Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine's smile softened at the look in Roxas' eyes. The conversation may have been playful just a minute ago, but now things felt a bit more serious. After all, the only reason Roxas was over was because she fainted...which Namine still didn't know how he knew to come.

 

The boy smiled at the girl he loved. "Come on. Let's get you on the couch," Roxas suggested, moving over more to Namine's side. He started to slide his hands and arms underneath her legs and behind her back to pick her up. As much as he loved the lighter moment between them, it was time to take care of things.

 

"Mm," Namine hummed in agreement, her sky blue eyes following Roxas' movements. It only took a moment for things to click in her mind that he was picking her up. We've been here before, haven't we? she thought, recalling one of the earlier memories she recalled where he had been carrying her in his arms.

 

Roxas made sure he had a secure grip on Namine before picking her up. Once she was in his arms he slowly turned more toward the couch so he could set her down. He lowered her form and lightly set her down on the couch cushions. At least she would be more comfortable now.

 

Namine felt herself relax into the couch cushions, the furniture much more comfortable than the ground. She looked down at her hands folded in her lap before her blue eyes wandered upward, seeing Roxas still standing in front of her.

 

"Be right back," Roxas told Namine with a smile. He then turned around and headed out of the living room, remembering he left the front door open, and unlocked. The boy entered the area and approached the door. He pushed it shut, making sure to turn the lock. Ever since previous events, he'd always wanted Namine to lock her door.

 

Namine's soft smile faded slightly, the girl feeling tired once more. Her eyes started to flicker shut, but then she felt her feet get really warm. She looked down and saw Ty laying down on them, the dog not even looking at her. Namine exhaled a silent breath, leaning her head on the side of the couch while she remained upright. Ty had the right idea; it was definitely time to sleep.

 

Roxas turned around and left the small area, walking into the living room again. He smiled softly at the sight of Namine and her pet. The girl must have been much more tired than he originally thought. His smile faded slightly as he approached the couch, stepping around Ty to get to the girl he loved. Roxas quietly sat down next to Namine, his eyes lifting to her face once the weight was off his feet.

 

Namine opened her eyes fully when Roxas came and sat beside her, the blond girl turning her head and gaze to look at him. She could tell he was trying to read her, and she knew that what was most obvious was how totally exhausted she was. After such a rough week sleep-wise, that was to be expected, though.

 

Roxas felt his lips spread into a warm smile at the look in Namine's eyes. He could tell she was incredibly tired, and he was going to help with that. The boy lifted the arm closest to her and brought it up, his side open to her. His eyes, gazing into hers, were expressing what he was asking of her. Roxas had a feeling she would be more comfortable if she had some support.

 

A small smile started to appear on Namine's lips, the girl being reminded of a lot of other times when Roxas opened himself to her. Just earlier this week he had done this for her. Looking at it now, the circumstances weren't too different. The girl silently took in a breath and scooted over, leaning against Roxas lightly. She set her head on his shoulder, her shoulders slouching slightly in relaxation.

 

Roxas let his arm wrap lightly but securely around Namine, the boy looking down at her. "Goodnight, Namine," he said to her softly. Hopefully his presence would help her feel a little more protected and relaxed.

 

Namine looked up at Roxas, a small smile on her lips. "Goodnight, Roxas," she said softly. Without missing a beat, she spoke again. "I love you." She knew without a doubt that she did love Roxas, and she always would. Even if she never got her memories back of him, she'd love him till the day she died.

 

Roxas smiled a little more before leaning his head forward a little and kissing Namine's head. "I love you too," he whispered. Thinking back, his life had been so hard without her. And ever since he met her, things have gotten easier for him. Yeah, they had a few bumps in the road, but they got through them together. And that was how it was going to be, forever.

 

Namine smiled softly, looking into Roxas' ocean blue eyes for one more moment before she turned her head down a little bit, her eyes slowly flickering shut. For the first time in a week, she wasn't afraid to go to sleep. And it was all thanks to Roxas, the love of her life.

 

Roxas felt his smile soften as he leaned his cheek against Namine's blonde head. It was time to sleep, and for Namine's nightmares to finally be put to rest. However long it took, Roxas was going to stand by her. He learned from his mistake of not having faith, and it still hurt him to this day to think that he had lost it. But it was there now, in his heart, and he was never going to lose it again.

 

Namine lightly wrapped an arm over Roxas' stomach, the movement so natural she didn't even think about it. A soft breath left her lips as peace flooded her heart, the girl falling into an exhausted slumber a few moments later.

 

It took a few moments for Roxas to become sleepy, the boy not being nearly as tired as Namine. He listened to the rhythm of her easy breathing, using that to help guide him to sleep. After a few minutes, he could really feel unconsciousness kicking in, and soon enough he fell asleep alongside the girl he loved.

 

In her slumber, Namine only saw blackness. No nightmares, no dreams, no new memories returning to her. But then things changed; a white light started forming, and then it grew larger and larger until that was all she saw. When the light reached the peak of it's brightness, Namine gasped and awakened, her wide eyes opening to a sunlit living room. Her memories were back.

 

Roxas took in a soft breath at the small sound, but it didn't wake him. The boy's grip on Namine adjusted slightly, his hold on her becoming more secure. His head turned a little, so his chin was tucked to his chest. His dreamless, peaceful rest continued even as the sun shined on his face from the window.
