Forever Dawn

"This prob'ley isn't that interesting, but I don't really want them overhearing me telling you about it. I don't really want two pretty-scary-when-they're-p*ssed-off werewolves after me." He said as he lent against the bare-brick that outlined the large fireplace opposite the kitchen table. He hung his head slightly and his mop of golden blonde hair flopped over his face.

Casey took a small intake of breath and spoke in a quiet, secretive tone. "Not too long after they became a couple, a few months at most, they broke up for a couple of months. You see, Mickey, being how he is, ran off on her and on the rest of us because he'd taken protecting his niece a little too far. He ripped two people to shreds, I can't recall if they were vampires or werewolves however. Not that it really matters. Basicly we were all p*ssed at him big time and he decided to run away. Lake, however, agreed with us that he'd gone to far and told him that if he left she wasn't going with him. That didn't change his mind. She pretty much begged him to stay. That didn't stop him. He left her crying her eyes out and barely able to speak she was so distraut that he was going. She spent three months like that I think. She'd even turn into her wolf form for days at a time just to get a small let up in how much pain she seemed to be in." He sighed and looked up as he finished the story. "Ever since he came back she's never said no to him or dared to have a mind of her own around him. She's scared of losing him again I think, so acting how she does, like she needs protecting, makes her feel like he won't leave her because he thinks she needs him to help her."

"I get what you mean."

 

"heres not that bad either..."he grinned

 

Wolfe's eyes hardened a conciderable amount. She let a low growl pass through her lips as she attempted to avert her mind away from the image painted upon her mind.
"How could he do that to her?" she sneered, looking back at Mickey through the doorway.

 

Casey shrugged. "It's beyond me, he's just always been a bit... over dramatic, even by my standards. He just needs to learn to look a little deeper, realise that she's more complex and just how much he upset her and just how much she loves him. I think he just takes after my father a little too much. He didn't treat my mother all that differently, only Mickey learnt not to do it more then once. He used to do it to her over, and over, and over again... I swear he didn't even care on the effect it was having on her. And they said the Malfoy's were bad... Grandad Draco had nothing on him..." He muttered bitterly. "Sorry, you prob'ley don't want to hear me rant about my old man." Casey chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Of course not." Lake giggled, grinning back at him.

"I find your tales rather enchanting, actually..." wolfe muttered, still glaring at Mickey, but turning sympathetic once her gaze turned to Lake. Her mind was still running over what Casey had just told her, and began to wonder wether she should actually talk to Lake a bit more. Help her regain confidence? I mean, werewolves are girls with one another anyways, and with them both being girls...

 

"Well then you're a first." Casey chuckled. "I guess really it's anyone's guess what's going to happen next with those two. There's no doubt they love each other, but I think Lake's going to reach breaking point eventually... It's like watching my parents again. Mickey's my son, and I love him, but I also think of Lake as a daughter... And I can't do anything without upsetting them both. So I've decided to see what happens and hope I can step in before it all gets too much and one of them snaps..." He said as he looked over at them. His voice slowly descending into melancholy.

"How long do you think we're gonna be looking after little Caleb here for then?"

 

"shouldnt be too long...Carrie never takes ages to get things..."he said"He's been pretty quite....which is a good thing."he grinned

 

Wolfe nodded. "If I find that he has hurt her... I will literally kill him." she shook her head, her hands gentley cupping her pale face. "I hate it when men treat women in a bad way... it makes me really..I dunno...Defensive, I guess." she smiled weakly at Casey.

 

"He hurts her again and he's in deep sh*t from just about everyone I think." Casey nodded in agreement before patting her on the shoulder gently. "And not all guys are out to hurt women. I've never done anything like that, so I know that for a fact. You'll find someone who'll help you lower your defenses one day. It's just finding them." He smiled encouragingly.

"Okies." Lake nodded. "And he has been very quiet."

 

he smiled"cute when he's quite."

 

Wolfe smirked. "I don't know about that." she shook her head. "I get hostile around people I don't know properly, and that isn't good."

 

"Just takes one person who wants to get to know you, or they might find hostility attractive." Casey said as he sat down on the kitchen counter. "Plenty of women with short fuses or the occasional grumpy temperament get married quiet easily. Lots of men find women with backbones sexy."

"Of course, he's a little kid." Lake giggled.

 

he laughed

 

"Gee, thanks." Wolfe laughed, shaking her head again. "But not girls that growl at them." she stated, pulling another ciggurette from her pocket and chewing on it.

 

"Oh I don't know, some men pay for women to snarl and be all sadistic and stuff. So they've got to like it a whole lot." Casey chuckled.

Lake smiled sweetly.

Wolfe burst out laughing.
"the mere thought of me doing something someone else tells me to, is too funny, Casey." she sighed, smiling. She looked up at him with that same smile she wasn't used to having upon her face. "I'm hoping you don't know that information through experience."

 

"Nah, I don't know through experience." Casey laughed. "I've never done anything like that, it's been Lyra and only Lyra. My little sister just had some really dodgy friends, and worked in some really dodgy places. Not that she did anything, at least I hope not." He added with a small eyetwitch.

"Oh look who it is!" Lake giggled. "I think she missed you Mickey."

 

she did...since we got back all we've had is ' can we go see him yet?'"Maddie said "esmya quieten down alittle..dont give caleb a fright..."
