Final Fantasy IX/X-2: Melodies of the Gullwings

Zidane jumped off the ledge and landed next to her. "Okay, It's a date!" he said to her. "how about we head back to the guest room, I'm sure the minister will sign up." he walked with her.

Yuri and Rikku soon got on a taxi cab and flew to the castle as they headed to the guest room as Steiner, Freya, Braska, Yuna, Jecht and Vivi were already there as well as Zidane and Dagger.

A Officer stood with a cage filled with monsters. "It may be a tradition, but this is a dreadful festival. So many lives lost every year, especially because of him..." and the Captain walked up to him.

"Hardly. The festival is a test of manhood. I tingle with excitement every year." He said a bit excited as a guard walked up to the two. "This is the first carriage. All the preparations for the Festival of the Hunt are complete."

The Officer nodded. "Very good. Now we wait for the signal." as the Captain saluted. "Yes sir!" and soon the cage burst out with Fangs coming out unknowningly to the guards.

~Other side of Town~

A Solider came running to a Officer. "The fangs have been freed." and teh officer stared at him, surprised. "What!? We haven't even received the minister's authorization! We believe that they're going to release 'him' any minute. Alright, release the mus before they let him loose. Hurry!" and teh soilder nodded the two ran out before releasing the Mu's.

~Large Gate Area~

Solider number one looked at the two other occpuants of the gate area. "All is ready sir!" as a Breeder chuckled. "This year's specimen is perfect. Nothing can stop him!" As teh gate was being rammed by a monster as Solider two looked at the Breeder. "Make him stop! It's too early!"

The breeder turned to him. "How? I have no control over him." as teh soilder cursed himself and looked to the other. "Open the gate at once! The gate's gonna fall apart!" as teh gate opned and the Breeder yelled out. "GO, ZAGHNOL!" as the huge monster rushed out.

~Bakc to Guest Room~

Steiner looked at Dagger. "Please, Princess. You might actually enjoy it." he said as he noticed her reply as an Elite Guard came in. "Alright, let's begin." he handed pieces of paper to the crew.

= Festival of the Hunt =

Hunters, on your mark! Ferocious beasts swarm about the castle town!
The bigger the catch, the higher the score!

The time limit is 12 minutes. Use air cabs to go to other districts.
Once you lose in a battle, you will be forced to retire. The winner
will be crowned Master Hunter and receive the hunter's reward. Who will
come out on top!?

The Elite Guard looked at them. "What do you wish for your hunter's reward?" He asked the members who woudl be hunting as Zidane spoke out. "I'll go with Gil all the way!" as Yuri then spoke out his prize. "I'll go with a new weapon." as the Guard wrote down when Freya mentioned an Add-on.

"And you Mr. Vivi, Mr. Jecht and Miss Rikku?" he asked them.

 

"I didn't sign up!" Vivi was shocked. Jecht smiled. "I signed us both. I'll take.... an Potion."

"Then, I'll take.... an card."

"Hmm..... I'm going with.... an Elixir."

 

The guard looked at the,"Okay. Gil, Add-on, Potion, Elixir, Weapon and...a Card. The festival will begin shortly. You all have different starting points. Hunter Zidane and Hunter Yuri will start in the Theater District, Hunter Freya and Hunter Rikku will start in the Industrial District, and Hunter Vivi and Hunter Jecht will start in the Business District." Yuri and Zidane nodded as they soon headed out to their starting points.

The non-Hunter were on the bridge which can give the town a clear view of where people are as Steiner looked at the princess. "Such rudeness! Princess, they are treating you like a commoner!"

 

Tidus ran in quickly "am I late to join in the festival" Tidus said

 

"Come on, Steiner. Lets enjoy this!" Dagger smiled, Yuna shouted for Jecht and Rikku.

