Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine giggled, looking up at Roxas and then quickly turning back to Ty. She pet his ears, focusing her attention on him. "You heard me," she said, making herself sound as serious as possible.

Sora watched the scene with a smirk on his face; He loved seeing Namine and Roxas interact like that, because it was often how he and Kairi were together. And since they always had a good time with it, he was sure the blonds enjoyed the playful banter as well.

 

Roxas arched an eyebrow, glancing at his two friends who had been watching the scene. He gave them a look, instantly hearing Kairi giggle. His look was as if to tell them something he was thinking:"Did she really just say that?".

Kairi found herself smiling at her two friends' antics. Roxas's expression was enough to have her laughing, and Namine's way of playing along was perfect. She knew Roxas would crack soon, and the playful banter would continue until some action took place. This is what happened all the time with them, and her and Sora too.

 

Sora let out a few soft chuckles, unable to completely suppress the laughter. This act was cute, and he couldn't help it if the situation was so hilarious.

Namine rubbed Ty's ears with both hands, her eyes staying on his. He was such a cute dog, she couldn't help but keep her blue eyes locked with his brown. Not only that, but she had to keep a close eye on him to make sure he didn't cause any unexpected trouble.

 

Roxas turned his head to look back at the girl sitting on the ground next to him, arching an eyebrow playfully. "So... What does Ty have that I don't?" he wondered aloud, his fist still resting on his hip. "I'd like to know how my competition is keeping your attention so wonderfully."

Kairi felt a few soft laughs leave her again. This was pretty funny to watch, but then again, these two blondes were like this a lot of the time they were together. They teased each other and just had fun. She and Sora did that sometimes too. Kairi supposed that was a way their relationships were alike.

 

Namine fought the small smile that was coming onto her face by keeping her eyes on Ty, the girl still rubbing his ears. "He's about the same height as me," she said after some thought, recalling that Ty was almost exactly the same height as she was when he was on his back legs. Roxas was a few inches taller than that....Not that it really mattered.

 

Roxas fought the urge to smile or laugh, somehow still keeping his smirk in place. "Uh-huh..." he said slowly, bringing a hand to his chin as a fake act of thought. "Anything else?" he asked, glancing back at Namine and leaning toward her somewhat in interest.

 

"...He's softer to snuggle with," Namine stated, her tone of voice coming across as a tease. Obviously Ty was softer because of his silky fur coat. "And warmer," she added, thinking along the same lines as before for that logic. Ty was often laying or sitting with her, and whenever he was, Namine couldn't help but feel warmed and comforted by his presence.

 

"Well..." Roxas sighed, furrowing his brows and crossing his arms as he stared at the grass. "I guess I'm outta luck there," he said, playing along. He wasn't furry, and his skin certainly wasn't as warm at Ty. Those facts were very true. But that Namine was being serious, not so much.

 

Namine looked up at the teen, a gentle smile on her lips. "Of course, at least you don't tackle me and lick my cheeks," she said with a laugh. "You've got that going for you." Someday she'd have to teach Ty not to attack people with his loving affection.

 

Roxas shrugged. "Eh, not as good as being cuddly, though," he said, glancing at Namine before his eyes darted back to the ground. His tone was still playful--a mock-disappointed playful. Surely Namine caught onto it, because that was part of this little game they were playing.

 

Namine giggled, keeping her eyes on the boy. She could see his playful rouse, and she couldn't help but find it adorable. "Have you seen how sloppy some of his kisses are?" she asked, a few more laughs leaving her. They got pretty bad sometimes; They were so slobbery and wet. "I think that diminishes the value of his cuddles." The licking was a pretty serious offense, after all.

 

Roxas furrowed his brows slightly, keeping the same position. "Still... I'm not warm, or soft," he said, his voice representing his fake disappointment. He briefly glanced up at Sora and Kairi, smirking on the side of his face that Namine couldn't see. After a second he returned to his expression before, his smirk disappearing as he took on the look of sadness and stared at the ground.

Kairi bit her lip to keep in her laughter. This was getting more funny as it went on.

 

Sora chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. Roxas put on a pretty convincing act; He hoped Namine could see through the charade and know that Roxas was only joking.

"Awww," Namine cooed, looking over at Roxas. "Poor you," she said soothingly, a sad puppy-dog look appearing on her face. She didn't know how to respond to Roxas' last words, so she said those few general words herself so that she could have another moment to think of something.

 

"Yeah..." Roxas said through a sigh. He let his blue eyes flicker to the side to look at Namine, and they softened for real when he saw the look on her face; it only made the appearance of his more realistic. He looked away after a second, staring at his shoes as he scuffed one of them against the grass. "I guess I can't compete with that..."

 

Namine sighed softly, shaking her head. She faced Ty again, who had laid down in her lap and been silent for a while. '"I guess not," she said quietly. "Not when you give up that easily." Her tone of voice held a bit of teasing behind it, but other than that, it sounded legit.

 

Roxas instantly turned his head to look at Namine, his eyes widening somewhat. "Huh?! I'm not giving up!" he suddenly cried before he could stop himself. Once the words were out, he blinked with wide eyes, glancing from his girlfriend to his friends and then back again. He wasn't giving up! ...Was he?

Kairi couldn't help but giggle at Roxas's outburst. He and Sora really were one and the same, because Sora would have most likely reacted the same way. Especially if Riku said it.

 

Sora silently smirked, keeping his eyes on Roxas even after his best friend turned away. If he were in that position, he knew that he probably would have reacted the same way Roxas would have. That was why he had to work really hard to suppress the laughter that wanted to leave him.

Namine sighed softly, her eyes shut halfway as she pet Ty's head. "Well, it sure sounds like it," she said quietly, keeping up the charade. After all, Roxas had made it sound like he had no intention of competing with Ty at all...All because the dog was warm and furry. It was a bit comical, and because of that, Namine had a hard time keeping her face serious.

 

Roxas shook his head as he scratched at his blond hair. "How can I compete with fur when I don't have anything close?" He proceeded to look up and pull at one of his spikes.

Kairi let a few chuckles slip. Just observing this whole thing was entertaining enough. She glanced at Sora and saw that he was enjoying this as well.

 

"Hmmm," Namine hummed in thought, her eyes staying on Ty. There was one thing that Roxas could do that Ty couldn't...Okay, so more than one thing, but one thing that was extraordinarily important: Speaking. But that had nothing to do with fur, so Namine let the thought stay in her head.

 

Roxas sighed again, dropping his head. "It's no use, I suppose," he said, giving into this fake temptation to "give up". "A dog is man's best friend, after all..." He scuffed his shoes against the grass, staring at it before he closed his eyes and exhaled softly. Secretly, he wanted to smile wide at how deep this charade had gone.
