Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

As soon as Roxas closed the door, the scent of pizza entered Sora's nose. He felt himself perk up a little bit, the thought and smell of food sounding extremely good to him. He hadn't eaten all day, and he was feeling very ravished now.

 

Roxas walked past the doorway to the living room, the boy carrying the pizza box. "Food's here," he said, offering a grin as he passed the doorway to head to the kitchen.

Kairi laughed softly at Roxas's goofiness before she felt her own stomach grumble a little. Yep, she was ready to eat. She knew Sora was, so she sat up quietly, aware that he would be wanting to follow Roxas.

 

When Kairi moved, Sora released her, smiling to himself at Roxas' behavior. He set a hand on the armrest beside him and pushed himself up, feeling a bit of pain in his shoulder. However, that sensation couldn't compare to the hunger he felt.

Namine smiled and rose out of her seat, straightening her clothes without thought as soon as she was fully upright. And then she headed for the kitchen, suddenly more hungry with the scent of pizza in the air.

 

Roxas felt his grin fade into a casual smile as he entered the kitchen and approached the table. He opened the box to find a pizza covered in everybody's favorite toppings. He licked his lips without thought, admiring the steaming, greasy food.

Kairi willed herself to get off the couch, the girl stretching a little when she stood. She then pulled at the hem of her shirt before looking to Sora, noticing the look in his eyes. She knew that look well. Kairi smiled a little and then proceeded to follow Namine out of the living room.

 

Sora followed Kairi, seeing that she had caught the look in his eye. He was pretty hungry...He almost felt like running past the two girls and grabbing the pizza first. But he would be mature and wait. After all, a few seconds more of waiting wouldn't make much more of a difference.

Namine entered the kitchen first, seeing Roxas standing near the pizza. She had to admit, that pizza looked delicious. She wasn't big on greasy foods, but every once in a while, it was a nice treat.

 

Roxas felt his smile grow a little more and he turned around to get some plates. He saw the girl he loved enter the room, the boy's smile stretching even more at the sight of her. He allowed his blue eyes to linger on Namine's form for a second longer before reaching the cupboard and getting plates.

Kairi traveled through Roxas's home, reaching the kitchen just a few seconds after Namine did. She could already smell the pizza, the smell appetizing from where she was. Even the sight of the pizza, now opened, made her feel hungrier.

 

Namine felt herself blush faintly from the look Roxas gave her. He just looked...so happy. And the way he looked at her, with his love burning in his eyes...Well, it made her feel a bit flustered. But hopefully none of her friends would notice that.

Sora came in behind Kairi, his eyes immediately finding the pizza. "That looks great," he said without thought, a small smile on his lips. Not only did it look good, but he was sure it would taste good as well.

 

Roxas glanced over his shoulder as he reached into the cupboard, seeing Sora before his eyes rested back on the shelf. "I hope it tastes just as good," he started. "It cost me twelve bucks." He pulled the plates from their place on the shelf and shut the cupboard, turning around.

Kairi looked to Roxas and approached the table. Roxas shouldn't have had to pay for this himself; thinking about it now, she should have offered a few dollars to cover some of it.

 

Sora grinned sheepishly, taking a few steps forward. "I would offer a few dollars toward it," he started. "But I'm broke. Sorry, man." The brunet really was sorry; Roxas had helped him out a lot, not just in the past day but for as long as he had known him. And Sora always wanted to try and chip in for something like this, even if it was small. It was just how he showed his gratitude sometimes.

 

Kairi nodded in agreement. "I have a little money on me," she stated, reaching into her pocket. "You should have it. You shouldn't have had to pay for a pizza for all of us." It really was kind of silly, but for some reason she had a feeling he wouldn't accept it. Sora and Roxas were alike in another way--they never took other people's offers unless it was necessary, and she was sure this wasn't one of those "necessary" moments.

Roxas looked at Sora and Kairi, then shook his head. "It's okay," he said to both of them with a small smile, walking over to the table to put the plates down. "It's no big deal."

 

Namine had been about to make the same offer as her friends, but judging by Roxas' response, he wasn't going to accept anything. She didn't bother trying. Instead, she gave him a smile. He was a great friend, a great boyfriend, and a great person in general. She was blessed to have him in her life.

"Alright," Sora said, shrugging slightly. He wasn't surprised Roxas declined the offer, because if he were in the blond's position, he would have rejected it as well.

 

Kairi stuffed the money back in her pocket and nodded. "Okay," she replied with a gentle smile. Yup, the two boys were alike alright. It was only right that they were practically the same person. No doubt they had the same heart.

Roxas set the plates down and looked at the pizza for a second, his sight lifting to his friends. "Dig in," he said, motioning to the pizza. "I'll get the drinks." He then walked in the direction of the fridge, running a hand through his spiky blond hair.

 

When neither of the girls made a move, Sora politely moved past them and to the box. He was pretty hungry, so there was no point just standing around. He grabbed two pieces of pizza and then set them on a plate nearby. Though he also felt thirsty, he was much more hungry than dehydrated. At least, it felt that way. In reality, though, he needed both things pretty badly.

Namine smiled softly, seeing that Sora appeared pretty hungry. Since she was the next closest, she went in behind him. She set one slice on her plate and them moved over to the side by Sora so that Kairi and Roxas could get to the table.

 

Kairi grabbed a plate and set a slice of the pizza on it, feeling the grease on her fingers already. It was decently covered in it, but somehow that made her hunger for it more. Literally.

Roxas grabbed a few water bottles and sodas so his friends could choose what they wanted to drink. He came up beside Kairi and set them on the table before grabbing his own plate of pizza.

 

Sora casually leaned against the counter and finished up his first slice just as Roxas got his pizza. He had realized he was hungry, but he hadn't even begun to felt satisfied from that one piece of pizza. He'd get more after his second slice; He was sure of that.

Namine held her plate in one hand and the pizza in another, the girl taking her first few bites. The food may have been very greasy, but it was still delicious to her.

 

Unlike her friends, Kairi took a seat at the table. She picked up her pizza, the smell even stronger in front of her face, before she bit into it. She savored the flavor, hungrier than she thought.

Roxas leaned against the table by the pizza box and chewed on his first slice of the two he had picked up. He closed his eyes when he bit into the food, smiling instantly.

 

Before he started his second piece, Sora suddenly felt really thirsty. He took a few steps forward and set his plate on the table and grabbed a napkin, wiping off his greasy hands. Once that was done, he reached for a bottle of water and opened it up, drinking the cool, refreshing beverage.

 

Kairi continued to eat her pizza in the silence that surrounded them. She supposed it was quiet because everybody was busy eating. It didn't surprise her, since they hadn't eaten since this morning, even though they weren't together until later.

 

Namine finished up her first slice, which was surprisingly filling for her. She doubt she'd need another piece now. Once she lowered her plate in her grasp, she turned to look at Sora, who had returned to his previous spot and was just finishing his second slice.

 

Kairi bit into her favorite part of the pizza: the crust. She chewed the food silently, not wanting to disturb the quiet around her. Surely Sora's stomach isn't grumbling now, she thought, smiling a little.
