Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora felt Kairi climb onto his shoulders and he brought up his hands, lightly grasping her legs before he resurfaced. Some of his hair was in his face, so he blew upward and blew it out of the way. He looked around at the competition, seeing that most of the teams were ready.

Namine moved onto Roxas' shoulders, instinctively steadying herself. Of course, she wasn't worried about falling; Roxas would keep that from happening. Being pushed off his shoulders, though, that was something entirely different.

 

Kairi balanced herself atop Sora's shoulders, looking down at him for a moment before scanning the other players. She didn't really know what to think.

Roxas grasped onto Namine's legs firmly but gently, rising above the water slowly. He didn't want to knock her over; that would be a really bad start. But he would never let that happen, of course.

 

Namine balanced herself on Roxas' shoulders, a smile appearing on her lips. She brought up a hand and lightly ruffled Roxas' hair, a sweet smile on her lips.

The lifeguard blew his whistle. "Begin!" he shouted. After that though, his attention was completely directed toward the beautiful girl standing by his stand.

Sora noticed all the other couples had targets picked out, none of them coming for him or the blonds. "Roxas and Namine," Sora silently told Kairi, a smirk appearing on his lips. He turned that way and started over, keeping his grip on Kairi's legs as moved.

 

Kairi looked down at Sora and smiled slightly. "Okay," she said silently. It'd be fun against their two best friends, anyway.

Roxas laughed and glanced up, though he didn't move his head. He smiled and looked around, focusing again on the game. Everyone already had their targets. But Sora and Kairi... Roxas's eyes finally found them, and he noticed they were coming for him and Namine.

 

Sora brought himself and Kairi to right in front of Roxas and Namine, trusting that Kairi would be able to handle her best friend. Kairi had experience that Namine hadn't; he was pretty sure he and Kairi had done this more than either of the blonds had.

Namine's eyes widened, a smile appearing on her lips. She should have known that the two couples would go against each other right away. Namine raised her hands and reached for Kairi, careful to keep her balance.

 

Kairi giggled. "Ready, Namine?" she asked, teasing slightly as she brought out her arms to grab hold of her best friend. This was a game after all. She wasn't so worried about herself and Namine, but more about the boys--hopefully they wouldn't get too competitive.

Roxas instinctively tightened his hold on Namine slightly, knowing soon that she was going to get pushed. He would have to keep his balance, so Roxas placed one foot behind the other in order to do that.

 

Namine giggled at Kairi's statement, the blond feeling a bit nervous. Kairi would probably beat her; somehow, she and Sora were an excellent team. They could communicate without speaking, sometimes. That was a great advantage. "Ready."

Sora balanced himself and Kairi, his eyes wandering from Namine to Roxas. He grinned at his best friend, seeing the competitiveness in his eyes.

 

Roxas glanced at Sora and lifted his eyebrows as he grinned, almost in a challenging way. But somehow, he felt they would lose. He hadn't really played Chicken before, and Kairi and Sora, well... It was obvious they knew how to play. And when Kairi started the small "fight", it was pretty clear that he was right.

Kairi bit her lip, fighting back laughs as she started the game with her best friend. It had been a while since she had played, but she still knew how to do it. That was an advantage she had, she guessed.

 

Sora fought the urge to say anything to Roxas; there wasn't much use in talking smack when the only thing they had to do was keep balance. So he lifted his eyes to Namine, looking for a weakness.

Namine bit down on her lip in concentration and gripped Kairi tightly, pushing forward slightly without losing her balance on Roxas. Even though she was doubtful they would win, she wouldn't give up easily.

 

Kairi focused on pressing Namine back as well, her arms on her friend's shoulders. She was strong, but not immensely. Considering she and Namine were the same person, Kairi assumed the blonde would put up a challenge for her.

 

Namine bit down harder on her lips and felt herself slip slightly, but she rebalanced herself before she could fall into the water.

There! Sora saw Namine having a rough time when Kairi pushed a certain way. "Do that again, Kairi," Sora silently instructed her. "Push hard against her left shoulder and she'll go down."

 

Roxas felt Namine slip for an instant and glanced up, though he really couldn't see anything but the two girls' arms.

"Right," Kairi replied. She did as instructed and looked at Namine's left shoulder, pushing against it with the strength she had.

 

Namine lost her grip on Kairi entirely, the force making her slip even more than she had before. She tried to re-balance herself, but she couldn't do it in time. A yelp left her lips as she slid of Roxas' shoulders and fell into the water behind him.

 

Roxas whirled around when Namine's legs fell from his shoulders, the boy's eyes wide. He saw the girl's blonde hair from under the water, and he reached a hand out to grasp her arm so he could help her up.

Kairi watched her friend fall and instantly raised her hands into the air, grinning. "Woo!" she cried in triumph, instantly giggling afterward. She looked down at Sora and ruffled his damp spikes.

 

Namine opened her eyes under the water and saw Roxas' hand, which she grabbed without thought. She quickly resurfaced, blond bangs in her eyes. Her sight landed on Sora and Kairi, who were celebrating their victory. She couldn't help but giggle; they may have lost, but it was fun anyway.

"Victory!" Sora cried out right after Kairi, the teen not releasing her legs. He felt her ruffle his hair, which made a grin appear on his lips.

 

Roxas turned slowly in the water, a soft smile appearing on his lips. "Great job, guys," he commented, still holding Namine's hand.

Kairi looked up, a wide smile on her face. "Thanks!" she cheered. Of course, the two blondes put up a good fight too. Though it hadn't lasted long, it was still fun.

 

Sora was just about to say thanks as well, but he heard a splash a little bit behind him. He slowly turned himself and Kairi to the side so that he could look; there was only one couple left now, so he and Kairi had to head over.

Namine held Roxas' hand and looked at Sora, seeing the competitive expression on his face. He was looking at the other couple now--his next opponents. Namine would have a lot of fun watching this; she was sure Kairi and Sora would do great.

 

Having no choice, Kairi turned as well when Sora did. She looked down at him and followed his line of sight, locating the other girl and boy leftover for their competition. Well, that was fast, she thought. "Are you ready?" she asked the boy she loved from her heart, perwinkle eyes concentrating on their competition.

 

Sora nodded wordlessly, subconsciously gripping Kairi's legs more tightly. The other couple looked pretty tough; he hoped Kairi would be able to handle it. And if not, it was no big deal. After all, this was all for fun.

Brock pat his girlfriend's leg, a smirk on his lips. What weirdos, he thought to himself, looking at Sora and Kairi. He moved forward, knowing the girl on his shoulders would have no problem keeping her balance.

 

Samantha smiled slightly, but it wasn't meant to be pleasant. It was a smile of cockiness. She and her boyfriend had just taken down their competition easily, so she didn't suppose the next pair would be any different.

Kairi felt herself tense slightly in expectancy. She could tell by just the looks on the couple's face that they would put up a challenge, but this was all in fun. Hopefully they understood that as well.
