"So did I..." Lake sighed sadly, the intake of breath shuddering slightly as she held back tears.

 

"but its different now....isnt it?"he smiled she really likes little kids...

 

"I guess so, least people don't think straight away I'm a danger to society." Lake replied.

 

"no ones gonna think that when your around me..."he laughed

 

Lake giggled slightly.

 

"thats what i've been waiting for..."he grinned

 

Lake smiled back at Mickey. "So... er..." She started to ask nervously. "What do you think about having kids yourself? You still have the same opinion on it as you did five years ago?"

 

"well..."he said"i dunno anymore....i cant help but feel a little jealous of Maddie and Cory because they have kids...and Caleb's been good so far...and Esmya and him like me so....i guess i wouldnt mind kids..."

 

"Well... Do you want them or not...? I mean like... There's not minding them, which is more like putting up with them, and then there's wanting them."

 

"your right..."he said"yeah,i do want kids....it'd be cool to be a dad..."he grinned

 

"Really?" Lake asked exictedly.

"Yeah,i dont see why not...its not like im getting any younger and a kid will be perfect,our own little family."he grinned

 

"Yeah..." Lake said in a happy, almost dreamy voice. "It'll be nice to finally have a family."

Lake smiled sweetly and tilted her head cutely. She laughed slightly and went back to looking at the young child she was holding.

Just at the moment Lake looked back down at Caleb a smallish white blur ran past the window, not long after the white streak had shot past there was a small thud followed by a very loud swearword. The whitish blur was, of course, Nate River Potter. Jamei's youngest brother, and primary 'carer' of sorts. In all honesty it seemed more like he was her translator at times, and the two of them were rarely apart after what they'd been through together. And the idiot had just run into a large shrub in a plant pot that Casey had been trying to coax, the muggle way, into an interesting shape for quite sometime.

 

he smiled at her and caleb then looked up"Nate? is that you....oh wait...it has to be you...only you know a word like that or have the guts to say it..."he said going to the window

 

"That f*cking tree is spikey!" Nate exclaimed as he jumped up, brushing down his dark jeans and his white shirt. After a moment of muttering angrily to himself about the downside of shrubbery he calmed down suddenly. Regaining his usual composure. "Tell your Dad I'm sorry about killing his bush." He said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Anyway, have you guys seen Jamei?" Nate asked, both his hand and his tone dropping. "She's been missing for two months now, we thought she'd just done one of her disappearing acts. But we've usually heard from her by now..."

"two months? Lake said she saw her here earlier...i havent seen her."

 

"You have?!" Nate exclaimed, jumping over to Lake. "Where is she? Is she alright?" He asked, quickly firing off a load of other questions too fast for anyone else to hear.

"She seems fine." Lake replied quickly through the stream off enquiries. "She has some injuries on her face but nothing too bad I don't think. Cept her eyes, they seem really strange..."

"Strange? How do you mean?"

"Well, they seem... I dunno. Like she's been hit by a really bad curse or in a chemical spill or something."

 

"Any reason she just up and left?"
