes to clear his head.

There was work to be done.

Rose was soon surrounded by a large group of soldier. "I am flattered that you are putting this much effort in keeping me in your hands. Though it still won't last." Rose stated to the people in her vehicle. No response came of course but that was fine, as long as it got them questioning what she was planning. She wasn't planning much, but paranoia is fun to mess with.

Aster stood silently as Carissa and Onamakritos began to talk. He could care less what mister high and mighty had to say. The conversation mattered little to him. He just wanted to get his sister transported. Aster watched as the rest of their group showed up, followed by further instructions. "Demi-god? Eh not a problem. I am not worried about it." Aster stated as he stood up straight. Hopefully it was time to go and do something. He couldn't stand just standing around her. The good part of this all however was another rather attractive member to join them. He could go try and get with her, however Carissa was around, and she was still far more attractive. Perhaps when he was allowed to leave Carissa's side he might sneak around a little.

"So what do you say we get this show on the road?" He asked as he twirled his lance around a bit for extra effect.

Jaden watched Varraki perform the ritual. It was an interesting one, and Jaden didn't understand the language. Clearly this was something specific only to the Andaran people. There was a lot of untapped potential here. He was curious now. If only the Andaran people themselves would commit to the war, they could actually be useful in the war effort. But it wasn't to be it would seem. He was lucky that the ancestors agreed with this course of action. Now then, how best to make use of him...
"I'm glad to see that you're happy to join the Shards of Hope, Varraki." Spoke Jaden. "Now, there are two operations setting out right now. If you want, you can join either one. One is a prison transport which we're expecting an attack on, and the other one is helping one of our smaller camps defend against an incoming Order of the Hammer attack. You can of course stay off the field, but that's your choice. If you want to stay off the field, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Apparently there's a princess who wants to talk to me as well. I can't seem to get a break."

The Andaran prince was presented with yet another choice this one however he didn't need to use the ritual for. Either help with a prisoner escort or the defense of a small camp. Prisoners were free to break out within the Andaran code as long as they didn't break any other laws while doing so. Therefore the Prince decided to join in with the defence of the small camp he reasoned that this was where he should be, defending against the tyranny of the Hammers. "I will aide in the defence of the outpost, I feel my weapons may make the greatest difference there, though old, they are reliable. And I shall help with the defence of this outpost to the best of my ability." The Andaran Prince said, then the remark was dropped about a princess and the Inheritor being busy "I shall take my leave then, fare well and may the eagle guide your way." The Andaran prince said as he got up and headed for the door.

The moment Kala had grabbed his hand with hers, despite it being covered by his jacket, he was left with little choice but to tag along with her as she guided them to the Quatermaster's tent. The various encounters along the way were not only interesting as they were unexpected, they had left Reitan unsure of what to say in response. Thus he gave Kala a shrug when she had asked her questioned while getting fitting. .

One freak out from Kala and a quick thumbs up from Reitan when she was dressed later and they were now where Clarissa was.
"Thanks." Reitan simply replied before turning his attention towards the transport. Their prisoner didn't seem like the talkative type so he wondered if they actually managed to get any information out of her. Upon hearing the soldier, Reitan looked away from the transport and towards Kala. "Um, how well can you handle yourself in a fight?" A valid question given what they would be up against.

"Excellent, then I shall leave you to it. You'll be working with a man, no I should say an Ancient God named Zahariel. Additionally, there'll be a mage named David Hammerkop with you." Jaden explained. "May the eagle guide your way too Varraki." He wasn't entirely sure of the cultural significance of the eagle, but he'd probably take the time to learn when he could. After all, it may be possible that Andar follows their prince into the Shards of Hope, meaning that Jaden's army would grow even larger. He hoped that would be the case. It would tip the scales of the war firmly and perhaps finally against the Hammers. It was a slowly tipping scale. He wanted it to tip faster. However, perhaps this was the chance to. Jaden picked up the phone in his office and ordered the Captain to bring in the princess. It was time that they talked, and for him to see whether what Onamakritos said was true. It wasn't impossible, but he was a skeptic.

The Captain of Jaden's personal guard stepped out into the waiting room. He saw the princess there, and he couldn't say that she looked like the traditional princess that he would have expected. To start with, she wasn't even wearing a dress. Nevertheless, this was her identity and there was no reason to make an issue of it. He cleared his throat.

"The Inheritor will see you now." He spoke, opening the door to the room. Jaden was seated behind his desk, looking over papers, as usual. I can't tell whether he actually needs to look at those damn things all the time or whether it's just for show. When she had entered, he close the door and he heard it snap shut behind him. The Captain wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this meeting, and so he fingered the button under his desk in anticipation. He could open a secret door in the wall through to Jaden's office if it was necessary. He hoped it wouldn't be, otherwise there'd be a diplomatic scandal.

"So, you're the princess Calxiyn that I've heard so much about. Come in and take a seat." Greeted Jaden. The hair colour was different, but she seemed to match up with descriptions. Not too many inconsistencies... Yet. "What brings you here? Your brother didn't tell me you were coming. I suppose that means he wasn't aware."

