For All the Wrong Reasons

Hiru sat and waited patiently. He realized he didn't even know her name.

Jordyn walked in the rain, heading for the cafe. She became frightened at the sound of rumbling laughter that she recognized earlier. She continued walking then jumped into an easy jog. She made it back to the cafe. She was almost ready to cry that she was so happy to be there. She hated the dark.
"Ready?" she asked chuckling.

 

Mica walked to the park, and once there she sat on the swing. She swung back and forth slowly, just watching the rain fall and other people pass by. She didn't bother to pull her hood up or anything.

 

Hiru sat and waited, wondering when she would be back.

 

A waiter approached Jake and asked for his order. Jake replied and the waiter went off into the kitchen. A few minutes later, the waiter returned, holding something in his right fist. He put his fist down on Jake's table, then opened it to reveal something that wasn't uncommon to see here in Hazard. Anti-depressants.
"Well, take 'em." the man said, moving the pills closer to Jake.
"Um...no?" he said plainly, pushing them away from him.
"Government orders, kid. You don't take 'em, you go to the police. Now be a good little Hazard boy and take the pills."
"Fine." Jake said, putting a hand over the pills, making it look as if he were about to grab them. "I wouldn't dare defy the government..."
At the last moment, his hand balled up into a fist and smashed down on the pills. They now lay as a small crumpled heap on the table.
"Oh, you're in a whole lot a trouble now, kid." the waiter said, walking through a door next to the kitchen door.
Jake immediately got up and walked out of the cafe. If they came after him, it would be pretty hard to find him in the pouring rain...

Jordyn saw what went on with the other waiter and the gentlemen at the table. Before the young person could walk out, she put her hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay hun, I'll take care of it for you," she winked. She went to the counter and jumped over it, walking into the backroom, following up on the waiter

 

Hiru saw her go back and and sat back in his seat.

 

Jake turned around and looked at the girl. He was almost a head taller than her.
"Great." he mumbled as she walked away. "Now I have little girls fighting my battles..."
Better get out of here. Punishment can be a pain sometimes...
With that, he pushed open the door and walked out.

 

Jordyn came back out with a sigh. She was frustrated. She saw the door closing and figured out that the guy was already gone. She walked over to Hiru's table and sat down in front of him.
"Hey there," she chuckled.

 

"Hey." he said, smiling. "We were never properly introduced. I'm Hiru."

 

She smiled.
"And I'm Jordyn," she introduced

 

He smiled and said "Nice to meet you." He held out his hand.

 

Jordyn looked down at her hands and kept them to herself, frowning.
"I'm sorry, I can't," she admitted.

 

"Hm? Why not?" he asked.

 

She shook her head.
"It's complicated," she said, sulking in her seat and pulling her hair behind her ears.

 

"Try me." he said, still smiling.

 

"It's nothing to judge by others... Only for myself," she said. She pulled her sleeve up and looked at the scarred burns on her hand. She held out her hand.

 

"What happened?" he asked, shocked.

 

"You know those boys that are a little... crazy around me?" she asked.
