Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Ah, there they are, Sora thought, spotting the two blonds entering the park with a large golden dog. "They're here," he informed Kairi softly, rising to his feet. He waved to his friends, hoping they'd notice him and Kairi by the pond.

Out of the corner of her eye, Namine noticed somebody waving. She turned her head and saw that it was Sora. She brought up a hand and waved back, a smile coming to her lips. She also noticed that Ty got a bit more excited, pulling on the leash in Roxas' hand as he tried to go toward their two friends.

 

"Whoa! Easy, Ty," Roxas said calmly, his grip tightening on the leash. Why was Ty so excited all of a sudden? The boy looked in the direction and spotted Sora not too far off. Oh, that was why. Roxas smiled slightly at his friends before tending to the dog again. Ty was pretty excited to see them...

Kairi looked up when Sora spoke and when she saw him wave in a particular direction, she followed it with her eyes. A smile graced her lips when she saw her friends not too far off, and she waved lightly at them.

 

Sora stopped waving, seeing that his friends had spotted him. His smile softened as he turned toward the girl sitting on the grass. He offered her a hand, a gentle smile on his lips as he gazed at her. He had outstretched his right arm, so there was no chance his other shoulder would hurt again.

Namine came out from underneath Roxas' arm, having a feeling he might need to hold back Ty with more force. Namine may not have been extremely strong herself, which explained why Ty sometimes broke out of her grip, but Ty was big enough to pull even Roxas a few feet.

 

Kairi let her eyes rest on Sora's hand before she looked to his eyes. Her smile grew slightly as she slid her hand into his, allowing him to help her to her feet.

Once Roxas was aware Namine had moved from him, he used his other hand to hold onto the leash. "Ty," he said, his voice firm. The dog was continuously pulling from him, obviously anxious to see Sora and Kairi. Especially Sora, since Ty seemed to have a soft spot for Roxas's best friend. Ty suddenly pulled a little harder, making Roxas take a slightly bigger step than normal. "Ty, easy boy."

 

Sora helped Kairi to her feet without a problem, his eyes staying on the beautiful redhead. And to think, earlier that day they...Well, they were in a bad situation. So bad that he preferred not to think about it. He kept his eyes on her, the teen wearing a small smile.

Namine giggled softly at Ty and Roxas. She found it funny that Roxas had insisted he hold Ty's leash, but at that moment, he was having difficulty holding onto the dog. "Having a hard time?" she teased lightly, a playful smile on her lips.

 

Kairi let her eyes linger on the pair of cobalt blue in front of her, her smile becoming one of shyness as Sora gazed at her. She bit her lip a little to fight the growing smile, her sight darting to the ground for a moment before she looked back up at the boy she loved. She could never permanently tear herself away from those eyes.

Roxas glanced at Namine, giving her a look. Jokingly, of course. "Very funny," he said, his sight darting back to Ty as he calmed down for a second. Roxas let one hand release the leash, the other holding it firmly. But then Ty moved ahead again, and Roxas used his muscles to fight against the mutt. "Ty, I mean it buddy. Calm down," he said, his eyebrows furrowing a little as he pulled back on the leash.

 

Sora smiled softly, seeing a bit of shyness in Kairi's expression. She was adorable like that, but since shyness was sometimes uncomfortable, Sora always tried to alleviate the feeling. He leaned forward and gave her a light kiss on the forehead, his eyes closing at that moment.

Namine smiled and moved to the dog, one of her hands coming to his head. "Easy, Ty," she said gently. The dog looked up at her, but then settled down right away. Namine reinforcing Roxas' comments apparently had the dog convinced that he needed to calm down.

 

Kairi's eyes instantly closed at the gentle touch and gesture, her smile softening. It was no longer shy, but happy. Things as simple as a kiss on the forehead made her feet very content with her life. How couldn't she be, with Sora and great friends like Roxas and Namine there with her?

Roxas let a breath go through his nose, his grip loosening on the leash. "Jeez. What do you feed him?" he asked in bewilderment, referring to the dog's strength as he looked up at his girlfriend. He was definitely not the puppy he used to know, and Roxas was glad he listened so obediently to Namine. Ty listened to Roxas too of course, but only on some occasions. He'd been over to Namine's so much that the dog seemed to take him as someone of authority as well, not as much of Namine though.

