Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine nodded worriedly. "Yeah..." she said, a frown appearing on her face. What did that mean? Obviously there was something wrong if they both felt it.

 

Kairi looked up at the open window, briefly remembering her friends were outside. "Roxas! Namine!" she hollered loudly, not knowing what else to do. She needed help; Sora wasn't responding.

Roxas's eyes widened, his head turning sharply toward his home at the cry. Kairi? He looked at Namine. "C'mon," he said, panic and worry showing through in his voice as he pushed himself up quickly.

 

Namine obeyed without thought and quickly rose to her feet. Something was incredibly wrong...They needed to hurry and find out what it was.

 

Roxas stood upright and immediately took off for his home, running across the yard. By the sound of Kairi's cry, something had to have gone wrong. And he knew already who it involved--Sora.

 

Namine followed Roxas, running up to his front door. Her heart was racing, and she didn't even know what was wrong.

 

Roxas ran inside, recognizing that the call had come from the living room, where he and Namine had left the couple before. He turned into the room and stopped when he saw the scene before him.

Kairi heard the rushed footsteps of her friends and turned her head. She saw them just inside the room, the girl remaining in her place next to Sora and knelt on the ground. She knew the look on her face was one of fear and worry combined, and she didn't know what to say.

 

Namine stopped next to Roxas, a soft gasp leaving her lips. Sora?! How'd he get on the floor? "What happened?" Namine whispered, concern written on her features.

 

Roxas was about to ask the same thing, but since Namine beat him to it, he started toward the redhead and his best friend.

Kairi shook her head. "I don't know..." she confessed. "One second he was okay, and the next he was on the floor. He told me he wasn't alright, and then he passed out." She sat next to Sora's form, looking from Namine to Roxas as he quickly approached her.

 

Namine looked at her friends and then her eyes darted to the kitchen. "I'll go get a wet cloth," she said. She headed right for the kitchen, hoping that maybe the wet rag on Sora's forehead would help him regain consciousness.

 

Roxas glanced at Namine at her words as he knelt down on the other side of Sora, looking at him before looking up at Kairi. "Did he say anything else? Like what was bothering him?" he inquired, wondering if it had to do with a certain injury.

Kairi shook her head. "No... He just stood up and..." She motioned to him subtly, implying that this was the outcome. She wasn't sure what was going on, but all she knew was that her worry had hiked back up.

 

Namine pulled a wash cloth out of a drawer and wet it underneath the sink, the water cold. After a moment, she held the rag in her hand and squeezed out the extra water. And then she went through the doorway to the living room.

 

Roxas frowned worriedly, not understanding how this happened then. If Kairi didn't know what was wrong when she was the person with Sora, he wasn't sure how he was supposed to know either.

 

Namine came and knelt down by her friends, a concerned expression still present on her face. "Here," she said softly to Kairi, offering her the rag. She would probably want to take care of him, since he was her boyfriend.

 

Kairi looked up and saw the washcloth offered to her. "Thanks," she said, taking it from Namine's grasp. It was already folded, so she set it lightly on top of Sora's forehead, biting her lip as she did so. She was so confused about this, but immensely worried about him. What could have triggered this?

 

Namine bit her lip lightly, nodding faintly at Kairi's thanks. She was still worried about Sora, though. He didn't look good at all...What happened?

 

Kairi dabbed Sora's forehead with the cloth, her eyes staying on his face. "Do you think he could have fainted from shock? You know, from the pain?" she asked her friends, looking up at them.

Roxas shrugged, his eyebrows furrowed. "It's a possibility, but I would think that would've happened right after the fight or at least on the way home," he said, speaking his thoughts aloud.

 

"Maybe dehydration?" Namine said without thought, her eyes staying on Sora. It had been a long day, and an exhausting one at that. Maybe he just didn't drink enough...

 

Kairi nodded at the suggestion. "Maybe..." She wished she knew, though. Seeing Sora on the floor like this and not knowing the reason why really hurt her on the inside.

 

Sora furrowed his brows, starting to come to. He was wondering exactly why he was coming out of the blackness again, but he knew that as soon as he opened his eyes, he'd be able to find an answer. That thought was making him wake up quickly.

 

Kairi noticed the small reaction out of Sora, lifting the damp rag from his forehead. "Sora?" she called gently, wondering if he was beginning to wake up.

Roxas watched intently, hoping to see his friend wake up. He would have suggested they move him to the couch, but since they were starting to get reactions out of him now, he decided against it.
