Final Fantasy IX/X-2: Melodies of the Gullwings

The boat soon came around.

Yuri looked at Yuna. "I kinda...lied to him." He blushed a bit.

 

Tidus walked out on the street. At first he was thinking about who he was looking for but his mind changed and he began thinking about why he kept on falling unconcious. He felt something was wrong

 

"Hmmm?" Yuna looked at him.

They got in the boat and were rowed to the castle, Freya and Amarant were there, with Dani, Anns, and Terya.

 

Steiner noticed the group. "Oh Master Vivi, what brings you here?" He asked him.

"Well, I said he was my adopted son." He said

 

"We came to say goodbye to Dagger," Vivi said, Jecht nodded. "And wish her luck as queen."

Yuna smiled.

 

"I suppose I can set you all up with an audience with her highness if Master Vivi so wishes." Steiner said. "Please wait in the hallway while I inform her." Steiner said and walked into the castle

Yuri smiled as well.

 

Tidus began to hold his head as he walked. He put his handon the nearby wall to keep in balance

 

They waited for them. Garnet took a deep breath and sighed.

 

Steiner returned to the room. "Your Highness, Master Vivi and his friends request an audience with you before they leave." Steiner informed them.

Beatrix was out and saw Yuri, Yuna and Squall. "Ah, Yuna, Are you friends with this man?" She asked her.

 

"Yes, we met on the way to Lindblum, this is his adopted son."

 

YUri was surprised Yuna went along with it even though Squall was her adopted son.

"I didn't see him the last time I saw you Sir Yuri." She said and Yuri chuckled a bit nervously. "Well, he prefers to be with Yuna as he sees her a sort of mother." He reposnded as Beatrix looked at the two adults and noticed Yuri's small change but decided to not mention it.

"Are you two peharps a couple then?" Beatrix asked.

 

"No, I just considered him a powerful ally, that's all."

 

Tidus continued to stagger down the streets and soon fell down onto the streets and held his head twitching

 

"Oh I see." Beatrix said and looked at Yuri. "I must ask for your forgiveness from the last time we met and the events that occured." Beatrix said and Yuri scratched behind his blue hair.

"You did what you thought was right and serve your country so I don't blame you for anything." He replied and Beatrix looked at him. "You are correct, peharps next time, we shall draw swords as allies and not enemies." She said

Yuri stared at her calmly. "I shall wait for that day to come Beatrix and the day we truly test each other in swordsmanship." He said and Beatrix brushed his hair aside. "I have a request." She said seriously and continued. "I wishto recommend you as a Captain of Alexandria to protect our weakened kingdom and our new Queen."

Yuri stared back seriously and spoke. "The offer is very generous but I'm afraid I must decline it." He said without a doubt and Beatrix's eyebrow raised. "Explain." She said.

"I am but a travelling swordsman who seeks to hone my skills with the blade as I promised my late father to see the world and train myself as I have also a goal to complete, only until then, would I ever consider such things and also...Alexandia's going to regined anew by Garnet and I'm sure she'll do ehr best to fulfill her mother's wish and the people of this kingdom, along with everyone at her side." He said.

"I see...very well, her highness shall be having an audience with her compainions, I assume you wish to join them?" She asked and Yuri laughed which took Beatrix by surprise. "Of course, even if Garnet is royalty and a Quuen, she's always a friend to all of us." He said and Beatrix smiled.

"You'd make a fine knight Sir Yuri." SHe said.

 

Garnet nodded and Seymour offered his arm. She nervously took it and walked out to meet everyone. Jecht smiled and sighed.

 

Yuri had also arrived to see the group along with Squall, Yuna and Beatrix, by the time he saw Dagger, he was certainly awestruck. "Wow...now that's one beautiful Queen." He said as Zidane just remained quiet.

 

"Your highness, I, along with everyone else here, wish you the best of luck as Queen of Alexandria. May your reign be as wonderful as your mother's." Jecht bowed, Garnet blushed and smiled, nodding. Auron sighed.

 

Yuri laughed a bit and spoke. "And remember this, always be yourself no matter what happens." Yuri said and Freya looked at Zidane. "Have you nothing to say?" She asked and Zidane shook his head.

"...No." He said

Steiner looked at Garnet. "Princess, we must leave now." He said until Eiko came running up the stairs.

 

"Dagger, I always want us to rivals!" Eiko shouted, Lenne followed her and picked her up. "And you'll always have the fond memories of our time together. In fact, I think you, Eiko, Braska, Yuna, and I might have each made something for each other." The five summoners exchanged the good luck charms they made for, then Garnet left with Yuna, Braska, Rikku, Paine, Beatrix, Steiner and Seymour.

"Zidane, did you really have nothing to say?" Jecht asked him.

 

"I had a whole speech ready for her. But it would've been a lie! How could I lie to her!? 'Good luck, Dagger! I'll be watching you from afar.' 'Come find me if you need someone to talk to.' It's a big fat lie! That's not how I feel at all! That's not how I feel...at all." Zidane trailed off as Yuri rubbed his forehead.

"I guess that's your problem to sort out then as I won't have an answer for you, you would have to find that yourself." Yuri said honestly.
