Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora smirked slightly, taking Roxas' bait. But then he noticed one important detail that would affect things. "We only have one list, though," he said, eying the list in Roxas' hand. It would be impossible to do this if they didn't know what to shop for.

 

Roxas's smile faded at that news, the boy's focus falling on the cart in front of him. He furrowed his brow as he tried to come up with a solution to the problem. "Hmm..." Roxas let his eyes rest on the list in his hands, finally reading it over carefully for the first time. "How about once we pick up one item, I yell out another, and we'll just race to the next aisle?" he tried, glancing at Sora.

 

Sora nodded, grinning. "That's just crazy enough to work," he said with a smile, a chuckle leaving his lips. If it's competition you want, that's what you'll get, Roxas, he thought, smiling at his best friend. This was going to be a lot of fun.

 

Roxas smiled again, but it was one of competition. He nodded and put one foot on the section underneath the shopping cart, one hand gripping onto the handbar. He glanced at the list and saw the first thing written and then gripped onto the handle with his free fingers. "Okay, olive oil's first. On my mark," he instructed, preparing himself for this race he and Sora were about to have.

 

Sora moved his cart right next to Roxas' and placed his feet, his eyes wandering up the signs above the isles. That would give him a good idea of where to look. Ah, there it is, he thought, a smirk appearing on his lips as he faced forward again.

 

"Three..." Roxas counted down, eyes scanning over the signs to find the right aisle. "Two..." he continued, spotting it. He glanced at Sora and saw the smirk on his face, the boy immediately making one to match. Roxas faced forward again. "One. Go!" he cried, immediately pushing off toward the right aisle.

 

Sora pushed himself forward right after Roxas, his cart lightly bumping Roxas' off his path slightly. "Oops," Sora said with a smirk, continuing toward the isle. He stood on the back of his cart and went in, grabbing the item without any problem. "Got it!" he shouted triumphantly.

 

Roxas laughed, not only at how happy Sora seemed to be that he got the oil but at what exactly they were doing. "Okay, tomato sauce!" he cried, zooming forward and sharply turning at the end of the aisle, his cart squeaking a little. He pushed with one foot, the other on the cart as he made his way toward where the tomato sauce would be.

 

Sora looked up at the signs, scowling. He couldn't find the right isle! He went out his isle backwards and looked up at the signs, trying to find it. There it is, he thought, finally seeing it.

 

Roxas glanced over his shoulder, seeing Sora, but the blond already knew where he was going. He turned into the aisle and started down it, heading for the canned tomato sauce.

 

Sora scowled, gripping the handle-bar more tightly. He couldn't beat Roxas, so he wasn't even going to try. From his current position, he could get to the next item much more quickly than Roxas could.

 

Roxas rolled by the tomato sauce, grabbing a can and laughing in triumph. "Ha-ha!" he cried, tossing the can into the cart. "Ground beef!" he hollered, informing Sora of the next item.

 

Sora smirked and turned his cart to the left, heading in that direction. Roxas was at the other side of the store, so there wasn't much competition for this item. He hurried over to the freezers against the wall, eyes on the ground beef he needed.

 

Roxas already knew he was going to lose this item, yet he saw Sora and followed him anyway. He pushed his cart, zooming by the aisles as he went after his friend. If he was on the other side of the store, how could he hear him call out the next item?

 

Sora pulled up by the item and stopped his cart, grabbing the beef quickly. "Got it!" he shouted, hoping Roxas could hear him. But he probably could; both of them had great hearing.

 

"Great!" Roxas called, zooming down one of the bigger aisles. "Next is noodles!" he cried. He scanned the signs as he went by and used his feet to stop himself just before he passed the right one.

 

Sora made a ninety-degree turn and sped off toward the right isle, knowing that he had to hurry if he had any chance to beat Roxas for this item. He saw the right isle and turned into it quickly, the tires of his cart skidding slightly.

 

Roxas pushed himself forward before riding the cart down the aisle, seeing Sora at the other end. The noodles were right in the middle of the it, so it was really depending on who could reach the item faster.

 

Sora grunted softly and pushed himself forward quickly, seeing that he was going to have a problem with Roxas--there could have been a collision in their near future...but Sora didn't think about that at that moment, only trying to get to the product before Roxas.

 

Roxas stared ahead, his eyes located on the box of noodles they needed to get. They? He? Or Sora? It all was based on who got to the food fastest, and he pushed himself harder, wanting to grab the item first.