 

Steiner looke dout from teh view. "Hmmm, you're right, I can see the entire town, Princess look! Master Vivi is also participating!" He pointed out

The Elite Guard stared at Tidus. "You are a little late as the Festival's already started, what is your Hunter's Reward Mr. Tidus?" He asked him.

Zidane charged at a Mu and slashed it with his daggers as he soon gained 12 points

Yuri meanwhile ran at a Mu and sliced another before quickly cutting up a Trick Sparrow as he gained 14 points and Zidane and him ran down the road as Zidane spotted a Trick Sparrow and attacked it, gaining himself two points.

Zidane - 14 points
Yuri - 14 Points
Freya - 22 points (that's what she gets first time)

Festival Monster Points Gained from Defeat:
Mu - 12 points
Trick Sparrow - 2 Points
Fang - 21 points
Zagohol - 50 points

 

"umm well I know this sounds weird but try and get a nice bracelet for. Something girls will love" Tidus said said as he ran outside and took out his sword "alright the object is to destroy as much monsters as I can well then lets try this" Tidus said and ran close to some of the monsters and used provoke "hey over here you weaklings" Tidus yelled as the monsters ran at him angry. Tidus then jumped up into the air and then landed on a monster and jumped off. He swung his sword and sent his energy rain at them destroying some of them

 

Jecht took out a two Mus and a Fang, earning him 33 points. Vivi tried to run away.

Rikku took on four Fangs, three Trick Sparows, and five Mus, putting her in the lead.

 

Tidus managed to beat 2 fangs managing to get to 172 and get into the lead "alright I'm doing awesome and now to speed things up" Tidus said as he casted haste on himself

 

Rikku casted Assault on herself and ran to fight more monsters. Vivi finally managed to cast his magic to fight, Jecht just continued.

Auron watched with the regent and the minister, smiling at Tidus.

 

Tidus destroyed another Mu and raised his fist high into the air "come on Tidus let's give it all we got" Tidus yelled as he used cheer to boost his strength and went to fight some more monsters

 

Yuna began to cheer for Tidus.


Rikku and Freya crossed path and fought together.

 

Yuri and Zidane soon continued on figting a mixture of Mus, Sparrows and Fangs as Zidane got to 178 as Zidane smirked. "Beat that!" and Yuri easily complied with 190. "You were saying?" he asked him as Zidane and Yuri ran to the taxicab and flew to the business district.

Zidane ran ahead whiel Yuri took care of more Fang and Zidane soon saw Zagohol as Yuri caught up. "Who takes him on?" he asked Zidane.

"I gotta take it!" he prepared his daggers and Yuri prepared his sword. "Not if I have anything to say about it."

 

Dagger cheered for Vivi and Zidane.

 

Tidus ran past them and slashed at the Zangohol "you snooze you lose" Tidus said

 

Steiner was cherring on Vivi with a loud voice.

Zidane and Yuri took turns attack the Zagohol and Yuri jumped back and slashed down as teh Zagohol fell on it's knees as Zidane also attacked at teh same time as they waited for the points as a speaker said "Yuri gets ahead by 50 points, he is on 258!" Zidane scowled at him.

"Now I won't get that date!" as Yuri laughed. "Not my fault he fell to my sword." a bell rung through Lindblum, signifying the end of the Festival.

 

Yuna cheered loudly, Jecht picked Vivi up and headed for the castle. Rikku followed, Freya jumped down and followed.

 

Tidus sighed as he walked back to the castle "damn I lost count on how much I killed I got around 270 but Im not sure. I need to win" Tidus said

 

Yuri and Zidane headed back as well as the Minister stared at each of the contestents. "It was a very close race between you all, here are the scores and I have to say, we are all quite surprised since this is the first time it happened, you are all on 258."

Yuri gasped. "No way...." The Minister nodded. "And the Regent only found it fair that those who won should receive their prizes." The minister stepped forward and handed everyone what they asked for.

 

Tidus was surprised but accepted his prize and looked at it with a smile "this is perfect" Tidus said