"Okay, everyone is here. That means we're ready to go. Feel free to talk en route unless I call to cut the chatter." Carissa stated as they boarded the vehicle that they would be in. It was a troop transport with doors out three sides so they had the freedom to get out as best they could. There was also a pen for a horse so Aster could ride it. Apparently they knew who they were catering for. She took a seat near the front, away from the beast. She hated animals. The transport set off. Their mission had begun.

She seemed to snap out of a daydream when she was let in. She smiled at Jaden as she walked through the door, and she took a seat.
"So my brothers talked about me? That's so cute." Calxiyn's eyes were bright as she spoke, but then for a moment, she felt dizzy and numb. She closed her eyes, and when she opened them it was clear she was not the same person.

Calxiyn had briefly regained control at the talk of her brother, but the time to strike was truly now. The Remnant opened her hosts eyes again as she looked at Jaden. Her demeanor changed, and her smile faded. She looked at him with a stoic, thoughtful expression, her face changing to be more serious. "No, he wasn't aware of my arrival, or plans for coming here." Her voice was a bit deeper now, but still sounded the same. "For 150 years I have seemed to be ignorant of the fact that there was a war between Xanatos and Alpha, even after all this time, now their descendants fight."

"Onamakritos has a book where he Chronicles his adventurers. There's a matching book in the library of the castle that will copy what he's written into it as he writes. I have the power to be able to see the writings of that book without being near of either of them, and the contents perturbed me. That's why I'm here. There are no winners here―only truths, for when equal powers clash, their nature is revealed. Xanatos and Alpha were those equal powers, and this should have ended the day we all parted." She finished her train of thought, watching for Jaden's reaction. She gave equal importance to each word, and had clearly mastered the art of speaking. She wondered what his reaction would be. Either way, she was happy to have a battle of wits with someone worth the mental engagement. How long had it been since she spoke to someone rumored to be of such high caliber.

    David's pov:

    David Banner.png

Apparently David was being looked for, yet he was in his room. He just sat there until his request went though or something happened. By the power of the rp something did happen. At some point he was asked to go on a mission. Really he rather not, but someone smart had to keep the shards together and it looked like that smart person was going to be him. He left his room and headed to where he needed to be. He arrived to see Zahariel and some unknown person. He could tell that it was going to bee one of those days. "Where are we going?" He looked at the other person closely. Was this person just another stupid person let in. He hoped for his sake he was not. If the person just joined they picked a back time for such a thing, but what you going to do. "I take it you will be joining us on where ever we are going." The person seemed to be some sort of gun user, that might be helpful, but he would have to wait and see.

Teliana stopped tapping her nails against her cheek and glanced back over at Kalak, a grin slowly growing on her face. "My, my. Taking quite a bit of interest in what riles up our Conductress, aren't you? I have to wonder..." She glanced over at Sophia, who really wasn't doing much of anything before turning her attention back to Kalak. "I'm sure if you wanted to be the one to rile things up more privately, it would do the both of you good. She needs a release, and you.." She sighed, standing up straight and running her fingers through her hair.

"You just need something to do. Other then this." She crossed her arms over her chest, slanting one hip to the side. "Then I could get some quality time in with those musical soldiers of hers. I have to say, I'm quite curious." She sighed, jealous that Veera got chosen for that particular mission. If only she hadn't volunteered....

Kala wasn't sure what to make of Carissa, nor the others near here, and so she did nothing. She opened her mouth to answer Reitan's question, when the Carissa ordered them on board. "What a bitch." She muttered, low enough only Reitan or Timothy could hear her as she stepped onto the transport and remained close to her robot friend and her sweater giving friend. Wait. Was Reitan a friend?

Well if friends didn't give each other sweaters, then what were they? "I can do...stuff." Kala fumbled with the zipper of her shirt, unable to look at
him. "We'll be fine. Timothy can help me if I screw up." She smiled up at the robot before glancing at the prisoner. Outrage coursed through her and she stood up, ignoring the moving sway of the vehicle as she pointed. "Why does she get away with that, but for me it's not okay? That's unfair!" She complained, before her hand dropped and her mouth went wide with amazement. "Sweater friend, do you see that?" She whispered, creeping up slowly towards the horse.

It was the greatest thing she had ever seen, besides
Timothy of course. "What are you?" she whispered, staring at the horse's face and admiring its big eyes. "You are so pretty." She wanted to touch it, but the teeth that were chomping at whatever horses chomped at looked intimidating. For now, she simply stared at it, enchanted.

Aster didn't bother getting into the troop transport, instead heading straight for the horse. He much preferred riding himself than sitting in a vehicle. "She is beautiful isn't she?" Aster asked Kala as he approached the horse. "A pure breed, one of the finest horses around here. So lovely to ride." He commented as he began to lead the horse from the pen. "Sorry that you don't get to admire it longer, but this is my transport, I need to get on before I get left behind." He stated as he mounted the horse. He smiled as he started forward. He did enjoy riding horses and this one was not panicking which made things a lot easier. That being said he was more out in the open, meaning he was in more danger. Good thing he did not fear danger.