 

Sora pulled back after a moment, his eyes opening slowly. They landed on the girl in front of him, who looked very happy. A smile reappeared on his lips, the brunet glad to see that she looked at peace.

Namine giggled, turning her head to look at Roxas. "Whatever's available," she answered, a laugh leaving her lips as she spoke her next sentence. "He has completely depleted our food a few times since we got him." They went through dog food so quickly that sometimes they had to give him some scraps from the family meals. And whatever else was in the house; That dog ate just about everything.

 

Kairi let her eyelids lift when she felt Sora's lips leave her forehead. She immediately looked up at his face and her smile grew at the expression he wore. She couldn't describe it perfectly, but she knew it represented that he was happy too.

Roxas shook his head as he now calmly walked with Ty slightly ahead of him, no longer tugging on the leash. "It shows," he said with a chuckle. The dog definitely did have some power to him, even if he was so young. He guessed that was how it was supposed to be, though.

 

Sora turned his head and looked over at Roxas and Namine, who were coming closer. He gave Kairi's hand a gentle squeeze, since he had never released it after she was on her feet. Then he turned and started toward his friends.

Namine giggled and kept walking, a little in front of Roxas, right next to Ty. He was alright now...for the most part. He was still excited, but at least he wasn't trying to break away from Roxas anymore.

 

Kairi walked alongside Sora, her smile softening some as she turned her gaze from him to her two approaching friends. Roxas seemed a little flustered, and she wasn't sure as to why. But with the smile on his face despite all that, he seemed like he was pretty happy. As usual.

Roxas's smile grew into a small grin at Namine's laughter, the boy glancing from her to ahead of them when he caught sight of something moving toward them. More like someones, actually. He offered his smile to Sora and Kairi as he approached, and he noticed that Ty's tail started to wag as they got closer.

 

When they reached the dog and the two blonds, Sora gently slipped his hand out of Kairi's and knelt down in front of the pooch. "Hey boy," he cooed, a smile on his lips. He hadn't seen Ty in a long time, and he was a bit surprised at how big and muscular the dog had become.

Namine smiled softly, watching the interaction. Ty was very happy, and so was Sora. She knew that Sora always had wanted a dog, but at the same time, he didn't want to be tied down with the responsibilities that came with being a pet owner.

 

Kairi watched her boyfriend and Namine's pet interact, lightly intwining her hands behind her back.

Roxas looked from Sora to Ty. "He was very excited to see you," he said, referring to the little episode that had just ended a few yards back. Ty liked the couple before them, especially Sora.

 

Sora looked up at his best friend while keeping a hand on Ty's head. "Have a hard time holding onto him?" he asked, lightly joking. He had noticed it a little bit, but not too much, since he had been focusing on Kairi for the most part.

 

Roxas rolled his eyes and shook his head, but in a joking way. "I'd like to see you try. This guy's stronger than you think he is," he said, motioning toward Ty with a nod of his head. Roxas had underestimated Ty's strength, and that led to a tid bit of aggravation with holding onto him, but nonetheless a pretty humorous moment.

 

"Maybe I will try," Sora said with a smirk. He was open to being proven wrong, but still, he wanted to see just how strong Ty was. If only they could set something up where he'd pull hard on the leash.

 

Roxas arched an eyebrow. "Alright, man. You asked for it." He was curious as to how this would play out, if the moment ever occured. It'd probably be interesting. Roxas and Sora had the same strength, considering they were pretty close to being the same person.

 

Sora grinned and rose to his feet, giving Ty one last pat on the head before he looked at Roxas. He outstretched his hand for the leash, ready for the challenge. He was probably going to end up looking a fool, but he was mostly just curious about how strong Ty really was.

Namine smiled softly, amused. Sora was going to have his hands full with Ty. After all, Roxas had a hard time with the dog, and he and Sora had about the same level of strength.

 

Roxas unwound the leash from his wrist and put it in Sora's outstretched hand. "Good luck," he said with a smirk. Even though Ty was a dog, he was stronger than anyone could really predict. Sora would see that in a few seconds.

Kairi watched the scene before her with interest. "How exactly is this going to work again?" she asked softly. "What's going to distract him?" She was referring to Ty, and how he would become as excited as he had been before.
