Final Fantasy IX/X-2: Melodies of the Gullwings

Zidane was confused but decided not to ask. "Come on, we got to get to Burmecia before it's too late!" Zidane soon started running ahead and Yuri soon followed suit.

 

Everyone else followed them to the rainy country. Jecht put his hood up, "Freya, Yuri, how does it feel to home?"

 

Yuri didn't mind the rain as he let it soak him. "Feels kinda strange to come back home." He said to Jecht as he noticed Freya was still running towards the castle as everyone was at the entrance.

 

Yuna ran alongside Freya.

 

Zidane walked into the town a steh group remained at the entrance and looked at the destruction caused. "So...this is Freya and Yuri's home... What are you doing? Get over here." He said to them and noticed Freya about to speak.

 

Everyone followed them, Yuna sighed. She expected this kind of destruction from Shuyin.

 

Yuri heard a noise and saw two clowns at the windowsill.

"It is them again!" Zorn has said to his other half and Thorn spoke. "Most persistent, they are!" and then the two spoke at the same time. "Black Mages!"

One black mage from the stairs and another from a door walked to meet teh group. "KILL!" but the shocking part was it came from teh black mages as the soon started to cast magic only to fail as Zidane and Yuri soon made short of them.

"The general will punish you for this!" Zorn said and Thorn argeed "Yes! Very scary, it is, when the general gets mad!" The two went back inside and soon left as Yuri sleathed his sword and Zidane his daggers.

"Let's move on." Zidane said and lead them up teh stairs one of the black mages came form as they were soon walking up a hallway with candles lit which would lead to the higher level of the town and to the castle.

 

Jecht held Vivi as they followed them.

 

Zidane stopped walking up the stairs. "Someone's coming!" he said as Burmecian zitizens came runnign down about three of them as a Soilder noticed the group.

"Who are you!? Are you in league with the black mages!?" He questioned them and Zidane answered. "No!" but the solider pressed on. "You're lying! There's a black mage right behind you!" He said, looking at Vivi.

 

"Vivi has nothing to do with those mages!" Jecht said, protecting the young mage.

 

The solider stared at Vivi. "Lies!" as Freya had soon stepped up. "He's telling the truth!" she said to the solider who looked at Freya.

"...Freya!?" He was surprised as Freya replied. "It's good to see you Dan."

The two spoke for a few minutes as Dan ran down the steps as Freya looked at the group. "I will protect my home and my king at any cost. Let's go to the
palace."

Freya soon lead the way as Zidane looked at Yuri. "Ever been to the castle before?" he asked Yuri who shook his head. "We lived in the countryside but my father and me just visit the town to buy supplies and head back."

More citizens went pass the group, lead by Burmecian Soliders until the group reached the castle walls.

"Geez, this is terrible... Freya, I'm sorry, but from the looks of this, I don't think the king made it......." he said to her but Freya immediatly leapt to a higher level of the castle walls.

"There's someone inside the palace! What are you waiting for? Get up here." She said to him and Zidane shook his head slightly. "You make it sound so easy... I guess I'll start here." He leapt upon a ledge which was left by debris as it was sturdy enough to hold a person.

"Come on." He said to them and noticed Vivi attempt to try but fell. "Oh, man. I'm gonna go on ahead. Try to find a way up here. I'll meet you up top." he said to them and leapt with ease to other ledges before reaching Freya who lead him inside as there was some people, one was Queen Brahne, another was Beatrix and Shuyin

"Who is that?" Zidane asked quietly as the two hid behind pillar out of sight but in hearing range.

OOC: would Aerith like to take enemy control?

 

Yuna changed to Berserker and followed them up the statue. She saw Shuyin and was surprised he was working the queen.

 

Kuja walked towards Queen Brahne and the others.

"I find this rain quite pleasant....I feel as though the raindrops are blessing our victory."

 

Yuri was also able to follow up the statue as he also hid himself behind a pillaras Zidane took notice of the group coming up one by one and looked at Kuja. "Who is that?" He asked himself quietly while listening.

 

Brahne smiled and nodded, "Yes, it is quite victorious. Beatrix, what is taking so long?"

"I don't know, your majesty. I sent Zorn and Thorn to search the perimeter, I will join them, shortly."

"There's no need, right, Kuja?" Shuyin turned to his working partner.

 

"Indeed. Rats always look for new homes when they sense an earthquake. They've probably moved onto the sandy tree house by now. So you see, it's too late. The king has turned tail and fled."

 

"Sandy tree house? You mean Cleyra?"

Beatrix sighed. "It will be hard to get past that sandstorm."

 

"Well, it sounds like they're going to Cleyra. I've always wondered why people call it the 'City of Illusion'." he said to Freya before noticing a Burmecian Solider running up the evil group.

"Geez, he's gonna get killed!" Zidane said and stood up behind his pillar.

"Burmecia will never fall! Prepare to die!!!" Teh Soilder said with courage despite being afraid.

 

Beatrix was about to attack the soldier when Jecht appeared, blocking her attack. Yuna and the others appeared, when Shuyin saw Yuna in songstress dress, he smiled. He cast Curse and Silence on her.

 

Beatrix looked the Soldier who crawled back as Zidane looked at them. "Hold it!" as he whipped out his daggers as Freya spoke.

"You'll have to deal with us first!" She looked to the solider. "We'll take care of this. Go find the king. Protect him with your life."

The solider looked at Freya. "...Thank you, Freya." and the solider ran from the palace as Beatrix stared at the group.

"Ha ha ha. I've never been so humiliated in my life. I once killed a hundred knights single-handedly... To me, you two are nothing more than insects." as she glared them with a powerful intent.

Yuri's eyes widened as he could feel she wasn't kidding around as she easily pushed aside Jecht's sword and Zidane ran at Beatrix, attempting to slash at her but Beatrix easily blocked his attacks with a signle hand on his sword and turned around, sending a kick to Zidane's stomach as Zidane felt the air escape from his stomach and flew across the air a bit before crashing into the ground as he slowly got up. "Not bad....for a lady."

Yuri was quick to react as Beatrix soon came ruuning him and he drew out his main sword, blocking her sword with some effort. "You reacted quickly to notice my attack, interesting...are you Auron of Lindblum I been hearing about?" she asked him as Yuri stared her.

"No, I'm just a wandering swordsman." He replied before jumping back as Beatrix stared at him. "Then what is your name?" as Yuri readied himself. "Yuri Ferrence."

Beatrix moved some of her hair aside. "Then Yuri Ferrence, prepare to be struck down by my sword." she said as Yuri gulped a bit. "And I know she means it." he thought to himself, focusing.