These people were nuts. They were completely nuts. How had they managed to thrive as they had. She didn't understand what the new girl was yelling about but it sounded ridiculous. Not like she could do much about it to shut the girl up. She was bound in chains, perhaps too much so. They must really fear her if that is the case, and that was good. While most saw her as the lap dog for Jayce, as long as they still retained fear towards her, she was sitting in a good position. They all should fear her.

Jaden looked at her. He was surprised at how juvenile she seemed, but he was aware that there was meant to be more to her. He gave her a cursory nod as a response and then suddenly, her body language changed. He smiled, noticing the sudden shift. Now I'm dealing with the real deal. So there may be something to you, reincarnation of the one that my grandfather once knew and loved.
"Although one has since passed from this world, and the other disappeared. It seems that not even the Demi-Gods know where Xanatos Reaver is." Jaden replied, hoping that it would bring her up to speed, perhaps filling out a gap that she was not aware of. What she knew and what she didn't was unclear, especially given that she had, by her own admission, been ignorant for the past 150 years of the affairs of the wider world. There was a certain amusement to be found in that. For a time, Aidan absorbed himself in the government of Sarn. That all changed when Xanatos came. Perhaps it would have been the same - Aidan's life spent in ignorance of the outside world while he rebuilt the country that he both destroyed and created anew. "But yes, the war goes on and shows no sign of ending. That is my objective. To end this war at long last with the realisation of what Aidan strived for, to finish the war upon humanity - and him - That Xanatos and the Demi-Gods started. We are the Shards of Hope, named for the broken remains of that ancient sword. You should know it well, Calxiyn." She had been stabbed with it after all.
"In any case, your attempts at impressing me with oratory skill are meaningless. I'm not interested in your philosophy of this war. Whatever the truth of it may be, men and women will die until one side has won or both sides have destroyed themselves in the attempt. That is the only truth that you need concern yourself with." He dismissed what she said as what it was - Irrelevant and pointless conjecture on the subject. "Now then, let us get to the crux of the matter. What is it you have come here for Calxiyn? Do you have unresolved business with the Samarost family? Are you here for revenge? Have you perhaps come to take our side this time?"

"You will both indeed destroy yourselves. That is what I foresee." The Remnant smiled at his comment about the sword. She had found exactly what she came for. When he asked why she was here, she had a striking glare. "Maybe a bit of both."

She looked into his eyes, those familiar eyes, and her vision seemed to flash to Alpha, and then back to Jaden. She looked down at the floor for a moment, and when she looked back up at him she had a sorrowful gaze. Her emotions seemed to be running high at that moment. "I always was on your side. The winners write history, and I however, was there for the event."

"Xanatos and Alpha were both my friends, but if in that moment you made me choose, I would have chosen to follow Alpha to the ends of the earth in that instant." Her voice changed from stoic to a dramatic despair. She then recomposed herself, and her voice changed to a cold, bitter tone. "I've had 150 years to feel regret, hatred, sadness, grief, sorrow, not just for the choices I made, but the ones that I didn't. But my time for taking revenge is long past, unless you have any ideas?" She seemed to be joking, but even her rough laugh had a sort of sadness to it. Even still, her demeanor and her voice were both strong. She definitely didn't look weak.

"You're rather negative about our chances for someone absent from the wider world for 150 years." He remarked. He was not fond of the naysayers that didn't seem to believe that he was going to win the war. Just because the rest of his family had been ineffectual, he was different, better than them and the Order of the Hammer had the same, failing staff. They were pitiful. All he had to do was look at the strategies they applied before. He could tear them all apart. He would. This foolish, ignorant relic was going to realise that. "Well I'm glad to hear you're on our side. That makes things much easier." The rest of it he listened to with a certain amount of interest. This was history talking. He couldn't help but wonder what his predecessor was thinking - In the face of such loyalty, how couldn't he have manipulated and used it? Why did he just turn away from it? It made no sense. He should have tried to use that, rather than simply stab her and throw her aside. He understood the rationale, but to hear it from her then her loyalty was plain. It was an error on his grandfather's part. Unlike the majority of the followers of the Shards of Hope, he did not believe that Aidan Samarost was flawless. This proved it.
"I can't say that I can think of ways you can claim revenge. Even if I could, I doubt I'd tell you." Jaden smiled wryly. "Now that we've managed to establish sides, I suppose the purpose of you coming here is really in question. You still haven't told me. I presume you want something, so tell me. What is it that we can do for each other? I assume this isn't just a catch up?" He spoke with a dry humour. The Inheritor hoped that her intentions were actually to help. He didn't particularly want to deal with any plots from her end, and certainly not today. He had a lot to do, and many meetings.
