Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

"I guess so," Sora said in agreement, following the redhead into the kitchen area. He hoped this would go well; he didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble for a girl he loved so dearly.

 

Kairi walked into the kitchen and went into the closet, pulling out a blue apron for Sora. She shut the door and looked over at him. "You think you can handle chopping vegetables?" she teased lightly, smiling at him.

 

Sora crossed his arms in front of him, looking at the girl a few steps away. "That depends...do I get to use a knife or do I have to pull out my Keyblade?" he teased back, a sweet smile on his lips.

 

Kairi couldn't help but giggle as she approached him. "I'd prefer a knife in my kitchen, if you don't mind," she said with a smile. She held out the apron for him, ready to get the cooking underway.

 

Sora chuckled at Kairi's comment. Yeah...that would be much better. "I think I can manage with a knife," he said with a smile. But that smile faded slightly when he looked down, seeing Kairi having an apron extended towards him. He arched a brow in surprise and suspicion. "An apron?" he mused, not having ever worn one before. They seemed kinda sissy to him...

 

Kairi nodded. "Yeah. To protect your clothes from the mess you'll surely make," she teased with a big smile. She knew he would realize she was joking, but at the same time she noticed that he wasn't too hyped about wearing it. Of course, Kairi wouldn't make him if he didn't want to, but she secretly thought Sora would look cute if he wore one.

 

Sora scowled playfully and took the apron out of her hands, putting it on without a problem. Kairi was probably right; he would make a big mess. He hoped not for her sake, but it was probably going to happen whether he was careful or not.

 

Kairi smiled sweetly, turning away from Sora and heading over to the supplies she had set up on one counter. She wasn't sure if Sora knew what she was making, even if he did buy the ingredients. But all of that was set up now, and he was surely going to see it in the long run.

 

Sora finished tying the string around his back and he took a few steps over toward Kairi, the teen standing behind her and setting his hands lightly on her upper arms. "So, what're we making?" he asked, lightly running over Kairi's right arm with his thumb.

 

Kairi smiled softly at the touch, turning her head a little to look over her shoulder before focusing back on the ingredients in front of her. "Lasagna," she stated, confident in her cooking skills. "It's my dad's favorite." Hers too, of course, something she had grown to love ever since she lived here.

 

Mmm," Sora hummed, a small smile on his lips. He leaned his head forward over Kairi's shoulder and gave her a light peck on the cheek before he withdrew to his last position. He couldn't say why he had randomly kissed her; he just loved reminding her how cared about and how loved she was.

 

Kairi giggled softly a few times, setting up the food items that needed to be cut and diced. "And then, after that, we'll be baking cookies," she said, her smile growing; she knew the mention of cookies would make Sora happy.

 

Sora couldn't help but smile at that last bit; cookies always had been his favorite, especially Kairi's. "You'll share a few, right?" he asked with a smile. "After all, it would be torture to make them and not be able to eat a few."

 

Kairi nodded. "Of course, silly," she said. She looked over her shoulder at him, seeing Sora's bright eyes. "Even if you weren't here tonight, I was planning to save a few for you anyway. I know how much you love chocolate chip cookies." She flashed a smile his way, recalling that the last time she'd baked the cookies Sora and Roxas had double-teamed them, leaving only a few leftover.

 

Sora chuckled softly, his smile widening both at Kairi's words and her smile. "You know me well," he said sweetly, bright blue eyes shining. He couldn't resist chocolate chip cookies...they were his favorite home-made baked good.

 

Kairi's smile softened some as she nodded. She then lifted her chin and pecked the boy lightly on the lips before pulling away. "Now, what do you say we get to work on this dinner, huh? My parents are supposed to be home in a few hours," she said with a small smile. She was sure cooking with Sora was going to be interesting, much more fun than cooking alone anyway.

 

Sora nodded slightly, his hands falling back to his sides. He then brought one and rubbed over the back of his spiky head, a smile on his lips. "We should get started," he agreed.

 

Kairi nodded. "Right. You wanna start by slicing the tomatoes for me?" she asked sweetly, looking at the counter as she said this. She saw the garlic and onions set up next to the tomatoes, and she would handle one of them while Sora did that.

 

"Anything to get to making cookies more quickly," Sora said sweetly, a wide smile on his lips. He stepped forward and grabbed onto a knife sitting by the tomatoes, the teen starting his job without hassle.

 

Kairi shook her head at Sora, but in amusement. She should have expected a response like that. The redhead stood beside Sora, grabbing another knife and getting to work.
