Final Fantasy IX/X-2: Melodies of the Gullwings

"That girl.... she's more important to you than you think...." Jecht sighed. "Don't ask why I'm with a black mage. I'm atoning for something horrible to my child."

 

"I can see why you would want to atone" Tidus said and began to walk away

 

"So, you do remember something....." Jecht said, watching him walk away.

 

"no but I can tell you one thing. That girl is important to me" Tidus said

 

"Tell me how important. Is she the girl you would die to protect?"

 

"she is a girl I would rather give up my existence for" Tidus said and continued walking

 

Jecht watched him and walked back to Vivi. Yuna began to sing and a crowd of people began to gather around her to listen.

 

Tidus walked and sat on a roof. He soon started to hear Yuna sing

 

"This song for someone important to me whom I've been looking for a long time." Yuna took a breath and began. "I know that you're hiding things using gentle words to shelter me. Your words were like a dream, but dreams could never fool me, not that easily."

 

Tidus watched her sing

 

“I acted so distant then, didn’t say ‘goodbye’ before you left, but I was listening. You fight your battles far from me, far too easily.†Yuna continued to sing Lenee's song.

 

Tidus continued to listen looking at Yuna

 

“‘Save your tears because I’ll come back,’ I could hear you whispered as you walked through that door. But I still swore to hide the pain, when I turn back the pages.†Yuna wiped her tears and sang.

 

Tears also appeared in Tidus's eyes but he quickly wiped them away

 

“Shouting might be the answer. What if I cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart. But now I’m not afraid to say…†Yuna stopped for a moment and she looked like Lenee as she continued, her hands over her heart, “What’s in my heart. ‘Cause a thousand words call out through the ages. They’ll fly to you, even though I can’t see, I know they are reaching you, suspended on sliver wings.â€

 

Tidus watched on

 

“Oh, a thousand words, one thousand embraces will cradle you. Making all of your weary days seemed far away. They’ll hold you forever.†Yuna continued to sing as Lenee.

 

Tidus watched as he listened to her sing

 

Yuna danced a little, then a transparent image of her as a summoner appeared and they sang in unison. “Oh, a thousand words,â€

“A thousand words.â€

 

Tidus watched amazed at what was happening
