For All the Wrong Reasons

Jordyn frowned.
"I'd get out of here as soon as i could," she said, walking past him.

 

"Hm? Why?" he asked, following her.

 

"No one born here is allowed to leave the city.." she said.. She looked back at him and sighed.
"But anyways, I have to get back to work. If you stick around I might give you a tour later," she said.

 

"Where do you work?" he asked, still following her.

 

"The cafe.. I get off at 8, so i'll meet you in the park about 8:10," she said.

 

"Is it okay if I wait for you there?" he asked, his stomach growling.

 

She smiled.
"I've got another 2 hours before my shift is over though... I'd be happy to get you something to eat at the cafe," she said, walking through the front doors. She saw the same teenagers sitting at the same table. A few giving wolf calls. She ignored then and walked up to the counter, jumping over.

 

"You got a proplem guys?" he asked them.

 

Jordyn closed her eyes and pulled her hands over her ears. She could still hear their replies.

"Naww man, just having some fun,"

Jordyn felt a sob rise in her chest, but instead let out a cough.

 

"How about you leave the nice girl alone." he said.

 

Jordyn crouched down behind the counter,
Nice girl eh?

She listened to the responses

"It's not like we're hurting her man.... we can leave," and she heard them stand up and heard the bell on the door 'ding'

 

Hiru smiled and waited to be seated.

 

Jordyn stood back up straight and jumped back over the counter, in uniform.
"Right this way," she said to Hiru, getting the utensils.

 

brandon walked into the cafe just as some teenagers walked out his eyes narrowed the turned in
"hey jordyn can i get a root beer to go?"
he asked sitting down

 

"Alright." he said, following her.

Nicky stared at the ground for no reason. "Whats happening to this world?"

 

Jordyn finished up her tables and stretched her arms, after getting all her customers satisfied.. She looked at Hiru...
"I'm sorry but, I have to head home real quick and change.." she smiled.
"I'll be back in a few minutes," she said then dashed out the doors and down the dark sidewalks. It was errie for her.

 

He smiled and nodded, watching her leave.

 

Jordyn ran down the dark street. She pulled a flashlight out of her pocket and she turned it on, and ran into the house, changing into some jeans and a white hoddie. She pulled the hood over her head and ran out the door and up the street.

 

Jake sat down in a large chair, reading a book next to the burning fireplace. His butler came along and stood in front of him.
"Mr. Masters," he said very politely. "My apologies, but it seems that we have run out of food supplies, even though it is time for your supper. No need to worry, I'll run to the market immediately."
Jake chuckled and got up, putting on his black jacket.
"Don't worry about it, Henry." he said, walking towards the door. "I'm gonna find a bite to eat. Want me to pick anything up for you?"
A smile spread across the butler's face, relieved that Jake wasn't mad.
"No thank you, Mr. Masters."
"Alright," Jake said, walking out of the door.
It was pouring outside, but he didn't put his hood on. The rain pleased him. His hair was dripping by the time he entered a cafe. Luckily, it was warm and cozy inside.
"'Sup." he said to another boy in the cafe.
Jake sat down on a stool next to the window, pulling out the newspaper and reading the headline.
