katanas are two handed weapons and to wield two of them would be hard.

Dude even if you could lift a masamune without the help of materia, (which is of course not real), you would not be able to wield it fast, meaning people can easily get under your guard.

    Sexy's Back

Yeah I'm back. I think Enigmatic Boy's totally right. The purpose of a dao or voulge is to replace a blade for longer range. The obscenely long sword is made to look impressive and have no function. The center of gravity would be too far from the hilt for it to be effective. Also the sheer weight just makes it illogical. Anyways, they only make showpieces of that type.

Like I said it's a lightweight showpiece that would shatter at one clash. It's like those paperweight wushu weapons. But he makes an even better point with it's guarding capabilities. It's just not feasible to use that kinda weapon. It's maneuvers are limited to swinging sideways and down. Anyone can read it and evade it. You'd be lucky to win against someone using a knife.

I like Xemnas's weapon, although to use it as a sword I would put them together like Darth Maul's lightsaber and instead of it being a light saber make them into blades X3. That would pwn.

I thought you said it was a masamune. You know five-seven foot long sword. That's what I take issue with. Also, I doubt those blows were delivered to kill. BTW What would you use then?

it is a masamune. my sister used a black katana i used a masamune 7 ft long
and they were BLUNT so no killing blows but i hit her in the side of the head, left a bruse, if it was sharp probally would have cut her head in half. and katanas are also not so good aginst knifes i would probally just use my hands.

I mean by killing blows full force with total intent to murder your opponent. What are these made of? I still stand by the statement that a masamune is made for show. How experienced are you and how experienced is your sister?

A simple weapon becomes deadlier when it's weilder is more skilled, I'm guessing.

Skill will take you far in a battle. But you have to make sure that you keep that luck factor in the mix. Cause luck always plays a big role.

Yup, luck does play a big role in a battle. But depending on what lucky things happen to you, you may have to adapt to an entirely different situation. This also may make you change on your fighting style or the way your weapon is used.

But lucky only truly happens once in a fight you don't get many second ones. Plus if you had to change weapons you most likey didn't start with a suitible weapon to start the fight to begin with.

True, it only really happens once, you hardly ever get any second chances. Also I meant change your fighting style or the the way a weapon is used, not really changing your weapon. You also brought up a good point about going in with a suitable weapon.

That is why you should always have back up styles of fighting to keep your opponet on your toes. Cause someone who only knows one style is set on a certain comfont zone. Once you break that zone they can't adapt or make costly mistakes. So my point for this post is don't be stiff like a log and unchanging. Be more like bamboo and sway with the wind.

Too true. That's what the bag is for. My dad calls it that when you have a reserve of different kinds of techniques. The greater your tech. list is the better. That's why I learn both fakes counters offensive and defensive blocking and other stuff. It's all really interesting to me.

True, very true. So do you agree with style or strength? This post just reinforced my point of view on style.
