Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine shut her eyes, her hand staying still on Ty's head. "So, that's it, then?" she asked softly. "You've given up for good?" Her voice represented some false sadness and disappointment to match the mood of the act she and Roxas were putting on.

 

Roxas kept his eyes closed, nodding once. "I'm afraid so," he admitted with mock-sadness. "Competing with something that walks on four legs and is covered in fur, is warm, and has bad breath? Impossible." He looked up at his friends who were observing the action and he winked at them, smiling a little bit.

Kairi laughed quietly, bringing a hand to her mouth to try and soften it more. This was going so far, and was entirely impromptu. But it was hilarious all the same.

 

Sora grinned widely, a chuckle leaving his lips. He couldn't believe how far this had gone, but it was hilarious all the same.

Namine sighed softly in sadness, opening her eyes again. "What do you think, Ty?" she asked her pet. "You think you win this round?" As if on cue, Ty got up out of her lap, wagging his tail as he brought his nose right up to the blond girl's face.

 

Roxas turned his head slightly to the side to look at the two on the ground, frowning. "I guess it's settled then..." he said in sadness, but really, he had a trick up his sleeve.

Kairi watched the interaction between Namine and Ty, and then looked to Roxas, seeing that he was back to the act with his expression. But she was sure this wasn't the end of it; Roxas wouldn't stop this soon.

 

Namine exhaled a breath and gently rubbed Ty's ear, bringing her face away from his panting without thought. Roxas wasn't kidding about the dog having bad breath; It was pretty terrible at that moment.

Sora arched a brow at Roxas' expression, a smile still on his lips. He couldn't tell what Roxas was thinking, but he had a feeling he would find out soon enough.

 

Roxas bit his lip, glancing to the side to see that Namine wasn't paying attention. Good, even better. He then dashed over. "She's mine!" he cried in direction to Ty, bending down behind Namine and putting his hands underneath her arms, beginning to quickly lift her up.

Kairi's eyes widened slightly and she started laughing in surprise, and at what Roxas was doing. Despite the fact she wasn't sure on what he was doing, it was still pretty humorous.

 

Namine yelped in surprise, her eyes wide with shock. But beyond the initial shock, she realized just how hilarious Roxas' sudden move was. She started laughing, finding everything here very comical. Her eyes landed on Ty, who looked just as surprised as she did.

Sora laughed, his brow no longer arched as he watched the situation. He was actually taken off-guard by Roxas' actions; That was something he never would have thought to do in a million years.

 

Roxas continued to lift Namine up until she was standing. He then gently (but quickly) turned her around and bent down again. This time, though, he put her form over his shoulder, his grip on her legs.

Kairi started laughing more, finding the quick and smooth, yet funny actions to be entertaining. What was Roxas doing?

 

Namine's eyes became even wider, and because of the way she was over Roxas' shoulder, she was able to see Sora and Kairi for the first time in a while. But the two of them looked just as surprised as she felt. Of course, they also looked amused, because it wasn't happening to them. "Roxas?!" she said in surprise. "What're you doing?!" Despite her confusion and concern for the future, she couldn't keep the amusement out of her voice.

 

Roxas glanced over his shoulder that Namine's body wasn't resting on, the boy's blue eyes sparkling. "I bet Ty can't do that," he said with a grin, his goofiness no longer staying locked inside. He turned around a little with Namine's stomach against his shoulder, her legs in his vision as he faced his friends. He instantly grinned from ear to ear, proud of his success.

 

"No," Namine said in agreement, a laugh leaving her lips. Ty most definitely couldn't sweet her off her feet and swing her over a shoulder. She was wondering why Roxas was doing it now, but she supposed that he was just being silly.

Sora folded his arms across his chest, catching onto Roxas' proud grin. "Smoooooth," he said, extending the sound of the vowels for affect. He didn't know what Roxas accomplished through all this, but it was extremely amusing to watch.

 

Kairi laughed at Roxas's face and Namine and Sora's comments. This was definitely interesting.

Roxas smirked at Sora's comment, tilting his head to the side slightly. "So..." he started, standing still for a moment with Namine still over his shoulder. He then looked down at the ground, seeing that Ty was gazing up at him and surely his owner. Roxas then focused back on his friends. "You guys wanna go for a walk?" he asked, his lips forming a small, goofy smile.

 

Sora nodded wordlessly, a grin spreading on his lips. He knelt down and picked up the end of Ty's leash, knowing that he was the only one eligible to hold onto the easily-excited dog. He would have picked up Kairi and swung her over his shoulder, but the risk of re-injuring himself was too great.

Namine froze at the idea. "Are you kidding?!" she asked without thought, unable to see any of her friends' faces. She was a bit flustered, but still amused. "Roxas!"

 

Kairi nodded as well, agreeing to the walk in the park. Roxas didn't seem like he was going to be putting Namine down, and she guessed that was part of the plan.

Roxas tightened the grip he had on Namine's legs with one arm, the boy glancing over his shoulder at her. "What? You love walks in the park, Nam. This will be fun," he said, sounding honest but at the same time silly. He glanced down at Ty, smiled, and then started walking, all while Namine was thrown over his shoulder.

 

"Roxas!" Namine said, scolding him and trying to sound serious but failing miserably. She sighed and released a few laughs, not fighting Roxas' grip anymore. There was no way she could break free from him unless he purposely let her go.

Sora grinned and gently tugged at Ty's leash, bringing the dog forward with him. The two of them were even with Roxas and Namine, who looked just plain silly.

 

Roxas felt himself begin to chuckle at Namine and her laughter, and he let his own go freely. He knew by the tone of Namine's voice that she was serious, but at the same time didn't care. He looked to his side to see his friends walking next to him, and he caught the redheaded one grinning in amusement. He did the same; it was kind of hard not to.

 

Sora looked down at Ty, who was looking from the path to his master. The dog looked a bit lost, and Sora couldn't help but sympathize with the pet. After all, it wasn't every day something like this happened.

 

Later that night...

Roxas slept soundly on the couch, Namine right next to him. After the eventful day, with the battle, the scary movie, and the interesting charades at the park, he had been exhausted. It was late in the middle of the night, and everyone had been asleep for a few hours.

Kairi slept next to Sora, breathing evenly as she welcomed her dreams. She'd had fun today, and because Sora was by her side tonight, she wasn't scared like she would have been if she was home alone. So she slept peacefully, undisturbed by anything happening around her or the thoughts of the movie.

 

Sora slept in a sleeping bag next to Kairi, the two of them in Roxas' room. He had suggested they sleep in there so that if they woke up at different times it wouldn't affect each other that much.

Namine, asleep in an upright position on the couch next to Roxas, was surprisingly troubled. The day in the park had been a ton of fun, but the memories of the movie haunted her more than she had expected them to. She dreamed terrible things now, and she couldn't pull herself out of the nightmares.

She was running through the dark woods, eerie trees hanging over top of her head. Behind her, was a man in a white mask, chasing her. She couldn't outrun him, no matter how hard she tried. In fact, it seemed like she was running in place. When he grabbed her arm, she let out a scream, but no sound was made. She whirled around and tried to hit him, and shockingly, the slap knocked the mask right off his face. But what was under the mask terrified her more than anything else could have.

 

Roxas slept comfortably beside Namine. He was leaning against the corner of the couch, his head tilted against the back of the couch and his arm wrapped around the girl beside him. The pictures that popped up in his unconscious were ones of the good times he and his friends had together.
